As above.

I thought Devonshire did a good job there, but to improve on that has been some feat with a very similar squad of players and also taking into account their midweek tour of England catching up on games.

Gary Johnson for me.
Of course Cowley and Kinnear have done great at their respective clubs but i don't think any manager in this league other than Johnson could have romped to the title with those players that Cheltenham had.
Had Hurst or Pennock been in charge of that Cheltenham team they would not have won the league which is why for me Johnson gets the nod.

Gary Johnson. We all knew at the start of the season that he was the best manager in the league by a country mile and he's proved it by pissing the league with a load of Conference journeymen.

Johnson hasn't had anything to beat. It's the worst standard of football the division has seen and it's only getting worse. Dagnum and York should walk the league with the increase in parachute payments next season.

Cowley is the only choice for this.

Surprised Cox never featured on either of those top 7s - he took a team that were certainties for relegation and we've been one of the top 5 teams since (on form). Not sure how Garry Hill (led a mid-table team to mid-table) and Paul Hurst (limped into the play-offs with the league favourites) would be considered.

Nicholson.

Anyone who saw the state of us prior to February should back this up.

I'm biased, but Gary Johnson for me.

Only three players this season played at all last season, two of whom was bombed out as soon as another club would take them (Lee Vaughan and Joe Hanks). The other, Asa Hall, played 6 mins of the opening game of the 14/15 season so was not held in any way responsible for relegation. On the opening day all 11 players were making their full debuts for the club. We broke a club record for the number of games unbeaten, reached over 100 points, and the club is a completely different place to what it was this time last year. That is solely down to Gary Johnson.

That's not to take anything away from Danny Cowley though, what he's achieved with Braintree is phenomenal.

Or....Johnson was given a big budget to pick a team capable of getting promotion. He fashioned them into a team who were better than they looked on paper but they were mostly players who had done well down here in the past. Or talented played from higher up the leagues, rather than rank unknowns.

Not to take away what was a fine achievement but for me what the likes of Braintree and Dover have achieved is far more impressive.

Gary Johnson for me, it's ok having the tools but it's how you use them to produce the goods then Danny Cowley and Kevin Nicholson have been a cut above the rest!

Although he have to hold your hands up to Danny Cowley, for me it has to be Gary Johnson.

To almost totally rebuild a team and lead them to the title with over 100 points, thus becoming the first team to win the title the season after being relegated, for 26 years can't be beaten for me.

Danny Cowley for me too.

Gary Johnson a close second, but he had the extra time when taking Cheltenham over in an near impossible position last season to evaluate and rectify the squad and he has succeeded at this level before with Yeovil, so Cowley's achievement the greater.

Obviously a bit biased but I have to say Johnson just because of the way he transformed the club in such a short space of time. 12 months ago we were an utter shambles and facing going part time if we didn't go back up straight away. To build a completely new squad and break all sorts of club records with them on the way to pissing the league is an unbelievable achievement.

Obviously Cowley and Kinnear have done brilliant jobs as well and massive congratulations must go to both of them.

Also a special mention to Ady Pennock, without whom we'd have had a much tougher end to the season ;)

Can't believe no one has mentioned John Askey yet.

Oh this isn't a generic "shout for your own manager" thread? Sorry about that.

Askey consistently does well with his tiny budget (cough) but Cowley must be favourite.

The club confirmed at a fans forum a couple of weeks ago we had the 5th smallest in the league last season. I have some Covonia in my cupboard if that will help with your cough?

How can they possibly know that with any degree of certainty?
