I'd expect you'll wait til the season is over. As with LvG I'd expect it's cheaper to sack them after the season is done.
Guess not!

Would be ace. It'd be a Martinez team, pumped on steroids, and without statements like ''Gareth Barry makes Pirlo look one footed'', ''We only lost 4-0 because the referee got a call wrong for a throw-in after 3 minutes'' and ''I voted for Tom Cleverly in the London Elections''.

His time with the club was shambolic and he failed to learn from every mistake he made, Everton should be much better next season assuming they make the right appointment.

They need somebody who can put any confidence back in John Stones - if Everton don't sell him.

Pellegrini would be a good choice but then Man City's defending hasn't exactly been rock solid this season!

Do Everton fans really think they've a hope of tempting Koeman, Pellegrini or, as I saw one fan say elsewhere, Bilic?

Benitez would make sense and I think he'd go there, players generally seem to switch Merseyside clubs without too much faff, so I don't see why Benitez would be scolded for doing so.

I still think Martinez will make a good manager, I know they've underachieved but he has took them to 2 semi finals which makes me think the board told him to win a trophy and most of his focus was on the cup competitions and sacrificing the league form.

Also I don't think the players are as good as they're made out, if Barkley was so good then people wouldn't be blaming the manager for his bad form, Lukaku has always been inconsistent and Stones is inexperienced/naive.

Think the decision had to be made and I think at the right club hell do well.

Just don't let Kenwright choose. I still say we have a chance of landing Pelligrini, he's stated he wants to stay in premier league. Dont know who else he could go to.

FDB imo. He has wanted to come to PL for a long time, throwing himself at Liverpool and Spurs job.

Just a thought but wouldn't Hiddink be a good appointment? If you could talk him into it.

The players have to take some blame, but the squad Everton have should never be outside the top 10.

Martinez showed at Everton almost exactly the same things he showed at Wigan. At Wigan he developed a team that played good football but didn't pick up results. Same at Everton. Wigan had better showings in the cup under Martinez, as did Everton. I don't think he'll make a good manager because he's a purist who puts style over substance. He can't seem to adapt and alter his style from game to game.

I think his reputation is damaged in this country now, might need to go back to Spain where his ideals would be more suited. Fans in this country aren't interested in pretty football, they want winning football. Martinez underachieved at Everton and should have gotten more from this squad this year.

Koeman has a year left on his contract and from what I gather quite pissed that he's had to sell loads of his team and build from scratch each summer he's been there. Moshiri is a fan of his and given he has loads of money Koeman could be tempted.

Pellegrini is out of a job, again the money we have could tempt him to come.

No chance on Bilic, he's West Ham through and through.

I really can't see why anyone would want Pellegrini. I know Rene is a fan but his tenure at City has been, not shite, but 'meh'. He has failed to get the best (or anywhere close) out of a top drawer squad. So what the fuck is he going to do with Everton? He's done nothing in his last 3 jobs to be considered a top level manager for me. Failed at Real, went to moneybags Malaga and did ok but given the cash injection no better than expected, then when the money disappeared and they were out of Europe he left for City. At City he's spent a fucking fortune and got 1 league title and 2 league cups. It's not like he's even ran it close in the last 2 seasons. And do Man City have a style of play? Has he instilled any sort of method to the way they try to play the game? Has he put his mark on the team? Fuck no.
He did well at Villareal. Other than that I don't see why anyone would want him. AVB did well at Porto, he's done nothing noteworthy since. And he's leaving Zenit. Why not take that twat?

He's sold one big player in Schneiderlin.

He was made aware before he took that job that Lallana/Lovren would be allowed to leave if a club offered silly money for them.

Would be annoyed if he left us for Everton.

Koeman? They must be deluded.
Apart from Lukaku and maybe Stones, the rest of the squad is shit. And those two will probably leave Everton this summer too. Leaving a bigger club with miles better players and wonderful fans to join a bitter club would be a tragedy.

If this was in about 2 years time, then I'd be very worried about Howe taking it. But now, no, Everton won't be interested and Howe won't be leaving for anywhere at this point.

Koeman would be bonkers to leave Saints for Everton currently, he's onto something good there and will probably get offered a bigger job than Everton in the coming years if he just keeps steering Saints towards solid top 6-8 finishes, which seems probable.

Absolutely. In just the last two seasons Southampton have a combined points advantage over Everton of nearly 30, it would be complete madness for him to even consider it. Everton are a bit of a shambles at the moment, and whoever comes in has a lot of work to do, especially in terms of player confidence.

Is Moshiri even *that* minted? Not enough to put them at a big advantage over similar clubs with the new TV deal, surely?

Maybe 25+ years ago, there have only been two in the past 20 years, the last was almost 15 years ago (Xavier) and Barmby's move wasn't the most well received, let's say. There'd be an absolute shitstorm if we tried to take one of their players now.

I can't imagine Benitez would be warmly welcomed by many Evertonians, they'll never forgive his connection to us and calling them a small club. It'd be a good move for him and his family would love it though (they still live on the Wirral, Merseyside's their home now).

Not surprised to see Martinez sacked as he seemed to lose the dressing room and most importantly support from fans, I don't think under Martinez Everton will have ever ended up in a relegation battle but they would never progress either and just remain a mid table team.

Be careful though as with other thread you could do a Leicester with new manager but could easily go other way like Newcastle.

I'm not so sure. A single win in their last 10 league games and 6 losses, that's relegation form in anyone's book and we're not talking a blip, they've been getting progressively worse in recent months. He'd completely lost the dressing room and the fans. I wouldn't have been at all surprised to see them battling at the bottom of the table next season had they not taken the correct decision and booted him.

Yeh definitely think they have done right thing by getting rid because losing fans is always bad as it just makes atmosphere at games toxic like at Bramall Lane and Adkins towards end of season.

Everton also need a manager who can make them tick for a full season, seems they either start well and tail off towards end of season or start poor and pick things up for second half of season.

I'm not quite sure about the comment about Martinez needing to go back to Spain. He has spent virtually all of his football career here in England, there's not anything for him to go back to!

So that's Virgil Van Dijk and now Fraser Forster signed up to new deals in the last couple of weeks. The selling Southampton is slowly becoming a thing of the past. Although I expect Wanyama and maybe Mane to leave this summer, but with their personalities, there isn't a lot that the club can do.

As for Koeman, no offense to Everton, but he'll end up at a better placed club after us. I expect he'd rather take the Netherlands job ahead of Everton too.
