Diamonds scored a big win today, away at Deeping Rangers. Possibly one of our toughest fixtures remaining before the match. Two headers from corners from CB Liam Dolman (stereotypically massive non-league central defender) giving the win, with a large number of opportunities squandered at the right end too. Deeping had a few at the other end, and scored from what was apparently a good team move, but this was bookended by the two efforts from Dolman. FT 2-1 Diamonds.

Promotion rivals Holbeach were meant to be playing in the Vase today, but that match was scrapped due to an unplayable pitch. This means another game which will take priority over league fixtures for them.

Diamonds now have an 11 point lead over Holbeach, with the latter having 4 games in hand.

Played for a 0-0 and got what we deserved.....

Hopefully we will have a new manager soon because Barker was far more negative and as bad as Holdsworth today!

Woking fans embarrassed themselves today. Trying to pull the goal net off, going ballistic at a player who was hacked from behind and making a complete tit of themselves. How tinpot can you get.

Our goals were fortunate (well, the pen was a pen) but we decided that as Woking were causing us no problems we'd decide to instead. First thirty minutes of the second half we dominated, but kept on shooting from distance instead of passing to better placed players (mostly Yiadom or Akinde). If we'd stopped trying to score screamers we'd have been 3/4-0 up, Woking couldn't defend at the time. Then a mysterious gap appears between midfield and attack and Woking score. Then the usual Barnet panic happens as we lose all composure and we were lucky Woking that were utterly toothless.

Banya looked useful and I was impressed that Johnson dealt with him as well as he did. Lafayette is a moaning little sh*** who done nothing of note except berate the linesman and referee for all of his 30 minute first half cameo. Thought our new loaned Clifford looked fantastic and think he'll be very good in games where we're a little calmer.

Overall, neither team impressed me much today but it shows how bloody good Akinde is. Another pen and goal.

535 Woking fans there today. I seem to remember saying on TFF that I was surprised Barnet only brought 300 odd to ours considering their league position. One of their fans said we wouldn't bring many more. :bye: They also called in about 30 riot police with 20 minutes to go too for some reason.

Shocking if Barnet can only fetch 1,500 home fans after being top of the league for several months against a decent side for a relative derby.

Looking forward to our game against Wrectum Tuesday, if it's on. FA Trophy's suddenly picked up for me after that.

I wouldn't say all of us embarrassed ourselves. The abuse Akinde received was strange. He didn't dive for the penalty or anything like that. There was always going to be a bit of 'Woking reject' stuff but some of our support took it beyond that. As for the goal net thing I think it was to put Akinde off, not that it did as it was a very cool penalty, rather than to rip it down. Perhaps you should look at your stewards/ground as to why fans are allowed to stand in between the terrace and pitch-side barrier when the goal net is right up against the barrier.

Considering your side is top of the league, the support your fans provide is AWFUL. Only got behind the team for a couple of minutes after the goals or when our lot were making sure you were all still alive. Calling in the riot police though, really?

Yep, and they were all stood by the exit with 5 minutes to go ready to leave. Strange club, won't be a loss to league when they go up.

Woking is in no way a derby match for us.

Attendance was low due to the North London derby, simple as. Many of our fans support us as a second team after Arsenal/Spurs which explains it.

I think that's the first time I've seen someone score an own goal because he was shitting himself. Although to be fair, if Akinde was chasing me I might do the same.

Can't comment on the red as I was the other end of the ground but didn't stop me calling for it. Didn't expect it to be shown though.

Should have buried the game before giving away the soft goal, but the three points are all that matters.

Clifford looks a class signing!

You have fans trying to tear a goal down and who require extra police to be called in because they got so incensed at a player who got hacked down, yet try to turn it on Barnet fans who wanted to get to their cars quickly before the mad queues to leave the car park begin. Look in before you look out.

Just looked at the upcoming fixtures, that rovers v Grimsby game looks tasty. We have Alty and Southport coming up, if we can gain a couple of wins from there then we could be starting to apply some real pressure onto Barnet. Looking further into March apart from Eastleigh away we have aldershot, Telford at home. Big ask but this next month is our chance to really give this winning the league stuff a go.

Very few actually leave early, people get out of their seats and watch from the corner for the last five minutes as the car park is horrendous after the game.

I'm sure a team whose fans throw a tantrum after a correct penalty decision and spend the rest of the game trying to rip a goal net off and confronting stewards are a far greater asset to the league.

As I have already said I feel the penalty was the correct decision, despite the fact the referee seemed to indicate that it was a free kick at first. The incorrect decision was the red card that ultimately killed the game. As I have also said I'm not sure why some of our support were so incensed with Akinde. However, the main OUTRAGE was towards the referee.

I'd sacrifice having to sit in a warm car trying to get out of the car park to aplaud my team off the pitch because they've won again and are top of the league. It obviously doesn't matter that much to you, in which case fair play for actually turning up and paying £21.

As comfortable a home victory as I've seen this season. Lincoln were really as poor as their fans said they would be! We should have had two or three before we got out first!

In the second half we didn't come out of second gear because there was no need to but I did think the Imps' back line would literally just collapse, but by hook or by crook they didn't concede any more. Matty Taylor was so unlucky not to score with a header late on that smacked against the post and Ellis Harrison missed a glorious chance in stoppage time, but that was about it.

Shame Barnet won again and that Macclesfield somehow sneaked a win against Welling, but it was great for us that FGR beat Grimsby. It makes next weekend's meeting at Blundell Park look very tasty.

Police being called was justified by the way. You had 30-40 Woking fans confronting stewards and trying to rip the goal net off.

By far and away the worst set of away fans we've had here since The Hive opened.

Have to criticise the police too, they needlessly made trouble when Eastleigh and Dartford visited but when a much bigger away following turns up they are nowhere to be seen until called.

Sorry, but given the reaction of some Woking fans trying to rip the net off the goal, I find it very amusing that Barnet fans standing by the exits are getting stick here. There will be fans of every team, Woking included, that do this. Most fans of teams don't try and rip the nets of the goals though.

I hope that Woking are charged for the extra policing costs too. Think Rovers and Halifax have some competition in the annual thuggery awards

I'd be much happier to be outside of the playoffs but with another 1000 in the ground than be top top top top, top of the league....!!!!

I couldn't give a shit about the attendance all I care is that we dispatched another side

This is fantastic. :fl:

If we ever play you again I'll bring some scissors to pass around so they can get to work on RIPPING the goal net down easier. What a coincidence some of our fans started RIPPING it down just as a penalty was about to be taken towards it. Funny too, that they all stopped once the penalty had been taken. It was almost like they were trying to put Akinde off . I'm actually surprised your jobsworth stewards didn't revel in pushing them away from the barrier to stop it. They obviously didn't seem to mind as they didn't do anything.

To be fair I thought it was the floodlights coming on that set them off. Not understanding why there was light again. I would be criticising if it was Barnet fans doing that. Was really embarrassing.

On another topic, is Lafayette always a moaning little pansy? I don't know if it's just his time of the month at the moment or if he just got annoyed, but my god he did go on and on and on.

Probably was too, gremlins and goblins don't like the light after all. Burns their skin something horrid.

WOW What a mad second half today!

We went behind to absolute howler from Mooney. Think Ben Foster in Euro 2008 Qualifying v Croatia and you have it in one. 10 minutes into the biggest game of the season so far and you can start any worse. But give credit where its due we responded well and went close several times with Hawley having the best chance with his shot was cleared off the line. Southport had chances to double their lead before HT. Brodie while being a twat as always was causing us all sorts of problems. He had an effort cleared of the line and went close while one on one with Mooney.

Now the beginning to the Second half! WOW.

We had them on the back foot from the very beginning and won a Pen 3 minutes in when Bradley was tripped. MOTM Bradley wood who was superb bTW coolly slotted hme! Seconds later Wood won the ball in the centre of the park ran down the wing and hit a peach of a cross for Hawley to bang home!! 2-1 and what a turn around. Then Johnstone ran at the Southport defence who panicked brought him don around 3 yards IN the Box. So Mr Wigglseworth points for a Freekick! :dk: Total madness.

Minutes later another poor error from our defence allowed Brodie in who looked certain to score. His shot crashed against the underside of the bar and bounced on the line and out towards him and he looked nail on to fiind the net but the rebound was somehow Kept out by Mooney. Inspired save. This all within the opening 12 minutes of the Second half!

Both sides had chances to score then Bradley smacking the bar for us and that man Brodie going close until Callum Howe powered home a corner to make it 3-1. Southport then made it 3-2 and it was absolute panic stations then for both sides with Alfreton somehow surviving several goal mouth melees.

That was until 2 minutes from time another excellent Bradley Wood cross was slid until his own net by Connor to ease the Nerves. Both sides could have scored 2 each in added time. It was truly bonkers.
Sorry for the long winded post lol. HUGE Second half from us and we are well and truly back in it now!

Bring on FGR on Tuesday!

Woking fans were a disgrace and calling the police was a necessity. Nothing wrong with moving towards the exit with a couple of minutes to go, we still have a good view. When I went to Woking recently I made what I thought was a hasty exit at the final whistle only to find that it took me about 20 mins to get out of the leisure centre car park. Most of the cars in front of me must have been Woking supporters who obviously got out of the ground before me.

Ask Welling/Luton, we've only had him for a couple of games.

What about Barnet though, do they always just hoof it up to Akinde? Seriously ordinary and even more so with your two-man advantage for 65 minutes. If Akinde was to get injured, you would not win the league. Not that you think you will anyway. :fl:

And as for the sending off, it looked a good decision from where I was sitting. Even if it wasn't a good decision it makes up for the fact that he should have walked when we played them at their place. He was only given the red card after the match.

Not sure we even got to 20%. MBH got us out of jail with 2 great finishes today. If we play anything like that on Tuesday then Alty will have their hat trick of wins this season. We were awful.
Told you you didnt need to be at the top of your game to beat Welling. Their going down. All that matters for you guys is you won.

Yet we beat you, despite putting in an average performance.
We don't score 72 goals and counting by just hoofing the ball up to Akinde.
