Ask Welling/Luton, we've only had him for a couple of games.

What about Barnet though, do they always just hoof it up to Akinde? Seriously ordinary and even more so with your two-man advantage for 65 minutes. If Akinde was to get injured, you would not win the league. Not that you think you will anyway. :fl:

I wouldn't say we always hoof it, we played some great football on the ground today. There was one move in the first half in particular that was really nice and had your defence scrambling around. But when you have a striker as good at controlling high balls as Akinde (I don't think he lost one aerial battle all game today) why wouldn't you use him as much as possible? Come on, there's plenty to find criticisms for (I don't disagree about the ticket costs, for one) but our use of Akinde really isn't one of them.

I still don't think we'll win it, Rovers still aren't losing and Macclesfield have a cushty run in. But we're one win closer, which is all that matters.

Talking of thugs, i don't know the story behind it but saw a Grimsby fan RT this earlier.

Anyone playing with an inflatable at a football match, clearly deserves it.

FAO Grimsby fans:

Thanks for Aswad. He was very good, even more so considering he hasn't played much recently.

B2TF will be pleased to see Welling had another red today!!
It's disgusting the FA are allowing the dirty bastards to get away with it, time for the top brass to show some balls and do something about this club and it's set of thugs.

Don't have to thank us. He bitched and sulked and cried for a move back down south. He's glad to be gone and we're glad to have him gone.

He was never the same when he left for Braintree and then Grimsby when I saw him. Hopefully he'll stay with us next season and then sign for a League club like many others have done in the past.

2-0 is about fair. Should have had 4 on goal scoring chances although Lincoln could have had 1 tbf.

lincoln heads don't half drop after 1 goal. They fell apart after that
Always do, we've haven't scored a goal outside Lincolnshire since December 19th...
That's 13 unanswered goals now away from the bank.

He was quality when he first signed, seemed to gel with the team two seasons ago and looked like he was enjoying it. He's got the ability but clearly had a few problems off the pitch the past year or so which translated to his performances. I've only seen him a couple of times this season and he looked utterly terrible. The move was best for both parties and not surprised at all to see him do well for you.

Is Garry Hill for real claiming Akinde was running away from goal. The Woking player was last man so he was always likely to walk, looked a foul to me, the only question was whether it was in the area.

Clearly deserves a borderline dangerous head lock? For an inflatable ball?

I wasn't being serious, it was more a dig at those annoying bastards who bring in oversized inflatables and chuck them around impinging other fans enjoyment/view of the game.

Don't know what happened with your fan, the pictures make our stewards look a bit over-zealous.

It wouldn't be the first time, a few weeks ago our press officer and local bbc radio commentator both got thrown out over a ridiculous over-blown incident trying to arrange seating in the press area. It got resolved, but it made our stewarding look pretty silly.

Nothing to add that hasn't already been said about the game today other than no idea why at 2-1 up welling took their number 8 vose off, he ran the game in the first half and was always their out ball, did us a massive favour. Will play better and lose all you can ask for....

Fair enough. If it's hindering the view of the game for anyone then it's totally understandable for stewards to take action, although I believe this was well before kick off.

With us having lost our fans are trying to take their mind off it by spreading this as much as they can to force some sort of action towards the steward(s). Rightly so mind, looks like an insane overreaction. We've seen stuff like this with authorities throwing their weight around and being overly physical just to prove a point which leads to people being wrongly hurt. Needs to be stamped down.

Vose is the only genuinely decent player Brown has brought in at Welling, the others are all has beens. He was playing quite frequently for Colchester last season before they let him go. Good player and I'm annoyed we let him go without giving him a chance.

I can't see them staying up, so bizarre to bring in a manager from the bottom half of the Ryman league.

Wish I'd have put something on Welling at 5's when Day left but hung on thinking I might get better odds.

And here's the highlights of today's game. Not a red. First contact seems to be made outside the penalty area. Main contact clearly inside. Great save from Stack at the end which the referee gave a goal kick for.

Edit: Forgot to mention, look at all that net RIPPING going on during the penalty. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE CALL THE RIOT POLICE IN ETC.

It was red in my book, last man. Current rule is if contact continues into the box it's a pen.

I've slowed the shot at the end down, Stack doesn't touch it and it just goes over.

It was a pretty clear DOGSO to me, so McNerney had to go.

Welling are going down, mark my words. Alfreton to stay up.
Agree with that, Alfreton to me look the only one of the current bottom four capable of getting out of trouble, they'll catch either Southport or Welling, maybe both.

Their were a few interesting spectators at Todays game too. The most interesting was Liam Watson. Is he going to take the helm at Southport again?

I think we will be ok. Today was huge and the manner of the victory was pleasing too. Southport just fell apart Second half. They lost their disclpline too. Could have been down to 9 easily if we had a stronger ref then "Weak Wigglseworth".

Not a very good game today. Distinctly lacklustre from Altrincham, especially in the first half, but Aldershot were the poorest team I've seen in this division so far. They were gifted the ball on numerous occasions from misplaced passes, but never punished mistakes, giving the ball straight back as often as not. Hoping to see a more "together" show on Tuesday night.

I don't think it was a red but there's not enough in it for a successful appeal meaning he'll miss Kidderminster (A) and Lincoln (A) which is a big blow. It has also been revealed that the referee was swearing at the Woking players during the game.

No,we use our advantage, but also play elsewhere.

We don't just see the goal net and go to rip it off. Bit classier than that.

Having seen the excellent highlights produced by Woking, I actually think the red card looked like the correct decision.

Perhaps slightly harsh given there was initial contact outside the box but then there was a sliding challenge which was inside the box, which was a foul and which denied Akinde a goal scoring opportunity.

Just seen the replay of the pen. Definite pen not a red. Pretty much what I thought at the time. Still would have left a goal net on the goal though. I was there for Barnet away to Colchester when I was spitting chips at the decision. Wasn't a fucking retard though.
