Ridiculous. We decided to play wih the right back and striker in the second half after letting them have a lead by only playing with 9 men in the first. Get back into the game. Well on top and then switch off to let them win.

Eastleigh are a cynical cheating team aren't they? Took advantage of a weak ref today.

This next managerial appointment is absolutely huge. Get it wrong and we're well and truly fucked.

[high chance that may be the case anyway]

The blokes mental.

Who in their right mind has 14 goals sat on the bench? He cannot help himself and it's absolutely infuriating.

No other side does this, especially not a side going for the league.

Ah well, it's not my job he'll be costing if he does fuck it up (again)

.......end result 0-4 to Grimsby.

Somehow it's only 1-1. Alex Palmer has saved 2 penalties

Kidderminster were possibly the best side 1st half and went in 1-0 up through Styche,
2nd half was a bit one way Cook equalised, the keeper then made a double save from Cooks penalty and the rebound, Barrow were awarded a 2nd penalty after Wilson was brought down in the box and the keeper saved Ashley Grimes penalty.
And finally to top off a frustrating day for Barrow, Danny Livesey had a goal disallowed after heading in from a corner in injury time.
Definitely 2 points lost today.....

Point still stands.

We won today, the damage it does to continuity and allowing players to gel lasts a lot longer.

Bogle was absolute toss on Tuesday and threw a paddy when subbed, the other forwards who came on were loads better too. So it looks to be an inspired move today by Hurst as if Bogle is the real deal then he will be eager to win his place back won't he.

Firstly, Bogle being dropped isn't the issue. I get it, he's just come into full time football, he's started excellently but has the tendency to beat himself up when it's not going his way. However, Amond not playing is absolutely mystifying and the main gripe. Everything goes through him, yet he can't get back in the side.

Now secondly, Bogle has looked worse off without Amond. If your side had a strike partnership that had 13 goals between them, who both thrived off each other. Would you be pleased to see them dropped?

It looks like an over reaction, but no fan in this league can particularly sympathise because it doesn't happen anywhere else. Yes we've won today, but more often than not this season it hasn't and Hurst still persists. He'll continue to do so, if we had a solid strike partnership who played each week they'd eventually become unstoppable at this level. Breaking them up each week is doing us no favours whatsoever IMO.

Problem has actually been at the other end - so its good to get 2 clean sheets in a week. I still maintain Hurst's biggest feck up was rushing Jimmy Mack back after meningitis. He hadn't played pre-season and the defence was jittery despite us dominating games - probably cost us a really great start from the first 5 games. As soons as he was diagnosed Hurst could have acted and brought in a loan keeper. Not as if he didn't have the money - poor judgement IMHO...

We were utterly dreadful, no excuses. As soon as Gallagher was sent off (I thought it was a little harsh but opinion seems split on whether it was a red or not) the game was over but in truth we got exactly what we deserved. Only one team put in the effort to win the game and they are the side that got the 3 points.

Totally unacceptable. Our home form needs to improve ASAP!

Depressing but as I thought we actually played well I can't muster up any energy to moan about anything.

I'm not sure how we lost really, created an absolute host of chances and wasted them all. Some of the basic stupid mistakes we make are embarrassing.

Surprisingly I thought Bromley were extremely poor, they heavily rely on Emmanuel.

I've a horrible feeling his justification for changing it up top is that the other two contribute more defensively. It's Hurst logic and is why LJL played so many games. But then again look at what constant football did for his game...

I cannot grumble about the result. I just fear it masks some underlying problems that are just continuing.

I have no idea how good these dropped Grimsby attackers are but it seems harsh that Ben Tomlinson is starting ahead of them. In all of his games for us before joining you guys he looked Conf South standard.

A few shocks there. Great win for Uxbridge, and Winchester, Newton Aycliffe, Larkhall and Holbeach doing well to get replays.

Well done to the Step 9 teams who made it through: Whitley Bay, Sporting Khalsa, Eastbourne Town, Hoddesdon Town, Hartley Wintney, Brockenhurst and Blackfield & Langley. A few more in replays including Newton Aycliffe and Holbeach.

Also credible performances by Bodmin Town and Hook Norton, Step 10 teams keeping the deficit to one goal against Conf South opponents.

He's been way way below par so far for us. Not even close to League standard.

What did he get, five games? And how many of them did he start? He's probably not good enough for the FL but he's very effective at this level.

Tamworth 2-3 Alfreton

Well blow me down a feather WHAT a Game! The magic of the FA was truly alive today as Alfreton Come from 2-0 down with 15 minutes to play to unbelievably triumph 3-2!

For the first 25 Minutes or so it was all Alfreton as we won a long series of Freekicks, Corners and Long Throws but failed to real create a single thing. Tamworth then awoke won a corner which was played short to Durrelll who find the bottom corner to give them the lead after a wicked deflection.
That was HT and Tamworth lead 1-0.

Tamworth then came out for the second half and took control of the game and played us off the park for 30 minutes but missed a wealth of chance but finally doubled their lead through Newtons header on 75 Minutes

Then Nicky threw on, Thanoj, Jackson and Johnson in desperation! And what a move it turn out to be!

Immediately Thanoj played Jackson through and he fired it home to make it 2-1 with 13 Minutes left.
Then on 89 Newton was ajudged to have handled in the area for a Penalty which Jordan slotted home to level the scores!
But that was not the end of the drama as Naill Heaton rampaged down the right and fed Super Sub John Johnston who unleashed a thunderbolt into the bottom corner to win it for the Reds!! He then got caught in the moment and went in two footed second after the restart to be sent off which took some gloss of the game but never the less what a comeback!

So somehow we are in Mondays Third Round draw! A Home Game Please against someone in a different league!

You'd expect a Conference player in League 2 to look average but not way out of their depth, but defenders don't look the slightest bit worried by him and his first touch and decision making are both pathetic. He's yet to even manage a 5/10 performance so far.

I`ve seen him cause League One Leyton Orient all manner of problems in an FA Cup tie for Alfreton in 2011 scoring one and striking the woodwork twice. Having said that though I agree he is not League Standard

Good player at this level but not outstanding, probably a step to far for him L2 but a good 15+ striker at this level.

Football League status is affecting said posters judgement I think. A bit like having your head in the clouds. He is indeed a good striker at this level.

Grimsby fans arguing after a 4-0 win, classic.

Anyway, very pleased with our result today. Needed something after Tuesday. Delighted for Hearn and Rhead who must be one of the best partnerships in this league now?
