Just watched his interview and he wasn't very 'up' was he. Having said that it's the only one I've seen so that's perhaps how he is.

He's always like that, you can win 4-1 and he's fuming for most of the interview cos we didn't keep a clean sheet,

For what it's worth I think he's off after the playoffs whatever happens with us, he's got the guarantee of league footy, at a bigger team, bigger budget, in the region where he and his family live, none of us would begrudge him that, he's worked wonders for us this season on a much reduced budget, deserves a crack in the EFL.

Having watched the last interview by Keith Hill as Tranmere Rovers manager the bar is set very high for downbeat and odd in these parts.

I think it must be destabilising for the team knowing he's off come what may, suddenly the all in it together spirit goes.

It's not like he's been approached yet, when it does happen, if it does, he'll be off then and not before.

Is it generally known that Tranmere are going to make an approach then?

It’s a nightmare spot because our play-offs finish so late. The final is like a few days before EFL teams are going to be back in training.

Supposedly one of the biggest reasons behind us deciding to change manager when we did.

No, just people putting 2+2 together, DC wouldn't turn Tranmere down if they wanted him, no shot.

Bloody hell, I never expected a day like today ever to happen. I’ve supported Sutton for 27 years. For most of that time our staple diet has been against teams like Billericay, Basingstoke and carshalton. By strength of resources alone we should be fighting relegation at this level. But here we are, champions.

As for the game we looked confident and barring a few chances for Hartlepool, in control throughout. Not spectacular but strong and efficient, like our season. Since the defeat at Meadow Lane we’ve won 4 games in a row, our best run of the season and a sign of character.
Congratulations well deserved, enjoy winning it. Really gutted watching your fans celebrate, something we missed out on last year. Hopefully you can consolidate in Division four.

It does make a lot of sense. My big worry if I was in your position would be that Tranmere are going to want someone in soon to start on recruitment etc. They’re not going to wait until the end of June.

Its possible that an arrangement could be made, if he is the one we want, that could see him stay until Hartlepool finish the play offs. He could give a list of players he wants to us and let others do the negotiations while carrying on managing with you. Its happened before.
Depends how your chairman looks at it. If he is going to become our manager it would be good to see him show a certain loyalty and professionalism by attempting to finish a job at your club first.
What style of football does he favour?

Well done Sutton, a team close to my heart. Whenever I've headed to GGL they've been welcoming and accepted me as part of the family. I regard many of their supporters as friends and I'm so pleased for them. Now the hard work starts.

Might be something in that. Maybe he has been approached no one knows.

I would think a lot less of Challinor if he just walked out now put it that way. I do think he's off at the end of the season regardless. Having said that Raj Singh is an odious c*** so he might push DC out of spite if he knows about any approach because he couldn't give a fuck if we go up or not.

Style of football? High press, play out from the back. We're a good passing side. Not that anyone saw that yesterday mind. Tends to favour 433 but has made us a solid side in a 352 when his preferred setup wasn't working. Quite ruthless, not afraid to bin off players or call them out publicly. But he's usually measured in what he says to the press and always finds the balance between praise and criticism.

Would be a very good appointment.

He doesn't come across as the type to walk away, even when he left his first job it was to go into full time management from part time.
As far as the description of the football and management style goes he sounds exactly what we need because our problem this season was players who lacked a good kick up the arse when they needed it.

Chesterfield’s rivalry with Dagenham and Redbridge is becoming fiercer than their ongoing beef with the treasury.
This shit is like 'Babies 1st Like Generator' around here isn't it

Was gonna say, the post doesn’t even make sense considering the treasury is our closest of allies!?

Sunak is a Spireite!

That's where you're going wrong you see ODL you don't need to make sense, or even have a point, so long as you're bashing town, and even better make some weak reference to FuRlOuGh you're onto a winner!

We play some nice football and look like scoring in every game, but when you keep gifting the opposition 3 goals you'll lose most games.

Nouble was unplayable again but will sadly be off over the summer.

Chipmunx will probably fall off his chair, but we need to give Panayioutou a deal for next season. Think thats 12 goals for the season on top of the off the ball work he does for the team - not bad for someone that I wouldnt have considered keeping 12 months ago.
i'm not even sure he'd scored 12 goals in his career before that....
