After Notts did us last minute at Blundell Park earlier in the season some of their fans on Twitter were absolute ball bags so that feels fucking great today.
Nothing against the Notts fans on here by the way who are all sound.
Notts have a... unique set of fans on the socials, don't they.

Burchnall has to change the system. Roberts is our best player by a mile, 433 with him wide right and 3 in the middle, even if it means Rodrigues has to sit on the bench

That's a big result for us today that, and I'm told a much better performance than recently (although still not amazing). You'd imagine that might secure Danny Webb the job til the end of the season

Edit: actually quite on board with McCourt over Weston in the middle of the pitch, at least at home and especially when Oyeleke isn't playing. Someone who can bring the ball out from deep midfield and always look to play a forward pass, really helps open the game up. Weston is a workhorse and does the dirty stuff really well, but his passing is pretty bad

They have one guy think he’s called Adam who is obsessed with us for some reason, he posts nearly every time we lose taking the piss.
I expect he will have a good few notifications today.

Better team won today, all over us second half. Burchnall’s completely unbalanced our team to shoehorn Brunt in, who has offered absolutely nothing. Pressure definitely on now.

Not a bad set of results for us today. Disastrous for Weymouth.

We look down the table, games in hand, we loof up the table games in hand, no a bad position to be in, from where we were.

Good game I thought. Daggers looked very threatening with some quick passing and counter attacking in the first half but second half we didn’t give them a sniff. We didn’t really create any gilt-edged chances but we didn’t have to cos they just like dangling feet in their box for our lads to trip over. Deserved win but really enjoy how Daggers play football. Fucking freezing.

Oh well always the trophy. Imagine having Balanta, McCallum, Walker and Morais and not making play offs a complete failure from McMahon. Two full seasons now with a very good budget and he has screwed it up big time, shame we will never sack him.

Really enjoyed the game some nice football played by both teams so credit to daggers for their 1st half display it sometimes looked like the final ball was just missing but sir Jeff king wow

Some of the notts fans you think are like 14 years old on our Twitter pages then you realise there actually grownup men with kids it’s quite bizarre

As opposed to the perfectly normal Chesterfield contingent on Twitter, this would be??

Anyway, very weird game at the Lane today. Notts 1-up with a wonder goal by Roberts, then missed a couple of sitters to extend the lead. Grimsby get a bizarre pen and miss it, but are the better side from then on, rattling the bar and Taylor firing over.

The Mariners come out all guns blazing 2nd half but it looked like we’d weathered the storm until Taylor scrambled home with 15 minutes left. Then Notts’ turn to be on top with a load of corners and Crocombe making a couple of saves, it looked like the Grimsby predictions on here would come true and we could nick a late winner, with Hurst seemingly happy with a point. However a loose ball, daft foul by Lacey with the ball apparently safely going to the keeper (assume that’s why he wasn’t sent off), and we concede from a set piece again. Looked like Efete got the final touch, was quite impressed with him.

Awful 2nd half from us, didn’t have much answer to Grimsby’s intensity, six points needed from Barnet and Dover next, no excuses.

But for those pesky Dagenham players committing fouls in the area, eh?!
Not knocking it but you've now successfully been awarded more penalties in 1 game than we have all season

This is bell-end obsessed with us, funny that he was busy trolling during the game when we missed the pen, aah karma is a fucking beautiful thing. :bg:

Yeah I was fully expecting the late winner to come from Notts and not us, haven’t had a feeling like that in football for a long time though so I’ll gladly take it.

Couldn't have been more spot on with this based on the first half. We are absolutely WANK at converting guilt edged chances. Ryan Taylor is just a ginger LJL, really hasn't been pulling his weight for months now, yet starts every game because Hurst never signed any competition for him.
Don't agree about Taylor at all, think he's been one of our best players this season. Streets ahead of Lenny. What are you not seeing? His link up play is great, he can hold it up and has a great touch for this level. Missed a decent chance today admittedly and it wasn't his best performance but he's been a very good signing in my opinion.
Can’t begrudge Grimsby that, better side second half, although thought we were going to nick it until that stupid foul that gave Grimsby the free kick.

Ugh, I hate football!
Can't understand how your man stayed on the pitch there.

Yeah I was surprised just how much you sat off us in the second half. Thought we fully deserved it overall. Would have been an absolute travesty to have got 0 points off you over the two matches. Was a frantic match though that could have gone either way. Wootton must have had an off day as he is exactly as I remembered him. Thought Roberts did indeed look quality though. Took his goal very well, one of those ones were I just knew he was sticking the ball away as soon as he brought it forward. Again though, for all our pressure we didn't carve out too many big chances.

Will have to see the pen decision again as it looked soft but not as mental as everyone in here is suggesting. Thought he barged McAtee (?) over zealously to win the ball. One of those seen-them-given ones on first view from the away end, for me.

Guess we were due an absolute stinker at some point. Hopefully a kick up the backsides though.

Not safe yet although Kings Lynn did us a favour - got to sort the home form out as 2 wins all season isn't good enough

I agree about Taylor he’s been great every time I’ve seen him and when he doesn’t play we seem to really miss him.

I’m hoping too that this result and the manner in which we got it might just kick start our season.

Sorry but I just think he really offers very little as a target man. Very rarely when the ball goes up to him does he find another town player with it - most of the time he just pointlessly flicks it on to a defender. I mean fair play to him he tucked the chance that fell to him away to make it 1-1, but I just think we could do a lot better than him. I think Gary Jones maybe spoiled target men for me, I'm always comparing them to him and nobody is ever going to quite hit the heights that lumpaldinho did.

I don’t think we sat back on purpose, we just couldn’t get out. You absolutely swamped us in midfield, at least until Vincent came on. It was a bit weird cos your two goals actually came later on once we’d got a bit of control back with the subs, but it was what you deserved for the first 25 mins of the half which was complete one way traffic.

We need to go back to basics a bit IMO. We have three outstanding attacking players, but that’s pointless today when we’re so intent on passing out but the other team is pressing us so much we can’t get out of our own half. Switch to 4-3-3, Roberts and Rodrigues off Wootton, and if we are being pressed then be willing to get them high up the pitch and the ball to them quickly. Roberts skinned your left back every time he got the ball today, he shouldn’t be playing as a fucking central midfielder picking the ball up and laying it off in his own half.

Well, that was abysmal.
But we aren't going to finish our obligatory 8th this season, no way.
We will probably finish 9th when Notts and Grimsby overtake us

Said the same - despite our upturn in form I don’t think we’ve played particularly well (maybe Eastleigh away being the exception) and were due a bit of a tonking, although surprised it came from Barnet.

To be honest I think we are safe now and I think the players feel the same - can’t see Weymouth gaining 13 points on us in 18 games, when they’ve only got 17 from their 26 this season. I just wish Molesley would set us up more attacking now we’re pretty much safe - Harry P as a solo striker really does not work.

I’ve noticed a common theme here, Notts winner against us at BP, they celebrate it with the Notts fans.
Wrexham winner against us the other week and Palmer celebrates it with the Wrexham fans.
We get the winner today and celebrate it with the GTFC fans.
That’s what proper clubs do, celebrate with your own fans just like you always should instead of goading the opposition fans instead for no reason whatsoever, other than just to be complete bell-ends.
Please take note Bromley, Maidenhead etc.

Decent game in awful conditions, credit to both teams.
Town played it on the floor instead of the recent 'hoofball', much, much better.
Credit to Dagenham, looked dangerous, especially in the first half.
Mention also to both sets of fans, the referee, players for the 1 minutes stoppage/applause on 25mins to remember ex-player Jordan Sinnott who tragically lost his life having been assaulted whilst on a evening out in Jan 2020.

Not only did I get to celebrate a 92nd minute winner, I put £20 on waterfall to score it and it paid out when he didn’t even score it. £260 up and a cracking away day to boot
