Baffling game, think we can be a bit annoyed about Barratt not being sent off but only have ourselves to blame after that.

We can’t be considered title contenders while we keep dropping points against teams who are likely to finish near the bottom. I’ve no doubt we’re the best team in the league when we’re on it and knocking the ball about, but it’s about consistency and ruthlessness which Ardley can’t seem to get into us.

I've grave doubts we're the best team in the league. We've a soft centre and been giving goals away throughout pre season and now into the season.
second half was pathetic, Knowles and Rodriguess o not have an hour in them , Sam offers nothing at the moment.

There! That's the difference! Get the bodies into the box and press home the attack until the ball is in the net! :ds:

Yup, they’ve been ruthless, we’d have settled for 1-1 half an hour ago.

We’ll probably beat them twice or something, but over a season I would back them to be far more consistent than Notts in not dropping stupid points.

Stockport’s to lose now IMO.

I didn’t stream today’s game, would we have won with Roberts and an actual RB?

We were the better team throughout in my opinion. Chesterfield were a threat with that long ball up to that big ugly fucker up front and we need to deal with that better because most teams will have that type of player.

We played some good stuff at times and deserve the win in my view.

Going to be very difficult to stop. If you can have players like croasdale and Reid on the bench, you have a seriously good squad

Stockport's to lose now. They are top of the league straight away, as expected.

Jordan Williams is just back from injury and hasn't kicked a ball for us yet aswell.

People making out like we're plain sailing through these wins though. We've not done that in any game so far bar maybe Dover and we look pretty vulnerable at the back in my opinion. Teams will have seen the problems a big lump like that Denton gave us at times today.

I watched Wealdstone vs us the other day and thought they will take a few points off teams at their place this season. We were 2-1 down after 77 minutes. Won't be an easy place to go.

Solihull of course will sail throught it, being the Champions elect that they are.

Probably, but we’ve got a real issue against the bottom few teams either way.

Just seen the highlights, I have no idea how a botched goal kick by us ended up as our winner.

Was a nice flick and finish, to be fair, but yeah a little bit fortunate.

I know, but I’d have to bloody isolate in those circunstances!

Why? Unless you're in the public sector and get paid ,everyone else ignores it. People say they don't but they just nip to the shops, just baby sit the kids for an bour, just have to go to work for a couple of hours etc, etc.

We've had a different back four every game for whatever reason. Until we settle we'll keep letting in soft goals.

Shots blew it in the dying minutes of the game, which is becoming a frustrating habit. Only just about deserved to be ahead, because we wasted a number of chances to put the game to bed.
Great to be knocking in a few goals (and to reach the heady heights of mid-table )

Macauley Southam Hales couldn’t get into the squad of 16 today either and he’s been really good when fit and available. Still think we need a partner for Bennett.

Our start has been kind fixture wise and now ramps up with a lot of games against the top 10.

We’re in a relegation battle yet again, becoming quite chore following us at the moment and I don’t see us beating a village team next week. 2 goals in 5 games so far and I don’t think we’ve played anyone decent.

Only 15 fit players at the moment, no idea how long McCallum is out for but he could be the difference to us staying up or not.

We can all forget about Chesterfield as long they dont have anyone better than that big ugly fucker to front. :ds:

Wonderful result for the Stones. £7k a week wage bill for a part time side competing at this level for the first time in 32 years.

Precisely this, if the Stoneshare scheme is bolstering the playing budget then we’re looking at £330,000 for the season. Survival would be remarkable on that budget.

Good luck if/when the winter grind sets in. It’s difficult ,for part-time teams in particular, when injuries and heavy pitches take their toll.
It’s a long slog, a marathon not a sprint.

Wealdstone have a £7k a week wage bill? Never read such a load of bollocks in all my life.

Explain why? Do you think money grows on trees at our club? A club without a wealthy benefactor (we're fans owned) and zero non match day revenue streams other than a clubhouse that has pretty much been shut due to the pandemic? We now have zero full time staff at the club to cut costs and even let one of our first team coaches go last week because we can't afford him.

We've sold 500 season tickets, raised just under £60,000 from supporters via a StonesShare scheme and make money from streaming home games. And that's it. Even £7k is a stretch for the club and only achievable because of the £60k raised in the last few weeks.

Think claiming we got lucky in that game is pushing it.

Promotion as far as I’m aware was earned on a weekly wage bill in and around the £6k a week mark

A budget of £280,000 was disclosed at the club’s AGM during the summer which likely would have been more but the club’s two main revenue streams are either not available or severely reduced. The Stoneshare scheme and other sponsorship that’s come in has probably raised the weekly wage bill to around the £9k mark.

Alty and Weymouth also can’t be paying out that much.
