Impressive.
Has Grimsby's away following gone up since you've been out of the FL? My memory of league games involving Grimsby didn't include turnouts of this volume.
This was the highest away following of the night, I had assumed it would be bettered by Reading to Brighton - similar distance - they took 299 which is scarely believable in shiteness.

It's kind of making me angry - Mr Fenty, our chairman, in a recent interview comes out with ridiculous propositions like - if the 1,800 fans at Halifax had really got behind the team instead of abusing them we might have come back from the 3 goal start the team donated to the Shaymen. And he says Hurst was quoted out of context when he said that the fans have been "spoilt" - well tell your manager to feckin select his words more carefully then. And then bleats on about us overachieving because we only have the 5th highest playing budget (is that before or after the 100k the fans donated?). And we actually doing really well because we might win the FAT. Most clubs in League 1 and 2, and a few, it seems, at Championship level, would love to have our away support. The chairman and manager need to change their tune - thank the fans loudly and alot for their incredible away support, and tell us so far we've not been good enough - because we haven't, and that the clubs are working their socks off to get us back where the fans deserve to be. RANT over...

. Even pro-rata, 51 is not decent - it's bang average. That's just 3% of your home attendance, for a team aiming for automatic promotion. Purely as a comparison rather than a boast, we took nearly 8% over a similar distance today to Dover. Looking at other teams figures, there are plenty pushing over 10% too.

A chart of the % of home fans traveling to away fixtures would be interesting.

930 tickets sold for the derby tomorrow. Not bad all things considered but compare that to the 1500 we had at Tranmere and its clear the effect the bubble is having.

Aye, that's pretty much what I thought we'd shift to be honest.

Looking forward to our usual 13 mile jaunt down the road in to our hour long North Wales tour tomorrow. In case you don't quite know how it works it's not just having to go on the coach, the police actually stop all of the traffic and close the slip roads as the convoy passes. Every bridge we pass under on the A483 is likely to be manned as well. It is quite amusing watching it all through the window.

Jesus, I thought the police operation for our game was bad. How the fuck do they get away with such a massive waste of resources?

God knows.

They send us out to Queensferry and back in again as well, so it means we leave the Deva and England up that way to Queensferry in Wales, back in to England again to get on the A483 before heading off in to Wales again. All to avoid Chester city centre. It's mad really, the chopper will no doubt hover over us the whole way as well.

What is pretty good is that all 900 fans will be in the car park at the Deva as the team bus leaves, giving the players a good send off and all that.

The bubble obviously puts off a few, but it's probably more due to you not having been to Prenton Park for 25 years, that you took 1,500.

We've been given 2,000 unreserved tickets for PP, not sure why they didn't make it 2,500 and have reserved seating?

Should have given you 1200 in my opinion.

Bubble sounds ridiculous and a criminal waste of my money as a taxpayer.

I imagine that unreserved seats mean less stewards required to police the seating. Are you going to sell all of them or will that depend on whether Wrexham are still in with a chance of the play-offs post Easter?

1200 x £17 = £20,400.
2000 x £17= £34,000.

Let the Heddlu and Cheshire's finest cost their respective clubs money, but at this level we can't say no to a possible £14,000 extra gate receipts just out of spite. We've still got 13,000 seats to fill out with our own support (in theory), so it will be nothing like either away game to Wrexham/Chester. I'm quite proud we offered Chester a hog roast and invited them into a 'friendly derby', even if their police didn't let them do the same. Hopefully Wrexham has a similar vibe.

On the note of invites, any FGR fans coming tomorrow are more than welcome in the Fan Park pre-match - big screen, plenty of beers and food available (not sure how much, if any, is veggie/vegan though) and the money would be supporting 5th tier football as opposed to the local pubs (The Prenton Park, literally 20 paces from the away end, is apparently a 'Liverpool pub'). It's being run by the Tranmere Trust/Supporters Club, so please feel free to support it. Cheers.

We'll take 1,500 if there's nothing to play for, sell out obviously if we've got a chance of getting in the top 5. The only time we took less than 2,000 when we went there three times in in the early-mid 2000's, was about 1,600 and in typical Wrexham style, it was the only one we won of the three.

Should have given you 1200 in my opinion.

You'll get the full 2,000 next season as the required work has now been carried out and that capacity has been increased from 1,200.

Think that was an early ko on the Saturday. Can remember the Wrexham winner,a worldie from one of your defenders, Ray Mathias harshly being sacked after the loss and some organised hooliganism from Rovers so-called fans resulting in a large number of Football Banning Orders.

Shaun 'the Hammer' Holmes.

Fantastic scenes when that rocket went in.

It only holds 2,300, but I get your point. It was the same for us at Chester. My best guess is that we don't have a database of which seats are damaged, and there are a few, so it's probably just easier to sell unreserved.

183 Bognor Regis supporters at Blundell Park, great effort from them.

Would estimate around 130 Aldershot fans at Altrincham. Looked about 100 behind the goal and there would have been the usual 30-40 sat in the main stand.

FGR fans at Prenton Park watching their thug like village circus of a side make absolutely zero attempt to play football. Spent the entire game time wasting and fouling. I have massive respect for anyone supporting a club down in these depths of the football pyramid but you really wouldn't own up to following this joke.

I've never been one for getting involved in the slating away followings bandwagon, but that really is pretty poor.

must have been free coaches, free beer and free burgers on the coach for FGR to get that many...

Why?

It's miles away, (330 mile round trip) and it wasn't free travel.
