Very good away support from Dover today. Must have been 100 there.

Respect to the 43, I once went to a night game in Torquay with the Imps when we were FL and playing ok, that was bad enough!

My days of crazy things like that are long gone, went to Exeter for a midweek game many years ago.
Fair play to 'em I say watching a team who are so bad away from home must soul destroying.
But Bob says we have the right man for the job so what do us fan knows, apart from our board are clueless!

I'm trying to think of the most stupid one I've been to.

Legged it down to MK Dons straight after work for our game on Sky on a Monday night just after Xmas in 06/07. Blowing a gale, pissing it down the rain and we got there right on KO to be housed in the most exposed stand I think I've ever been in:

Someone's just posted on our facebook page saying there's a group of around 30 rovers fans that live in and around kidderminster are going in the Kidders end saturday to support the harriers

Luton fans did the same when we beat Cambridge to secure them the title last season. But I don't think it will end as happily for you guys

Torquay's a great place, usually good for a weekend away. I know your game was midweek but still worth making a couple of days of it if possible.

I'm going way back now but I remember that for some reason Torquay used to kick off at 7:30 on a Saturday. I can just remember a couple of decent weekends in successive seasons down there, when I was in my teens, even if we did lose both games 3-1,

One of the best for me was when we played Plymouth away in 1987. I went on the supporters bus and we left at midnight and most people on the coach (including me and my mate) had been out on the lash on the Friday night and several carried on drinking on the coach (there weren't the restrictions back then). We'd arranged for a pub in a village just outside Plymouth to open at 9am for us so at just after 8am a coachload of drunken Mariners arrive, much to the amazement of the locals.

After the landlord opened a bit early for us and we'd all had breakfast and a few more pints we headed into Plymouth where more beer was consumed. The match itself was totally forgettable (apart from the cornish pasty at half-time) and we lost 5-0!! Unfortunately this was Nigel Batch's last ever game for us, which was a shame for him to end his Grimsby Town career on such a low note. He signed for Lincoln after he left us I think.

On the way back we stopped at Burton for a couple of hours and finally got back to Grimsby about 1.30am on the Sunday morning.

That was back in the day when I could drink all day, I doubt my liver would take a similar trip now!

A load of our fans did similar when we were fighting it out against Barnet for relegation.
Penultimate game of season their game in hand was away at Accrington and we badly needed Barnet to lose, which they did 1 - 0.
You can all guess how that season ended up, as we are now down here!! :ffs:

We drove to watch us play at Blackpool in 97/98 on a Bank Holiday and didn't allow for the extra traffic.
Stuck in traffic listening to the 1st half on the radio we scored early and were bouncing around in the car!
Finally got to the ground just before half time, just as we were walking down the alleyway to the disgusting away end we heard a massive cheer, either we'd taken 4000 fans there or the fuckers had equalised!!
Then paid full price to watch a dogshit 2nd half where we scraped a 2 - 2 draw with a late Groves penalty.
But we ended up going to Wembley twice that season so not all bad..... :D :D

113 Eastleigh at Lincoln in a crowd of 2,132
No offence to the Eastleigh fans but the club shouldn't of put them in the Stacey West stand today considering we had a minute's silence pre match to the passing of 56 including the 2 Lincoln fans who died who the stand is named after, IMHO it should of been left empty as a mark of respect as for many years that part of the ground was traditionally the home end but hey our board are a clueless bunch of morons,
