A match up of the so-called big budgets next weekend, as Notts County and Luton try and improve their indifferent seasons so far. County have had a week off as their exotic squad head off for their European qualifiers, whilst Luton will be boosted by the return of a couple of their own players made unavailable by Northern Ireland.

Luton are improving every game. Despite horrific form dating back to the back end of last season, they've now had 2 consecutive and earned only their 9th win in 9 months this calendar year against a physical and battling Cambridge United.

Supposedly just over 700 tickets have been sold by Luton fans so far, with more being received this week. I'm hoping to get a ticket - very easy to get to from Luton by road or rail (just 90 minutes from Luton). I think the £24 ticket price may have put a few off, but I still expect us to sell over 1000 for this one.

Luton could line up in a variety of ways, however I think we will remain virtually unchanged, with perhaps McGeehan and McCourt getting places on the bench.

The combined squad size for these two sides is 237, so I look forward to seeing which lucky sods are chosen to start the game.

Get the excuses in early for why you don't fill the away stand. Yep, the tickets cost a couple of quid more than most other places in a league where travel costs are a fucking nightmare.

It IS the most expensive ticket in the league, I believe. Still costs £40ish for a rail fare too!
I think 1000+ is a decent turnout, is it not? How many does the away stand hold?

5,000 odd, you'll be rattling around in the far corner, which will kill the atmosphere nicely.

We'll win if our chances fall to McLeod and not the other oafs, probably.

Do Luton have a big budget?

Why didn't anyone mention this before now?

I have a feeling we will get a result here. Mcloed has added some zip to our front line. We will go to win, cause we only seem to play 424. Any idea when Milsom is back?

I think if we come away with a point id be reasonably pleased, and hopeful of going into back to back home games of putting together a run of victories.

The past 2 league matches have seen gradual improvement and I think ball players like Green, Mackail Smith and McQuoid should hopefully come into the game with a bit of confidence and a greater understanding of each others play. I wouldnt change the team that started on Saturday as it was starting to click at the end there and nobody did anything to say they should be dropped and McCourt hasnt done anything to put himself back in the side for me over Guttridge or indeed Green.

I hope Notts County dont have a decent left winger though, O'Donnel still concerns me.

Really looking forward for this one. Potential to be a cracker. If the Villa / Mansfield JPT team turn up, we will be too good going forward and fancy a 3-1 win. However, if the Morecombe team turn up, a 3-1 defeat.

I do however believe that our early inconsistent gelling period is about over and with the likes of Thompson, milsom and noble returning and with stead Having a week off we look strong. The players will be thankful of the rest having played games twice a week since the opening weekend and I think this weekend it will just 'click' for us.

McLeod will score goals for fun in this team and fully expect a 25 goal season from him. The amount of chances we have created this season that haven't been put away has been worrying. We just haven't had the man to stick em away. Now we do.

For this I'd go

Loach
Hewitt Swerts Hollis Amevor
Noble Aborah Thompson
Snijders McLeod Burke

Burke into the middle and Campbell/ De Silva out wide if Thompson is still injured.

My first Luton away trip since Kidderminster in 2011.

Looking forward to a far better standard of football then the crap I've been watching so far this season.

Whichever way you want to look at it, 24 quid is too much for division 4 footy.

Luton will get something out of the game, in other words, County won't win.

+£1 booking fee (at our end) + £0.60 postage!
We've sold out our initial 938 allocation this morning by the way, so more are being sent today.

Guessing no pay on the day for this then?

I'd like to go but I won't know if I can until Friday evening probably and don't want to buy a ticket and not use it.

Can't believe you can tell the future and choosing to use it by telling us Luton's results, instead of helping us solve global issues, or becoming a billionaire by playing the stock market to perfection.

Haha, it's actually quite simple - your foreign, ahem, stars will need more than a week to get back to their best after playing some highly competitive international football for their respective 'countries'. You lot also have a poor home record ;)

We've only played two games there. :(

Only one of our globetrotters actually played 'en all, in a glorious win for Togo over Djibouti.

What is it about fans from provincial towns liking a day out in the big city?

Anyone for a seventeen minute philosophy talk in which Moniz manages to slag off the whole of Holland, our team last season, Newcastle United, the rest of the Premier League, half of our current team, the whole of current humankind, the people of both Hungary and Austria, idealists, conservatives, people who use Powerpoint, his former clubs, agents and son-in-laws? Thought so.

Can't drop Burke, been our best player recently. Don't know who you do drop, though. Stead on recent form, but I imagine we want him and McLeod to strike up an understanding. Probably Adam Campbell, harshly.

I think a supporting three of sneijders Burke and Campbell would be too lightweight. Hence my inclusion of Stead

So Jon Stead isn't as all he was cracked up to be. 50 goals this season wasn't it? Second only to Matt Green?!

Stead has done okay but he doesn't really suit the really quick way that we're trying to play. Doesn't do a lot wrong, but has a tendency to slow it down.

Chief willy-waver accuses most pessimistic fans on OFF of hyping up a player.

He'd be good if we played 442 and were direct - hence his success at Bradford - but we play 433 and have a preference for quicker attackers who can counter and run in behind...so he's a bit pointless.
