I think I need a little help Aber. I just realised I had 5 Manowar albums down on my list, but that would look silly wouldn't it? Which one is your personal fav Aber mate? Is 'Into Glory Ride' a better album than 'Fighting the World' or 'The Triumph of Steel'? What about 'Sign of the Hammer'?

DEATH TO FALSE METAL!!!
My personal favourite is kings of Metal because it has Pleasure Slave on it. They're all FUCKING AWESOME METAL though so which ever you pick will FUCKING ROCK.

I spent approximately two minutes making my list, guaranteed that I forgot something important. Whatever it is, I hope someone else nominated it...

Two minutes? I hope Tilbury disregards your list and disqualifies you immediately. I spent 5 whole days locked up in my listening room, carefully listening to music through high end headphones (so I can hear every little detail that was recorded by the artist), and must have gone through some 8,000 albums before I was anywhere near my top 10. It was torture, believe me, especially since I didn't have time to eat/sleep/go to the bathroom, but this sure is serious business, so I definitely think the sacrifice.I made was worth it.

Only one little problem though - I think I'm losing my hearing. Can't imagine why :dk:

Ps - Tilbury, how many of us have sent you a list then?

I'm really sorry guys, have had a nightmarishly busy bank holiday weekend (not much fun mostly work) so I'll get this organized and going tomorrow afternoon. We have 13 lists in, so probably just enough to make it worthwhile.

Yeh got that thanks. Will finish adding everything up tonight and get some polls sorted for tomorrow morning to start the voting off.

Perhaps it's for the best. Something awful like Queen or U2 would probably have won.

Yeah. Coz most of the U24s won't register to vote and those that do will not bother voting.

Did Val Doonican make the list ahead of Bono in the end?

I'd be glad to, but I'm lost on the scoring system. Also, what happens if two members have picked the same album?

It would be brilliant if you could take this on Paul. Could maybe PM Tilbury regarding the scoring system. If not devise your own, depending on time constraints etc.

I think the idea was that the lists would decide the finalists and then Tilbury would have set up groups of the albums chosen and then had a vote for each group. Top two would go through to the knockouts etc.

I could be wrong though. Make your own up though!

Ok I'll have a look. If I did it, it would just be a regular tournament setup. On saying that, there's the possibility of 130 albums? That's a lot. Would possibly have to do groups of 10 to start off to narrow it down to 16/32?

Ok, if people want to send me their lists just so I can gauge how many albums I'm dealing with. I'm hoping to do around 12 preliminary groups where the top 2 go through until we have a list of 24. In honour of the (now finished) Euros, we'd do the top 2 and the third place teams etc etc.

Right, I'll set a deadline for lists for Friday 9pm. Any of the (supposed) 12 that hasn't sent their list, I'll tag you in a couple of days.

I don't know how this works exactly. I'm thinking an album I've picked goes up against someone's else's choice right? So what happens if I pick an obscure album that very few people have heard of let alone listened to it all the way through and this comes up against some well known/liked album by some crappy band like Queen/Manowar/Ghost?

I think that atm, Alan is more interested in navigating Tibet and discovering the real meaning of life from Buddhist monks than a top 10 music album list. :2thumb:
