What is the point of a Football Studies degree?

This! Back in the day people used to go out to work, learned their trade, become bloody good at it and learned from experience.
Nowadays, if you haven't sat a module or a course and got a shiny certificate to say you studied a subject you can't get a job.
I've seen people lose jobs because they won't take a course to get a piece of paper to say they have studied their chosen job. Yet they have more years life experience and work experience in that field than a person who has a shiny certificate.
Hell! You need a f*cking certificate to shovel shit on a building site these days!
Why does everything have to be over analysed these days?!
