Well we go again I suppose. After two abysmal results we go to Reading who were the best side I've seen at the Gate, so I'm not expecting anything here.

Just hope the players give something to the few that's travelling, it's been a long time coming!

However I'm going for 2-0 Reading.

I wasn't aware of that JJH. I didn't even know POTD was an option to be fair. Should be a good laugh if nothing else and 4,500 at the Baggies the following week should pick our averages up a bit. If only we could stop getting stuffed every week we could be on to something good! :hb:

EDIT: Just seen the POTD announcement on the City site. 3K+ then.

We haven't played anywhere near as well as that since the beginning of October. The last few performances have been decent but we lost both matches.

If any of you Bristol City fans on here are driving then the best place to park is The World Turned Upside Down pub on the Basingstoke Road by the Travelodge. Free to park there and it's a 10/15 minute walk to the ground. Fairly quick getting back on the M4 after the game as well.

We're gonna win this. Tell you why, we haven't followed up a performance all season, good or bad.

Go all the way back to the Fulham debacle, we beat Wolves a few days after. Then got embarassed at Rotherham but followed it up with a good win at Huddersfield. Thumped by Derby before our best display in a while against QPR. We all know about Charlton and then battered at Burnley.

Following the trend, we'll put in a really spirited performance, get in front with an early Kodjia goal and then defend manfully and hold out for a comfortable 1-0 and could've had more with a couple of breaks on the counter. At the end the whole team and staff will come over to a raucous away end with 3K+ chanting "One Steven Cotterill", we'll make a couple of good signings in the week, everyone will be all upbeat and we'll go and lose 6-0 at West Brom.

All joking aside CH, I would take that! Getting battered in the cup doesn't bother me in the slightest, that's why I'm not going to the Hawthorns (been there loads of times anyway), staying up does bother me so it's the league games all day for me.

I'd love a cup run, we've literally never had one in my lifetime (JPT aside) but yeah, if you had to pick which game to win it would be Reading all day long

Reading their forum, there's a poster on there that thought we were shite against Charlton. If he thought that was 'shite' we can show him a whole new level of shiteness on Saturday!
Should be a laugh anyway.

We were pretty shite in front of goal! If that's what he meant. But you only have to look at the league table to realise we aren't very good...

Most goals conceded in the league tells you all you need to know!

The same reason 3,000+ of us are going Dave. What that reason is, gawd knows!
If we expect nothing (which I do as well), we might get a surprise. I doubt it but you never know.

Indeed, happy new new fellas.
Here's to a good 2016 for our beloved reds!
I'm a member of my local social club and at midnight the landlord asked me if my 15 year old wanted something' stronger than a coke as it's the new year party. I have never seen a pint of Thatchers disappear so quickly! #GETTINGBLOODYOLD :(

Has anyone else read Tetbury Massives' post on the 'let me get this straight' thread on OTIB?
I gather he has an excellent track record for being accurate but his post about deals during the summer is scathing.
IF it's true, I cannot defend SL over the summers' cock ups. I assume what happened cost John Pelling his job as well.

Thanks for pointing that out Ciderup, just had a read of it. Wow.

Which is why I've been saying the board are responsible, not SC. Don't know how people thought it was the two experienced football men (SC/KB) that got the figures wrong.

Like most things in football, the manager is the easy target. But as I've said on here and OTIB, the same patterns ermerge manager after manager.

Makes me respect Cotts more, knowing he was willing to stick it out. Like he said in his post-match Burnley interview, the fans are a big factor in what keeps him going. He wants what's best for the club and has proven what he can do when given the resources, last year.

Incredibly naive and downright sneaky by SL if he did that while SC was away. It doesn't bode well for this window either!

Our players absolutely HAVE to be up for this one infront of 3000+ travelling fans and after two absolutely gut wrenching results. Unfortunately, being up for it isn't enough when 90% of your squad simply aren't good enough for this level. 2-0 Reading and happy new year fellow reds.

Rip off considering it's only about 80 minutes by train. Unless you book weeks in advance the cost of train tickets is a fortune. I was going to get the train up to Huddersfield for our cup game up there next week but it would cost me £114. Paid £20 for the coach instead.

Train prices are a joke, the only way you'll get a decent price on it is if you book over 12 weeks in advance, but then you obviously run the risk of the game date being changed with Sky and all that. I would have gambled on it if I was planning on travelling to this game via train.
