Maybe someone's heard that an exciting pacy Wrexham forward is in talks and they are confusing Jackson with York.

Him going to Chester or Macclesfield would be very believable. No chance on Jackson.

other than the fact we are after players ranging from the championship to the Evo-stick league I have no firm idea who we are after (other than ex-loanees) - but wouldn't be surprised if Jackson, Fyfield and Connar Williams (perhaps him less?) were of interest to Cox - If I was to pick 1 it would be Fyfield though

Our clubs has released its retained list today.

Players offered new contracts:
  • Shwan Jalal
  • Ritchie Branagan
  • Andy Halls
  • Dan Cowan
  • Neill Byrne
  • George Pilkington
  • David Fitzpatrick
  • Paul Turnbull
  • Paul Lewis
  • Danny Whitaker
  • Chris Holroyd
  • Danny Rowe
  • Reece Styche
Players already signed for next season:
  • John McCombe
  • Jack Sampson
  • Chris Sutherland
So just as expected, pretty much everyone offered new contracts. Great news that John McCombe is already signed up.
Edit: Branagan, Pilkington, Holroyd & Lewis all signed new deals.

Contracts offered to:

Nathan Blissett, Dan Butler, Angus MacDonald, Courtney Richards, Aman Verma, Toby Ajala, Shaun Harrad, Sam Chaney, Luke Young and Ben Gerring.

Durrell Berry will remain with the club through his injury.

Players going back to parent loan:

Nathan Smith, Brendan Moore, Josh Rees, Andre Wright

Players not entering contract negotiations with the club:

Danny Racchi, Amos Kabeya, Iffy Allen, Exodus Geohaghon, Liam Prynn, Oneil Odofin

Not unhappy really - we all knew Racchi would not remain beyond the summer as he wants a club back up north. Shouldn't be hard for him to get one as he's been decent here - Halifax again, perhaps?

The one I am disappointed with is Iffy Allen, he has been class. Can only assume that's his decision not to enter contract negotiations rather than Nicholson's.

I am disappointed to see Racchi and Allen leave. Racchi did want to stay but we don't have enough in the budget to offer him a good enough deal to relocate from up North, so there's a chance he might be back if he doesn't get a decent offer elsewhere or some extra room gets made in our budget. Not sure why Allen wasn't offered anything, as he did very well for us when he did play. If he's not been offered anything because he wasn't interested in staying then it bodes well for the other 10 who were, as I'd like to see them all stay.

Yep - wouldn't be surprised to see Allen go to one of the clubs in this league with more money, or even back into the FL.

Hoping for O'Kane to move from Bournemouth for a couple of million as that would come in handy!

Our absolute shambles of feckless degenerates and gutless wasters are meeting with the manager today and yesterday. This will soon become my absolutely favourite thread on the whole forums.

i was reading last night that Mills has had a change of heart with York, and has offered him a new reduced contract to see if he wants to stay

probably as a result of Jackson going, who i have heard Rochdale and Birmingham are interested in

skimming the lists above, i wouldnt mind Kaid Mohamed. we had him on trial in 2009/10 season i think and he did really well yet Madcap Saunders didnt sign him up. i know he signed for Eastleigh just before their 3rd round game, how has he been for the final half of the season for you lot?

Is this actually true or is it just RP wittering?

I wouldn't say no to Kaid Mohammed but I doubt we'll have a chance of getting him.

Kaid played about 6 games for us and then we sent him out on loan to Tamworth!
We bought in other loan players to replace him, who never even got on the pitch!, so it was a strange short stay for him at EFC.
Tbf, i thought Kaid did ok in the games he played, but the general consensus was that his work rate and attitude were both poor, hence the quick exit.

FA Trophy hero Jason Walker and promotion-winning captain Simon Grand are leaving Barrow AFC after being told they will not be offered a contract for next season.

The duo are among eight players not being offered a new deal by Bluebirds boss Paul Cox.

Local youngsters Alex Newby, Danny Eccles and Brad Carroll are also leaving AFC, along with Paddy Lacey, Mo Fofana and Dan Pilkington.

Alex-Ray Harvey, Andy Parry, Steve Williams and Elliot Newby will all be offered deals to keep them at Holker Street for next season.

All good decisions to me. Walker has left because of money, others are all Conference North at best. Our squad now looks very slim, but we've reportedly got plenty of signings lined up.

Wingers Kenny McEvoy and Josh Carson first out of the door, with many more to come.

Kenny is pacy and tricky but a bit lightweight, but can probably do better than us. Josh might have to drop a level to get first team football as he's not been the same player since he got a bad injury at Portsmouth the other season.

Any of the leavers Manchester-based?

Not sure about Pilkington - think he's Cheshire. But I could see Walker, Grand and Lacey being looked at by North-West clubs in the Conf North. The rest are kids and I'd imagine Fofana might sign for Oxford City again.

No problem whatsoever with any of ours that have left, apart from maybe Hudson as he's still very young but part of me thinks he's still got a part time football brain. He's much better than people think though, especially his passing ability.
Most fans will point at Manny Smith, but I completely understand it. He's looked very dopey at most home games I've seen this season and is far from the player he was the season before! Pushed far too easily off the ball too.
Wes York was the easiest decision in my opinion. Such a frustrating player. He doesn't know how to be a winger and he looks like he doesn't know how to shoot half the time (weird technique). Plus I think he's got a drinking problem too.
Rob Evans has got to prove himself this season now, he's not a youngster anymore, he has over 100 appearances. He looked lost far too many times in midfield this season though..

George Swan, Femi Ilesanmi, Taron Hare, Josh Carson, Kenny McEvoy, Michael Coulson, Emile Sinclair and Ben Hirst are all released. It was already reported that Coulson is off to St Johnstone.

Jake Hyde and Vadaine Oliver transfer listed.

Apparently the manager has yet to meet with Danny Galbraith, Callum Rzonca and Derek Riordan. I'd guess that none of these are staying.

Offered contracts to Russ Penn, Luke Summerfield, Dave Winfield and Michael Ingham. I'd imagine Ingham and Penn might sign.

Scott Flinders, James Berrett, Matty Dixon and Reece Thompson all contracted for next season.

That's quite an accusation to make

Apparently I can't send a link yet, but I have one.

A few of our players have been like this the past season.. Not all abusive though, just stupid and unprofessional.

Thank you, I was indeed DSL! I think my old username was SteveWAFC or something (I'm very creative with usernames..). But yeah I used to participate in the predictions page and write match reports whenever I could.

Gray and Hudson are worse for the old booze than York is.

How likely is it you will offer Tomlinson a deal?
