Hopefully O'Connor fucks off back to the Conference so we can avoid his guaranteed two goals and gleeful over-celebrations against us next season.

I didn't like Lee Pidgeley all that much when he was on loan here. He looked fairly poor in the games that I saw.

Injuries the reason why you've released Ismail?

Hard to say, by the looks of the numbers released today probably just a case of Butcher having his own ideas and wanting a clear-out, but it may have been a factor I guess. He's one I would have liked to see stay personally, always did a good job for us (when he was fit!)

Would Barnet have any interest in taking him back?

I'd take him at Exeter. Always thought he's looked pretty decent when I've seen him.

Really glad Newport have released Lee Minshull, everytime I've seen him he's been surrounding the ref trying to get someone sent off or being a thug himself.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Has the released/transfer lists given you a bit more optimism re Curle, BigDaveCUFC ? You said a couple of weeks back that you were worried that the upturn in form would result in us keeping some of the crap.

He's pretty much going to start again with the defence and the midfield which is what.
.

I am sorry for late reply I only get on here in small spells and forget posts to reply to.

I see come August as to whether or not I have more hope in Curle. I do not mean by whether we have a good start or not as I won't call for his sacking next season, once we hit June I firmly believe whoever is our manager needs a full season, which is why I debated whether to change now while we had time.

but my big worry with Curle is he splits the camp and the reality is afew of the players he wants out may not be gone by August and if that is the case I want Curle this time to learn from his huge mistakes this season and give those players who didn't go a proper chance and not split the squad up in some attempt to try and p*ss them players off enough that they will go because if they ain't gone by august they won't be going and we may aswell use them.

I just have a horrid feeling of a Collins/Kavanagh style split camp, no unity, terrible team morale etc, etc.

I'd be happy to have him back to add to the squad to compete with N'Gala and Stephens (if Stephens does indeed re-sign).

On the very unlikely chance that everyone Curle wants in and out from our current squad actually stays and goes, I think we'll do well next season. In fact I think as long as Paynter and Sweeney go (unlikely), Gillespie signs up (likely) and Atkinson and Kennedy sign up (Kennedy very likely, Atkinson?) we should do well anyway because I think Curle should make a few decent signings and ones with the right attitude hopefully. I'm surprised Kennedy hasn't attracted more interest to be honest, given his performances for us and the fact that he was a starter for Bradford at the beginning of the season.

I'd also agree on the keeping Curle point. Nobody wants a third consecutive September managerial sacking so it'd be worth giving him at least the majority of the season to get his team playing. Nobody seems to be mentioning us for play-offs or anything either, despite us still having one of the biggest budgets, so less pressure on us which is also a positive.

From the noises I'm hearing, Gillespie signing a new deal isn't all that likely.

A number of league 1 clubs are apparently in contact with him.

Well that's a bit shit isn't it. Oh well - get a bit of money for him and then get someone else in. That Tranmere keeper played a blinder against us when we won 2-0 at their place, maybe we can poach him?

Fon Williams? Yeah I'd like him. Hopefully MG will sign his contract but with league 1 clubs in the frame (Bradford one of them from what I've heard as well as Blackpool) it may be difficult.

I can't say i'd be surprised if he opted to go up a league as he's the best keeper we've had since the great Keiren Westwood, although given how little he's played recently I don't know why any team in League 1 would take a risk on him as he'd surely only move for a first team spot and therefore a first team wage. We ought to get a decent compensation package for him as well assuming we offer him an improved contract.

Praying? Not quite. I'd have him back though if Widdowson doesn't renew his contract.

He's certainly better than our other LB, Connor.

Bradley Tarbuck the first of our players to find out he's been released. He made one or 2 sub appearances, I'm not really sure why I'm posting this as it'll be the last time he's ever mentioned on a football forum.

It seems for sure Kevin Lisbie has gone, which is a shame as after 46 league goals, 111 appearances and a rather large part of the symbolism behind our success prior to last season; but he will be 37 for most of the next campaign and it seems as if age has caught up with him.

Rumours everyone else out of contract has been let go as well, guess we shall see what happens...

I assume Daggers fans will be praying for his return? They loved him when he was there!

Nah. Femi was more of a cult hero. He suited the John Still direct approach as his lack of technical ability wasn't exposed. In a Wayne Burnett passing side, he was found out horribly.

If Richard O'Donnell leaves as is expected this summer, I'd be surprised if Owain Fon Williams isn't a big candidate for Smith. Always had good games vs us.

Always liked Ismail Yakubu from when he played for Barnet a few years ago.

We need a centre half, and Keith Hill is renowned for non-obvious signings (randomFrench bloke from Grimsby, obscuretall winger from Aldershot. Yakubu is random enough to add to this list...

Plymouth fans why was Banton released? I remember when you signed him permanently you were very happy. Attitude issues, off to a higher level or just not worked out?
