Green and Bennett off. Matt Green has been absolutely pish today, glad he's been taken off. Better from Bennett again though.

When is Green not pish? Crofty described him well today when he came off. "Works hard but has no effect on the game."

Not so much about the scoreline as such but it’s impossible to defend Askey any longer after this especially the first half. With that said these players should not be allowed to get away with this, they should be ashamed to claim their wages.

This is making Grimsby must win and being honest right now it’s hard to make a case for it.

I'd have played on in that. Just play without offsides.

Tyrese Sinclair doing his dad a solid missing that penalty.

He's been pish even by his own standards today. I'd rather have Gibson starting, at least he tans it about and smashes into defenders.

FGR Abandoned. At 1-1 I would have liked potentially the game to continue and end that way but we're almost certainly going top of the league now.

Bizarre behaviour from Port Vale, who keep committing obvious fouls and moaning afterwards.

#11 in particular should have had two yellows by now through moaning at the referee!

Sinclair just missed a penalty for us which is a shame.

Adam Yates using the word gutless to describe this team. Can’t disagree with him.

And abandoned.
And rightly so.
Commentators and lineman could not see other side of pitch.
The camera always has better picture of pitch than human eye and it could not penetrate the mist.
Looks like Carlisle will be new League leaders at 5pm.

We're properly doomed, not a chance there's two worst sides than us

We've just lot to Stevenage and neither keeper made a save

Mansfield didn’t have to produce a single piece of quality to win that 4-0, mistakes galore, silly red card from a poor error in the midfield. It’s a horrific performance and lack of effort. The body language says it all. Improved a bit when Monty and Woz came on but with the red card game has gone.

Stevenage, Mansfield and Barrow. Won what 10 between them at the time we met and lost all three. Shameful.

Lads are getting away with it because no crowd, can you imagine that away end now at full time. Be like Accrington all over again.

Thankfully got a few more back next week and most of the shower from the first half can get bench warming.

One of the lowest performances... which worrying I said a week ago! Getting worse!

Much improved from us today, lost but had them completely under the cosh last 20 minutes which is an improvement from what we produce most weeks.

We've now lost to Grimsby, Southend, Mansfield and Stevenage the past few weeks, all teams around us. Our keeper has made 5 saves combined in those games. It's quite remarkable how teams will score any time they shoot at our goal.

If you're below us your club needs to have a serious look at themselves

Definitely didn't deserve to lose that one. Cambridge very much a long ball outfit it seems, which has surprised me. I think Hoolahan only got on the ball a few times, because they were launching it over the midfield so much. Has that been a feature of your poor run, Cambridge fans? Feel like you rode your luck at the end there and your first goal was a lucky deflection. Quality finish from Mullin for the second and you created a few other chances in the first half but other than that we were the better team there for me. James Hanson wins that one if he's fit, as it was your CBs did their job well because we didn't really threaten them until Matt Green had gone off.

Still a severe lack of goals, but we put up a fight in the second half, which makes a change. Hopefully Hurst can work his magic and get us back to one of those 1-0 teams, because giving the opposition a 2 goal head start is never going to work well.

We’ve been struggling for form a bit and a lot of that comes from our lack of ability to hold on to the ball ever since Boateng was crocked by Mansfield and Hoolahan being constantly played out of position on the wing. We’re not long ball by default but when we struggle we do revert to it out of desperation rather than any pre-defined tactic.

I didn’t watch it so no idea how the game went but it’s a useful win for us.

Christ that was easy.

I honestly think we’ve played much better recently, yet Stevenage aside that was as easy a win as we’ve had in a while. Walsall offered nothing. We played reasonably well considering the number of players we had missing.

Top of League 2. I can’t believe this is happening to me.

What was the Bolton sending off for.

BBC said a foul on the right wing so it was probably hand ball in the centre circle .

0-1 away from home. 3pts and into the play off positions. You'd take that all day long.

Hope I get a decent account off what went on and not a "we were shit but you were worse but you shit housed your way to a win" ...unless that's what happened.

He just clattered into your player....Greenidge is raw, but he would have been better sticking to cricket
You was the better team up until you scored then we over run you without having that killer touch.
Your club lacks ambition though waters will get you at least to the play offs and maybe promotion.
Keep him he is worth double next season.
As for Bolton i dont ex[pect at least 4 of them to be seen in a Bolton strip again

Listened to Askey on his interview there he sounds defeated to me. I really feel for him as these players have let him down but it’s clear a change needs to happen.

He always sounds like that! He should do the right thing after that today. It was as bad as anything Brown and Aspin served up. These hadn’t won in nearly a year at home! Stevenage had won 3 in 43 or something stupid!

It’s clear from today and Boxing Day many have stopped playing for him now.

Granted injuries have killed us but he signed most of the back up options!

Sending off killed us? Maybe from a chance of a fight back but it was the first half that killed us!
