Robinson is pretty consistent. Whatever the circumstances (and all 3 PPs involving Oxford have differed) he has called for 3 points.

He’s trying to keep their fans onside - a bit of Swindon baiting goes down well.

Taking his stance it seems more likely they will forfeit the 3 points by refusing a date.

In one way he does have a point. There should be some hard and fast rules when it comes to calling off a match due to Covid. And the calling off should be an entirely EFL decision - maybe based on a local health directive much the same as a local ref calling off a match due to weather conditions.

According to Wellens we contacted the EFL who initially said we should play, and we would have done, but then public health England stepped in and spoke to the EFL who then allowed STFC to postpone the game without points deduction.

So I don’t think Robinson has a leg to stand on re his request for the points. It’s also quite a dangerous precedent for Robinson to set given his desire to play whatever the situation. I know he tends to think before he speaks but I really do hope him and his staff aren’t in a situation where they have a Covid outbreak as he could end up looking very silly.

Artell confirmed PHE were involved in the 2nd Crewe PP as well.

So, are we saying any decision to call a game off is - club informs EFL they have a Covid outbreak. EFL then informs PHE who then is the sole arbiter of whether the match is called off or not?

I’m confused as to the ‘dance’.

See my post earlier Dan. Our CEO made no mention of health services, they said it was the club’s decision to notify the EFL. It was fairly obvious from the body language of him and our owner that they were not too impressed by some of the decisions taken.

When our game was called off Saturday we informed the EFL and asked if we could call the game off without getting a points deduction. They ordered us to play. PHE then informed the EFL to call it off.

Surely by now there must be a protocol in place for such things.

It does seem daft that there are no guidelines as such to follow when there's a positive test.

For me, if there are 3 or more positives tests than the game is postponed (bit like international call-ups). That said, unless there are some better constructed guidelines with regards to consistent testing at the same time for every Club (and costs covered) in the league then it's going to be all over the place.

In other news, Lambert rightly fined and given a touchline ban after Saturday's outburst at the end of the game.

Both Club's charged with failing to control their players after the red card challenge. I always find those kinda charges weird because every set of players react after a bad challenge. Unless it turns into a brawl then they might as well just leave it in my opinion.

I see Scunthorpe - or whoever - have called off their next 3 games.

This is going to get very messy.

8 Scunthorpe players tested positive and 10 having to self isolate as they have been close contacts. Now that is taking the piss. Clearly not been social distancing etc.

Maybe just 1 of them and was a super spreader.

This season isn’t going to finish.

That is the problem, no consistency across the Lg. Some games like Tranmere, Scunthorpe, Barrow (with the management out) etc being played and PHE don't seem involved but other games it seems PHE involved and games can't be played. Yet circumstances don't seem any different.

On Robinson turning down a date for the rearranged Swindon game, he said they'll wait until the Disciplinary hearing/process is completed. Crewe also still have their hearing to come as well but we have accepted a date for that game. Other clubs' also have hearings as well such as Leyton Orient.

From his comments on Sky, I think he is frustrated at the inconsistency of what is going on and the response by the FL and is throwing it back at them. I get from it also that he expects the Swindon game to be rearranged.

Three positives or three isolating? We have only one positive at the moment but three are isolating (two live with the one positive).

I honestly don’t think any of us will see the season out. Covid supposedly worse this time around, so another full lockdown looming. A month of that would be 8 games postponed for most clubs.

Disregarding our current position I’m not enjoying this season one bit.

I actually think the season would carry on if there was another ‘full lockdown’. I think there would be a few more exemptions than under the last lockdown.

Either, or, I suppose and like the international rule, they have to have been included in a matchday squad for 'x' amount of games or 'x' % of games.

I'm trying not to get too involved in this, as I don't have enough hours in the day to spend arguing with DannyC, but I must pull you up on this one.

Nothing could be further from the truth that Karl Robinson wants to play at all costs. We are one of the few clubs that test twice a week and have a rigorous regime at both the training ground and the stadium. Far more so than most. His frustration is with others that apparently are not so stringent.

Also, far be it from me to agree with Swindon fans, but I agree with yourself and Indian Dan that there really do need to be EFL regulations laid down and enforced, rather than the current shit show., and that's the other thing that's frustrating KR.
