According to our local rag we have 7 players come down with the virus, others are being tested today so a good chance our game will be off.

Edit,, 4 with the virus 3 in close contact will all miss the game, but flynn says he will put a side out of some sort so the game will go ahead.
Didn't you guys have a covid outbreak for the first game of the season at Oldham too? I am just relieved that this will go ahead, got some good value train tickets and Newport is one of the better trips as everything you need is by the station and town centre.

As for ourselves, we're missing our two Cypriot boys Hector Kyprianou and Ruel Sotiriou who are both away with the Cyprus U21 team. So we will be making two changes at least, I'd expect Callum Reilly to make his debut and Tyrese Omotoye to partner Harry Smith up front. But Aaron Drinan is back so he may well get the nod.

We've been ok away from home so far and collected two draws. Would imagine this will be another tight game too. Hoping we can build on what was a very impressive win last weekend.

Think you will find it was oldham who had the covid problem first game of the season, in fact this is the first time since football resumed last season that we have had any sort of covid problems, and flynn is not happy with the players who have refused to have the vaccine.

Northampton away. Will be a tough game but we have a good recent record at Sixfields. I will be happy with a draw.

Tranmere away. I've been about ten times before with a mixed record, but I have a few very happy memories of the place, not least the 2005 playoff semi, when Tranmere became increasingly dominant and desperate as they tried to overturn a two-goal deficit, finally succeeded in equalising with a couple of minutes remaining, but were so spent by the effort that extra time managed to be a little uneventful before the thrilling/gut-wrenching penalties.

Another good memory was that Hungary keeper from last night punching in the winner for us in 2010.

I'm not going tomorrow. A combination of work and a tightly poised Test series will keep me at home, but I'd expect around 800 Poolies to make the trip. Hopefully they'll be celebrating but I'll take a draw.

If we’re going to have a serious tilt at mid table mediocrity then we should fancy ourselves to roll these over.
I fancy at least 0-0, 1-1 if we’re lucky.
Cass looked ok the other night, dropped.
Johnson was terrible I’d expect him start.
Poundland pep still needs to work out how to shoehorn Worral and Rodney into his system, because it just isn’t working for me.
I’d leave Rodney out.
If Clarke starts Johnson before Cass,he seriously hasn’t a clue.

Rovers have bolstered the squad as the window shut, but it doesn't sound like many of the additions will be ready to start tomorrow. While I'm hopeful of breaking our recent scoring drought, less so of taking anything from Pools tomorrow.

So Salford havs had a poor start but their impressive 3-0 win against Newport last week was perhaps the start of them producing what they should be with the squad they have.

I’m thinking we’ll do really well to even get a point here. It’s arguably the strongest squad in the league visiting arguably the weakest. So a point would be a decent result on it’s own. But on the flip side, it would be another game without a win, no home win since 6th April and it would be another add on to our dreadful run of 6 wins in 30 games or whatever it is.
So we really could do with getting 3 points, even if it’s by total fluke. It’s all about staying up this season, so the occasional win would be absolute gold dust.

On super 6 I’ve put 2-0 to Salford so that’s what I’m sticking with.

Buzzing for today’s game - up the Bantams! In excess of 16,000 sold - more than 3,000 paying on the gate. Can’t fault the support thus far!

Really have no idea how our game will go today.

We have looked really solid at the back so far but toothless up front, still much better than anyone expected.

The worry is one poor performance could lead to confidence levels dropping and causing issues, would snap your hand off for a point today.

Watched Mellons interview last night, really funny he didn’t know the names of four of the new signings.
Is someone else bringing them to the club?

I’d be worried if he doesn’t remember Duffy, been training with us for around 6 weeks! Think MMs just moved house so might be a bit distracted.

There’s a strange set-up for bringing players in. Some recommended by ex agent Steven Beck, usually from the agency Triple S he’s linked with, mostly mediocre, some Micky’s suggestions, but the Chair Mark Palios seems to have the final say.

Conlon returns for Walker. Predicted that as you couldn’t drop Garrity on form.

I am a little surprised by it to be honest but yeah Garrity would have been very unlucky. No reflection on Walker though who has been pretty decent himself.

Only 3 outfield players on the bench for us - both Leeds lads are starting, so that's something to look forward to.

Boundary Park is just the right amount of shabby, like our place but 5x the size.

I went for that on the fan hub app. More points for me! Haha.

Shows how strong our squad is which at least if the injuries hit like last season stand us in a good place.

Think they’re available international weekends, but quite why…?

Aye the strength of the squad right now is Gibbo doesn’t even make the bench. That would have been unheard of a year ago.

Watch us go and get hammered now.

Maynard starts for Rovers, hopefully fitter than expected. Duffy also makes his debut and 3 at the back again. No real pace in the side, unsure how this will turn out.

Carlisle doing their duty I see.
Sounds a bright game at SJP with both sides spurning chances, we might have had the better of it but could be our commentators skewing my view.

Pools absolutely bossing this. I know we go on about him but Jamie Sterry is different class, running the show from right back.

We are absolutely shite. Quite how we’re not 3 or 4-1 down is anyone’s guess. Poor finishing from Salford or blind dumb luck. No attempts whatsoever to play any football here. Lack of quality, lack of plan other than clear it and hope it doesn’t come back. Dire. We are in big big trouble this season.

Until they scored we were very comfortable. After that they have been in total control. Rochdale are getting way too much time in midfield and causing us problems. Vale on the other hand been pretty sloppy in possession. Need to raise the tempo 2nd half.

Mind you a Covolan clearance right on half time appears to have knocked out cold the Dale number 9.

Should of been game over after about 12 minutes, 4 great chances and I mean good chances and 1 scored. They scored with their first entry into our box and we’ve gone flat since. I envisage Clarke is not happy!

The possession thing is the same as the other two games, they’ve had plenty but not really hurt us. Covolan has nailed their number 9 as the HT whistle went.

Oh Walsall, never change. Equalise after a fairly okay first half performance where we were maybe unfortunate to be losing and then 10 seconds later Labadie goes studs up and follows through on a Bradford player and we're down to 10 men.
