There was one of these at the beginning of the summer, but most of us preserved judgement until the bulk of the transfer activity was done.

So then - we did it this time last season on TFF in L1, lets get going.

If the Mods could pin this, it'd be interesting to look back on this all through next season, see who knows best.

So -

1 - Middlesbrough
2 - Derby
3 - Hull
4 - Burnley
5 - Fulham
6 - QPR
7- Forest
8 - PNE
9 - Wednesday
10 - Bristol City
11 - Forest
12 - Ipswich
13 - Brentford
14 - Reading
15 - MK Dons
16 - Leeds
17 - Blackburn
18 - Bolton
19 - Wolves
20 - Charlton
21 - Brighton
22 - Rotherham United
23 - Birmingham
24 - Huddersfield

until the bulk of the transfer activity was done.

Bugger.

I'll join in, so I can laugh at how pathetic a prediction it is a few months down the line.

1. Middlesbrough
2. Derby

3. Ipswich
4. Preston
5. Wolves
6. Fulham

7. Hull
8. Burnley
9. Sheffield Wednesday
10. Brighton
11. Nottingham Forest
12. QPR
13. Huddersfield
14. MK Dons
15. Birmingham
16. Leeds
17. Cardiff
18. Brentford
19. Bristol City
20. Charlton
21. Blackburn

22. Reading
23. Rotherham
24. Bolton

I don't think there's a more difficult league to do this sort of prediction. Prepare to make ourselves look stupid.

We could win the league, or we could finish 8th.

I don't think Middlesbrough are as strong as people make out. Downing was a laughing stock a couple of seasons ago, and now everyone makes out he's world class because he finally had a decent season. Bizarre.

Ipswich, Wolves, and Hull are our main competitors I reckon. Potentially Burnley too, but losing Shackell, Trippier, and Ings will have done some damage. There'll always be a surprise team of course. Could be Wednesday, could be fucking Rotherham as is the Championship.

Relegation? Not bothered. Forest being down there fighting would be nice, but I don't expect it even with Dougie Freedman in charge.

Who actually plays up front for Boro now Vossen and Bamford have gone?

Seems Tomlin could be off too.

I really struggled with the promotion spots. As you say Rammy, Derby could go either way, and I don't think Middlesbrough have an incredible team. They could certainly do with a striker. Everyone seems so evenly matched at this stage. That's why I think it's the best league in England.

Good point. For my prediction of them achieving a high finish they're gonna need bolstering up there without doubt. Only Kike comes to mind

I find these funny. I'm pretty pessimistic when it comes to our chances this season, but if Preston finish 8th and us 19th I'll happily hand you a £1,000.

No offence guysssss. No-one has the foggiest really - especially in the Championship. I do have a feeling the promoted teams won't do as well as in previous years but at the same time I don't know huge amounts about Bristol and MK so that's all I'm basing it on.

Nothing that embarrassing about attempting tables at this stage then looking back. Last summer, Wigan fans would've ridiculed you for not including them in your top 6.

1. Middlesbrough
2. Derby County
3. Fulham
4. QPR
5. Burnley
6. Sheff Wed
7. Ipswich
8. Forest
9. Wolves
10. Leeds
11. Hull
12. Brentford
13. Huddersfield
14. Charlton
15. Birmingham
16. Reading
17. Preston
18. Brighton
19. Bristol City
20. Bolton
21. Cardiff
22. Blackburn
23. Rotherham
24. MK Dons

Not easy as most of us no nothing about the overseas signings many teams have made. Looking at the transfer tracker, Hull stand out for having a shite window to me so far. And Blackburn are screwed if/when Jordan leaves.

Surprised that everyone seems to be putting us so high. The person who had us in 4th, can I have some of whatever you've been taking?

Think we will be 18-21st

Fulham will never be third. And I know you're a Hudders fan but 13th? Really?

Bit of a hunch but I fancy them to sort themselves out this season, and if they get Gayle I think they'll have had a good window overall.

Predicting us to finish 2 places higher than last season is hardly the craziest call on this thread. Overall we have strengthened and (surely) won't have the disruption of our manager leaving the day after the opening game of the season.

Think we will be 18-21st

Nobody would have had us to finish 4th in 07/08, and we spent much of the season at the top of the league. There aren't many standout teams this year and I think Preston have a good core squad with a lot of confidence to go with it. Only a bit of fun. Nobody knows what's going to happen at this stage.

My team will either finish rock bottom with Lennon running off or we will finish in the top half. I know it sounds optimistic but I rate Lennon to do us a job.

What's intriguing? All the relegated sides have kept an abundance of quality in their squads and the promoted sides haven't made any improvements to their squads, it would be folly to predict anything different.

You've lost Alli and Grigg two of your best players last season and replaced them with who exactly?
Carruthers was always touted as the replacement for Alli. we have also sign Real Madrid Castilla captain Sergio Aguza. he must be fairly good.
Grigg has been replaced by Sam Gallagher, i dont know how he'll perform but I doubt Grigg would have scored 20+ for us this season.
