We'll be fine, Horseman clearly knows what he's doing and can get the players doing it too which is a first for a while. Short on quality but we'll be lower mid table no problem.

????
Far too early to justify that statement.
One game in charge & one loss!

Tbf people were saying Burchnall knew what he was doing this time last year too…

Seriously though I agree, can’t see us going down (famous last words). Somewhere between 13th and 18th is most likely I’d say.

We were almost as bad in 21-22 as FGR were last season in L1 but, despite a positive start, we were in relegation form between September and mid February owing to the malaise of the previous season.

When you've been spectacularly bad, it's hard to shake that off when you have a limited budget. We got lucky we had a great August, recruited relatively well and had two Academy products become immediate first team players and that turned our fortunes around last two/three months of the season. The problem was we were saddled with a ton of serial losers in the side who had no winning mentality in them like Richards, Offord, Ainley, Griffiths and Sambou to name a few.

I'd argue our squad last season was stronger than FGRs this season and we struggled badly. Might take time for FGR to settle but I can see it being a long, hard winter for them.

Have you changed your mind now
Don’t be so precious, it’s just peoples opinions, after your shit show last season it’s hardly surprising that most people expect you down the bottom again is it?

I’d allow Trinidad’s predictions in. Agree it’s a good read, impressed he took the time. I usually put a commentary with my prediction, but didn’t have the time or energy this season…

In my defence I work nights and I'd wrote these on my phone the day before the season started. Not one result yesterday changed my opinion I can confirm.
Hope you can prove this in football forum internet court otherwise you're in big trouble.

Let's be honest Trinidad's post was a good read despite being submitted after start of season.
I've extracted all forecasts to spreadsheet so able to pinpoint best predictors at season end.
Two minds whether to add Trinidad's forecast to spreadsheet. Advice please. :pond:
The way that we usually do it is that the person who predicts earliest gets a bonus of 100 points and anyone that predicts on 1st August is docked 25 points, 2nd August 50 points, 3rd August 75 points, etc. Then you simply get a single point for every correctly predicted club at the end of the season.

Well personally I don’t find Trinidad’s predictions all that enjoyable…

Seriously though fair play on going into all that detail. It’s clearly done with a bit of actual knowledge of other teams which is a bit different to some self proclaimed experts elsewhere.

Last season we won our first game…
I’m 20/21 we won back to back away games at Cheltenham and Leyton Orient and we all thought that Ian Holloway was gonna fly us up to League 1.

I genuinely thought Holloway was a cracking appointment for you.

We all did.
And I still honestly believe that without Covid he would’ve been, unfortunately he gambled on the season not finishing which to be fair at the start of it is what I also though, so signed a load of shit to keep costs down thinking it wouldn’t matter and unfortunately that gamble backfired.
It’s a shame as around the community he was fantastic, doing motivational speeches in schools and turning up at peoples weddings/gatherings etc and proper integrating himself into the area and everybody loved him.

Yep. Add to that we were playing very good football before the pandemic.

We looked like proper relegation candidates so far.
