I seem to remember a Shire Horse Museum or something similar (can't find it in Google, so I must have dreamt it.), it was just before the ground as you drove in from the M62, well it was in my dream!

You don't need us down there to boost gates (although we do travel in numbers, especially in Yorkshire); you've got Chesterfield and Notts Co, Stockport and Hartlepool all fairly close. Please be happy with them.
Do you think you will stay up?

Our forum has already declared that we will drop straight through to the Conference North - if you thought Carlisle fans were an odd breed, ours are even more over the top. Must be a Cumbrian thing.

For what it's worth, I think our team is a decent Conference side - but that's why we are where we are. If the contracted players stay (can't see many getting snapped up by L2 teams), we'd probably have a reasonable play-off shout next year. Much more enjoyable.

You can get 6/4 on Barrow relegation. Bookies don't think it is so nailed on.

They're probably taking into account our game in hand and superior goal difference, which mean absolutely nothing at the moment!

Gotta feel for Barrow fans, they finally get back to the Football League and the one year they're up none of their fans can watch. It'll be almost like it never happened.

Still in favour of scrapping relegation at this point given the pandemic and state the National League is in. Doesn't seem right.

Yeah well when Macclesfield were 'relegated' last season (seems a lifetime ago now) I remember an issue over whether the NL could actually promise that the relegated team would have a division to play in. Fortunately for both the EFL and NL, Amar Alkhadi stepped up and made the issue moot.

I’m a delusional optimist but I’m starting to believe we aren’t that bad we just started awfully when we couldn’t sign anyone

That wouldn't be on. Clubs at this level have just taken on debt to finish this season for the chance at promotion. Most clubs would have voted for null and void if the rest of the season was just going to be a long list of glorified friendlies.

That's what I thought too, but just checked the last 10 form table and you're only a point ahead of us.

One thing that won't help Grimsby is the state of their pitch - Playing on that every week where its difficult to read the balls bounce and roll makes it difficult to make any decent passages of play.

The amount of times both my team and Grimsbys last night kept losing the ball due to the nature of the pitch made for a hard watch.

I don't think playing on that will raise the confidence of Grimsbys players, if anything it will lower their confidence by filling the players (however bad they've been) with dread having to play on that every other week.

IMO its a contributing factor into their struggles this season.

Well we have actually gained more points at home this season than away. Only 2 more mind you, but that's over 8% of our total points this season so quite significant!

We have also scored the same amount home and away, but conceded less at home, kept more clean sheets at home, and scored in more games at home than away.

So I think its nothing to do with the pitch and more to do with the fact the players are just shite!

I think it will be us and Grimsby that go down.
Grimsby just look terrible and we can’t score a goal.

Think we can safely say we are properly in this now. Injury riddled, can’t buy a win.

Our match against fellow relegation rivals Grimsby on Tuesday night is our biggest of the season, lose it and we'll go down for sure...

Grimsby 5 points adrift now - but they play Carlisle next ffs...
I think Carlisle must be playing HelloGregory in defence at present...

Well in all honesty I can see Grimsby winning 6-0.

Paul Hurst has as many wins against Grimsby in the past two years as he does as manager of them

What a man

Us and Grimsby I think, Grimsby looked gone and we are a mess. After how dominant we were against Southend I felt we’d stay up purely on them and Grimsby being so bad but looks less the case.

If we fall behind in a game we have nothing about us to get back into it and turn it round. With that said when we have had the lead even by a couple of goals on more than one occasion we've choked also. In summary we can't defend and can't attack, this team are utter shite.

I think we might just get away with it but have nothing but contempt for this group of players. Some of them such as Theo Robinson are just stealing a living at this point.

Not convinced we will. We’ve been so bad for months, cant get big players fit, we either play well but lose to a sickener like last weekend or we made colossal errors like today to throw the game away.

It’s a huge worry, only hope is we take some confidence with the last ten minutes in terms of mentality. Rodney should be out wide and Swan and Hurst getting their first EFL goals.

Cheltenham get gifted the opener and a bit like Salford game we lose it for 5 minutes, sadly Mills balls up and they get a second.

Goal from the corner was as bad as the first... all them bodies in there to defend it, no ones on the penalty spot to defend that, their lad makes a complete scuff of it but as is our luck it bounces in off the bar.

Overall I’m embarrassed of the club at the moment, the league is so so poor, we’ve seen three of the top sides and none have looked special, we beat most of them start of the season yet we have what 15 points in 23 games? In a league this bad? It’s an absolute embarrassment. 141 years of history this has to be as bad as it has ever been.

Vale and Carlisle fans are aware how awful we are and that we can't score, right?

I can only judge you on how dreadful both games you were defensively...

Yet since you’ve been fairly solid so shows one game means nothing.

Based on current form alone (the last four, six, eight and ten games), Southend are averaging around one point per game which would take them to 42. Assuming that they're bound to pick up an extra result or two when we start to hit the final straight then I still think it will take around 45/46 to stay up.

Grimsby are already at the point of probably needing to win every other game now, but for Barrow and Southend the likes of us and Port Vale are still very realistic targets.

Who will be crowned L2's worst team on Tuesday night?

Grimsby? Or Carlisle?
