Without a doubt my favourite reasoning behind a vote, that last one. That's right folks, it's Ebeneezer Goode in 9th place.

Everyone's favourite devil's advocate, Ebeneezer has an opinion on just about everything. Ranging from England's youth ranks to American policing, you can pretty much always rely on good old EG to enter with an opinion contrary to the common consensus. I assume he's been hanging around with Red recently for example, what with claiming that a racist sex tape was a victimless crime.

That's not even the most offensive thing about Ebeneezer, however. The fact that he claims to support no club is a bannable imvho. I know full well I'm a fucking shite Mansfield/Liverpool fan, but come on now.

But Ebeneezer being around does have its positives. Without him, who would populate the 'Random Picture Thread' thread, or the 'You Laugh, You Lose 2' thread? Who would devoutly ensure the 'Transfer Rumours' and 'Confirmed Transfers' threads were populated? Where would we get our fill of scantily clad skinny blonde ladies? He may be a horrible prick, but he has a purpose.

In political debate, at least, he works from a viewpoint (mostly classical liberal, but heavily seasoned with secular humanism and some good old fashioned pessimism) that isn't fashionable and isn't shared by many here, which is why he ends up in about 1,001 arguments a day. But given that he applies those principles pretty consistently, explains his opinions better than most and has wasted God knows how many hours of his life trying to argue ideas with cretins who just want to call him names, the idea that he's some kind of WUM seems off to me.

It says a lot more (and none of it good) about the people who make that assumption than it does about him.

Where has EG written anything racist? He hasn't. I don't think it's a matter of dispute that he doesn't like Muslims. You're lacking the intelligence to make the simple distinction between race and religion
