Fed Cup Play Offs time in a week or so vs Japan. We always lose at this point. Can't see much else but a defeat this time either with the form Konta and Watson are in.

Japan have Osaka as their main player. Their number 2 is around Watson's level.

What a frustrating tie.

GB had more than enough to win it but Watson produced an absolute bottle job all weekend.

Lost Osaka which is fair enough. But then with GB 2-1 up after Konta had won both her singles (including dismantling Osaka excellently), Watson went and lost to Nara who's around 100 in the world. GB then lost the doubles after being a set up. Watson's serve is horrendous. She is the player who infuriates me the most.

Shame for Zverev that his long matches caught up with him against Thiem.

Heard Andy was very good, great to see him get his first win in a year and against an old (albeit ailing) foe too. He might be a bit tired and sore yet so Edmund will be another tough match too. Just one match at a time, though these last two comeback matches have shown great promise so far.

Serious question......I've noticed for a few years now....while watching doubles matches (I've been watching mixed doubles laterally this afternoon) when the players talk to each other between points they cover their mouths. Is there any practical reason for this cos for the life of me I can't work this out! I'm presuming it is not to allow their utterances be 'understood'....but by whom ? Just wondering.
