Finished Shadow of Mordor and Far Cry 4, both good games in their own right. I've got Dying Light coming at the end of this month and I've also purchased Destiny mainly because my mate pestered me to buy it until I submitted. I'll also probably be getting Super Smash Bros on the 3DS soon after finding Pokemon X to be a steaming pile of shite.

Finished Far Cry 4 today after being 4 missions from the end for about 2 months. Cleared out all outposts, fortresses, towers too and did some of the other stuff. Fuck those Shangri La ones though.

Overall I liked it better than Far Cry 3 as it was essentially the same gameplay with a better story and better side missions. I don't think the end sequence with the helicopter and The flight of the Valkryries was topped by FC4's though, in fact it was fairly easy if you had the buzzsaw, same with the fortresses which were all far too easy. I enjoyed the story though and the multitude of different endings was nice, I actually did the surprising thing, yet it kind of felt right at the end
I let Anita leave and let Pagan Min live. The twist about Min's intentions being to actually fight off rebels in order to preserve the country and hand it over was very interesting, as was Sabal/Anita basically being power-hungry tyrants in waiting. It was the old 'one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter' scenario but I felt every decision was finely balanced and there was no good/bad style choices after all. Far Cry 3's final choice irritated me immensely in contrast as there's no way he'd spend the entire time doing anything to save his friends then switch motives in a second.

Good stuff though. They definitely need to switch it up for FC5, not sure I would be still interested with the same thing for a 3rd time, even if the new story/characters etc... were well done.

So how short is the order 1886 there is a PS4 offer at argos with that and the last of us remastered for £299

Currently playing Sniper Elite v2 as it is the free games with gold and xbox give you reward credits if you play if for 10 hours in the first 14 days of it coming out.

I'm enjoying it but the x-ray kills are now a pain they were exciting the first 5 times

So how short is the order 1886

7-8 hours seems to be the norm for people, about 7 if you play at a moderate place and just over 8 if you search each level trying to find all the collectibles. The review scores aren't very flattering - seems to be the best looking game of next-gen with good characters and story but not enough actual gameplay (and too many QTEs), weird pacing and no replay value.

Looks a promising new IP and no doubt the sequel should be better seeing as though they have the engine and visuals locked down but it doesn't seem a must-own. I'm going to wait until it drops to about £20-£25 and then play it and sell it.

Played the first 45 minutes of AC Unity...I hate how these games open strongly and get you excited. Only observation so far is that the free-running is on point, being able to free run down buildings is a game-changer, works great. Now roll on the glitches and shite story or whatever the issue is with this one.

For the first time since Xmas when I got DA: Inquisition, I've just gone back onto AC: Unity. I have absolutely no idea what is going on with the story, but I'm not entirely sure I even knew back when I was playing it regularly. To be honest, I'm just looking to storm through the story and have done with it now. Can't be arsed for all of the side mission stuff. AC is a very fatigued series to me now, same old shit every time. Yes, it's great to be back in Europe and Paris is superb, but aside from that the story sucks and it offers fuck all to keep it fresh. Even the modern day story is absolutely horrible.

Up to chapter 8 of Order 1886. Been really enjoying my time with it. The setting and characters are all fantastic. Gameplay isn't as bad as the majority of the reviews said.

AC Unity seems like the best since Brotherhood for me. I think the main story is fine although I wish they'd strayed away from the usual revenge premise. Not really done any side missions (not entirely sure I'll do many of the Paris stories but the murder mysteries look fun), just on sequence 3 and gone round getting viewpoints and chests but so far; no tailing, new combat system is really good, skills tree, better travelling now you can go through buildings. Only real gripe I have so far is how terrible the cover system is for the stealth bits.

I like how they've basically realised every character since Ezio has been shite so made Arno a French replica of him. Oaf is right though, no matter how well polished it is, they're all just 7.5/10 games now every year - it's a shame Ubisoft are content with that

AC: Unity is easily my favourite AC game. The story is absolute shite, I'm on sequence 4 and already lost about why I'm killing certain people and who they are and Elise hasn't reappeared since you first find out your Dad was an assassin. But the combat is much better, there's pretty much no tailing and the side missions are quite good in the sense they're very short and simple but are worth it for the rewards. Character customisation is good as is the array of weapons.

I'm gonna go and have to read through the story again online somewhere cos I am enjoying it. I still don't really understand why people didn't like this...if you enjoyed AC2 & Brotherhood then surely you'd think this was great too? I'm enjoying it more than Far Cry 4 actually - even though FC4's story was a lot better.

I find Unity weird... you're probably right, it is probably the best AC since AC2/Brotherhood... but for me it's just the same old shit now. Yes, the city is amazing and parkouring down is a great addition... but basically, you're still playing the same game underneath. This is Assassins Creed 7 (even disregarding the handheld games, and Rogue...) and after 7 games in 7 years I'm just finding that I'm tired with it all now. Literally the only thing exciting me for the next game is that it's in London... and even then, unless reviews are great, I could see myself perhaps even skipping it.

Also, I find the parkour to be a bit broken some times. There seem to be moments where Arno struggled to climb up even though there is clearly a ledge... you just end up wriggling the stick around a bit and after a while he catches on and starts climbing again. Particularly shitty when you're trying to chase somebody.

Shadow of Mordor is decent, yeah. If you like Assassins Creed you'll probably like it.

Back into Minecraft, Destiny and Fifa,

May as well have stopped there. Once you start Minecraft there can be NOTHING ELSE.

Things like playing other games, sleeping and eating just go out of the window.

I love Minecraft.

My mate and I have hollowed out a mountain at the top so about 55 blocks by 35. and about 4 high.

We are now digging down 19 by 35 all the way down to bedrock.

Argh, don't go talking about it. If you start I'm gonna want to play it and then my life is over as well. Why drag me down with you? That's just not fair, man.

Finished episode 1 of Resident Evil Revelations 2.
(No spoilers)

It's very good actually. I played it with my brother to get the co-op experience and co-op is actually very effective. Your side characters have a real purpose and assist well. The storyline is also interesting and keeps you intrigued for what is going to happen next. There's also a fair few joke references to RE 1 which I loved. The one thing that did irritate me was the opening of most doors. I think this is more a two player thing as whenever you open a door, it automatically brings the other character alongside you. Doesn't allow for one character to go off exploring in a different direction for long. Mind you, in 1 player mode, it would bring your side character back to your side and stop them from being useless etc. Enemies aren't the most creative in the world but some are bloody difficult (I did play it on Survival mode though). There's 1-2 real shit yourself moments. I won't spoil when.

Overall, another Resi game that's actually much better than the last two entries into the main series. I'd give that first episode of Revelations 8/10.

Holy crap, I don't even reckon I could play that game single player! I pretty much played multiplayer from the start.

Twat. :D

Me and my brother are both big Resi fans so always do co-op games together. Saves arguing over who gets to play it first anyway.

Just killed the dude in the sewer at the end of sequence 4 in AC Unity. This game is really good, fuck the haters. (story is still completely shit though, where the fuck has that girl Elise disappeared to? and why am I not involved in the revolution? It's sort of just 'happening', let me help them storm a castle or something)
