I want to do one of them lists like Jimmy and the French bloke have done, but for something genuinely interesting and what is more interesting than the film industry in the 1980's?? not fucking much.. is the answer.

Who would win a fight between Arnie and Sly??? does Willis wish he had hair like Russell?? if there was a RoboCop in 1984 would there have been any need for Kyle Reese to travel back in time??

PM me a list of however many films released between January 1980 and December 1989 that you want and I'll post trailers and shit when I have enough.

These things need order. Lists of 10 or 20?

Send me your top 10, we don't want to unnecessarily drag this out, 10 point for your number one and so on. Comment regarding your selections will be welcomed.

Weird Science will win obviously.

Shall be interesting to think what to think because there is some very good choices, do you go with the big blockbusters of the time or some of the smaller films which you can easily re-watch numerous times.

plus trying to get the period right on films you'd guess where then but find just missed out alien and Terminator 2 would not count.

There was an 80s film afternoon on Channel 5 yesterday.

Having not watched either before I recorded Stand By Me and Wargames. I will let you know how they are in due course.

You missed the best film of the lot of that 80's run Destruction in 'Innerspace' a proper 80's film.

Its only when i check out the list of 80's films do i realise how bloody tough this is.

here is a list with lots of 80's films if it helps people think what came in that era.......try and pick 10 out of these and i bet there is others which ain't listed count also.

These are in no order before people question numbers:

Thank go for it now being 20 as this was near impossible.

I've 9 of my top 10 certs based on films I loved or still love and can watch time and again (rather than being out and out classics, but afew are)

but I now have to find 11 more from this lot.

Empire of the Sun
Tron
Big Trouble in Little China
Return fo the Jedi
The Wrath of Khan
the Princess Bride
The Terminator
Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Die Hard
A Fish Called Wanda
Batman
the Burbs
Flight of the Navigator
Good Morning Vietnam
throw Momma from the Train
National Lampoon Vacation
Robocop
Stripes
Back to the Future
Back to the Future 2
Ghostbusters
the Running Man

oh dear and then when finally have the 20 do some sort've order.....and I've still missed a load of classics

I found my first lot easy as it went with the ones I rewatch lots of times, its them others I found tough the 10-20 because there is a list of great films all I can watch afew times, but not my set faves so I had to pick out of lots.

done it anyway and some big films not on mine.....great era the 80's a lot of good films and I bet while everyone loves my no.1 pick not many will have it in their top 5.

I could say the same about my number one, and looking at those you lised above there is 15 of them not in my 34, as you say lots of great films in the 80s

List in. Harder than it seemed. There were plenty of blockbusters but I only listed films I enjoyed, not just reputation

And I missed off star wars films, add big a fan that I am. And total recall just missed out being 1990!

I'm not really all that sure on my own list, I'm not the biggest 80's movies fan in the world (though this being said, I still love loads of films from the 80's) but I'm pretty sure that Ghostbusters will be taking that number 1 spot for me.

I've currently made it to 1984 and have 19 films on my list. I think this is gonna be a tough one to whittle down.

Any 80's list has to have The Money Pit in it - great film! Wish I had time to make a list up!

If you're sending a list in then be sure to put your favourite film at the top. Top selection will be worth 20 points regardless of how few selections you nominate.
