Don't want him tbh, he's fine but not worth some of the prices spouted around.

Why? Because we have Ibra? Our strategy is all wrong: we are putting too much pressure on winning the CL unlike any other club. When Juventus went out to Bayern in 1st KO stage, their world didn't fall apart, same with Bayern and Barca who got knocked out by Atletico. The sooner we start playing down our chances and go with the usual "we'll do our best" type of catchphrase that is said over and over by Barcelona, Bayern & Real, the sooner people will - quietly - think we have a real shot at the tournament. Right now we are winning domestic trebles like there's no tomorrow and the CL is basically our season. It shouldn't be this way. It isn't for Bayern (who are the closest comparable club in that they have the monopole on their league with little to no competition) so why should it be for us?
Plus winning the CL is a bit of a gamble y'know. Are Real Madrid the best side in Europe? Non, je ne pense pas.

Because you have cash, cash and more cash.

But there's regulations. Whilst they can sign players for big money, they can't litter out a squad capable of competing at the top, because they aren't as big a club as the others, so the revenue isn't really there.

Being linked with Calum Chambers on loan for the 3rd transfer window in a row.

Wouldn't be pleased one bit if we sign him. He can rot in the Arsenal reserves.

He'd be as bad as our other two right backs and wouldn't get into the team ahead of Fonte or Van Dijk.

No thanks. Bring Chamberlain back though.

I hope Oxford stays. I appreciate he's 5th on our list of CBs right now and wants more games, but he's 17 for christs sake. At least here he has a chance of playing next season unlike at Man City, Chelsea etc.

Despite there being 4 CBs ahead of him, Collins is solid but starting to get on, Tomkins and Ogbonna have hit their half-decent ceiling, and Reid - while the best of the lot - is always good for an injury here and there. Hardly a blocked road to 1st team football.

Would be a shame if he's yet another young English player willing to play reserve team/loanee football and taking the money at the first bite.

A host of PL clubs including ourselves asking after Calum Chambers on loan from Arsenal.

Gundogan's injury record is abysmal, £20M for albeit a good player but what are the chances he'll be as good as he was before?

Reina on his way back to Liverpool.
he is going to replace Mignolet as 2nd keeper apparently with Karius as first choice.

Good thing they gave the Belgian a contract extension wasn't it?

Depends on how much he's making a week. I could see Liverpool paying a portion of his wages for the length of that contract.

I think that only happens in football manager. Can't think of any real life examples off the top of my head.

Someone lower in the PL would take him and his stock will be fine throughout Europe; he's worth £10 mill or so in the market anyway with todays rates.

I might be wrong but I highly doubt someone would pay that fee and his wages.

Aye they would. Mignolet has issues, but he's not absolutely awful, he can be very good indeed.

In his current situation, in dire form and surplus to requirements, you're dreaming.

Coutinho to PSG looking likely. That exit door at Anfield might need oiling.

S'alright, they're getting Gotze. No Gundogan. I mean Reus. Erm...

Mignolet is PL quality just not the quality that we need for a title push at Liverpool, and with the money flying around these days, ~10 mill for him isn't a lot.

On Coutinho I said elsewhere tonight that I wouldn't be that averse to him moving for £40 mill or so as I trust Klopp to bring someone else in of similar/greater ability with a potentially higher ceiling. Don't get me wrong, on his day he is brilliant, but he's still inconsistent. Anyway the story is bollocks; he's here another season at the min.
