Not quite clicking so far, and it's painfully obvious Ridehalgh is on his wrong foot. Grimsby defending well, and I wouldn't bet against them scoring against us tonight. We need to make the most of our posession.

It’s a game we really need to be winning here. We’ve had good spells but need to sustain it more. Grimsby aren’t the best...

Is Grimsby left winger Julien Lamy any relation to the more famous left winger David Lamy?

0-0 at HT. Grimsby closing us down relentlessly and giving us no time on the ball at all - it's one of those frustrating games where the ball seems to be constantly out of play or dead because of a soft foul. We're struggling to create space or string more than a few passes together, so it's pretty ugly viewing.

It reminds me of many of our games in the National League, in all honesty.

Grimsby very much stand a chance of nicking this.

Aside from one decent save by the Grimsby keeper from a downward header, there's been little goalmouth action and it's hard to tell who's the promotion contender or fighting for their FL status. Could go either way.

Tranmere showing a bit of a hangover from the weekend but Grimsby are dreadful.

Tranmere just need to go long in behind and they’ll get a hatful.

I’m sorry Boz but that’s bollocks. We were definitely the better side and whilst there were only a couple of chances, how many chances did Grimsby have? Did their strikers even touch the ball in our box?

Need to be winning this if we want automatic promotion because these really don’t look very good.

We're not very good, the table shows that and every other side who's played could tell you that, but Boz is right, you have had one decent chance against this not very good side.

You reckon? We've had more decent possession around the Grimsby box, but in the first half, aside from the effort I mentioned, we didn't trouble their keeper either. Agreed Grimsby haven't done much in our box.
Unsure I'd have taken CBT off there either.

He’s normally pretty good to be honest.

Not watching tonight as I’m at work, has he been shit?

Twitter is making it sound like we’re all over Tranmere here.

Well if Green got in the positions LJL does he'd score plenty, he just never gets in those positions, we need to merge the two players together and create a half decent lge 2 striker.

Very poor but just showed a lovely touch and bit of skill. You’re on top now. Lewis missed a one on one.

Poor game between two poor sides, Tranmere better first half without creating anything, Grimsby better second half without creating anything.

Two months ago a point against a supposedly decent side would be good, but not today we need wins.

That was a hateful game devoid of any redeeming features. No skill, no flow, constant disruption. It's actually made me quite angry.

Fair result. A point is better for us than Grimsby. The Shop missed an absolute sitter.

Not good enough in truth. We looked very tired. Not sure why Blackett Taylor was taken off as he looked lively. Would have had Morris on sooner too. Missed an out and out right back and our top scorer today. Need to win on Saturday really to keep the pressure on the top 3

That was actually entertaining (by our standards) but the exact reason we won’t stay up, those are the games others are winning.

LJL has been the difference of 4 points with his awful finishing, something we knew was the case but our fans lapped up the signing anyway

Results have gone for us this midweek, but if we lose to Tranmere on Saturday it means jack.

Easy to blame the one missed chance in the last two games, but if he missed one chance a game when we create 10 chances it wouldn't be a problem. The problem is we're lucky if we have a shot on goal in any game this season, been woeful at creating anything all season. Hanson no better, how many shots has he had since he's been back in the side? one?

It's bloody awful and down to the whole side that we lack anything going forward not the one missed chance we have. Only positive we have had last few games is without Waterfall and Pollock in the side we look less likely to concede, but that's Hurst all over, defensive! We needed this 4 months ago, now we need an attacking mentality and we don't have it, and its too late if we find it.

Im not confident at all for this one. We’ve travelled to Southend and back midweek, then down to London and back followed by Grimsby and back where we won’t be back in Birkenhead until the early hours of Thursday before a Saturday game against you. Been a ruthless schedule for us the last 2 and a half months and on today’s showing, it’s starting to take its toll.
