That’s it totally different side with Montano, Oyeleke and Worrall, Pope to return soon. Keep them fit we will be fine. We’ve been getting better most weeks and been unlucky lately so it’s finally come together and hopefully can build on this.

Interesting interview with DC when speaking about Rodney and wanting to bring out his aggressive side. He does seem just a genuinely nice person so if can play with a bit more spite I think that will help him make the next jump in his career. Can say that about a few of our players to be honest.

Scrimshaw is quickly becoming the new Luke Beckett to us, doesn't matter how he will find a way to score against us. Hopefully he is on loan to League 1 next year.

That's the odd thing - we've won more than our fair share of scraps this season, but play like we only need to turn up when against teams in the bottom 3rd.

i think the Cheltenham commentary team were great tonight - other that calling Quigley "Quidgley for the 1st 45 mins....
I also think they might be right about Tozer getting an edge to the slips for the 1st goal... not that it will get taken off James Jones

You have got 17 points from 14 games against current top 12 teams. 40 points from 21 games against current bottom 12 teams. Since January the 1st you have got 7 points from 6 games against top half teams and 24 points from 9 games against bottom half teams. You only have 3 more games against teams in the bottom half. Win them and thats 66 points. You need to improve your average points against top half teams by 100% to get a top 3 place.
I agree we have to beat those around us but we haven’t lost a game since we signed Declan John, MJ Williams and Dapo. They’ve transformed the team. We’ve conceded 2 in our last 7 games I think. 1 of those goals was after a red card which was rescinded and the other our gk basically threw a tame shot in his own net. A lot of those games earlier in season were before we changed shape and before we added the quality in Jan. The 6 this year were 1 win (our most recent game against top half) 4 draws and a loss. (So one loss in 6). The loss was partly due to a red card in game against you but was an even game. Could have gone either way. We were comfortable against morecambe until a red card which was rescinded. Exeter we scored an OG. We had 24 shots against Crawley and their gk got man of the match. Im not making excuses and plenty of other teams will have similar games I know but its not that we don’t perform against the big teams. We’ve played well in most of them just not had the luck especially recently. Arguably we’ve played better and lost or drawn in a lot of the top half and won whilst playing shit against a lot of teams further down the table like vale on Saturday.

Proof will be in the pudding anyway. We have them to play. We win them and the argument is null and void because we’ve beaten the top teams. If we don’t we don’t go up anyway.

Out of interest how many points have the teams around us picked up against the top teams? I assume most teams have better points average against bottom half teams than top half teams?

Anyway it’s great that there’s several top 8/9 games left against each other. Will decide who’s going up. It’s so close

Barrow and Port Vale helping us, thanks! I do very much want Barrow to stay up (and still don't think they really warrant being so low in the league based on what I've seen of them), so, yes, more of this please.

We can still get promoted if we win every game!

Seriously though, if the gap gets any bigger next week then that's that. I don't think it's an understatement to say it's the biggest week of our season.

We need at least 2 wins from the 3 games. And yet, it might not be enough

We have 30 points against teams in the bottom half, and 32 against teams in the top half.

Of those 30 points, 12 have come against teams in the top 7 with 3 to play (Newport A, Morecambe A and Tranmere H)

Took me 4 minutes 54 seconds. Just proving a simple fact. You are only capable of beating lower half teams.

We'll be big time
Get your application to the brotherhood filled in now, or the little tinpotters will eat you alive. I believe Halifax administer the club, apply to them in the non league forum.

You haven't lived until you've seen your once proud club shipped 4-0 at somewhere like Wealdstone. It's character building.

The meltdown from some Cheltenham fans on Twitter is truly outstanding. Including one person saying Duff is a poor manager.
Yep, it's a classic Cheltenham fans meltdown alright! Disappointing performance of course but this is League 2, these results aren't that uncommon - from the reaction you'd think we were Man City and we'd just lost at home to Solihull Moors under 14s. We've taken 25/36 available points since the City game, won 5 of our last 7 and we're top. We're doing alright I'd say.

4-0 you say?

Nah we can do better than that.

Sam Allison! That's the dreadful ref I was trying to remember earlier this week.

Makes Mr Kettle seem like Collina.
Haven’t seen him ref a game since he got promoted to the FL list, but from memory there were a lot worse during our NL days.

Don’t think Rovers can compete in the willy waving for biggest NL hammering. 4-1 at Woking and 5-2 at Fylde were the worst I can remember.

Hard to believe our keeper's been called up to the U21s based on that second goal (and numerous other mistakes he's made this season)!
it was a corker wasn't it.... not sure if Tozer our our guy scored the 1st, but the spin on the ball made both Tozer and the keeper look Sunday League....
