grimsby will be all doom and gloom until they win at mansfield on saturday.

Trust me, if you’ve not won a game in 10 or so, come to us and we’ll roll over for you, we do it everytime

Join the other clubs who have said the same thing the last two month, and we have beaten none of them.

Besides winning one game won't make a difference, we need title winning form between now and end of the season to stay up.

In the end grateful for a point. The loss of Vaughan, who was always going to be a big pair of shoes to fill has certainly dented our prospects. With hindsight will Keith Hill regret playing such a strong team in the Pizza Cup?

Another couple of injuries and a couple of points dropped will go some way to making up for a crap day on the horses.
We got very tired second half against Vale Saturday, a break in midweek games came at the right time.
guess that summed tonight up for you

Easy to blame the one missed chance in the last two games, but if he missed one chance a game when we create 10 chances it wouldn't be a problem. The problem is we're lucky if we have a shot on goal in any game this season, been woeful at creating anything all season. Hanson no better, how many shots has he had since he's been back in the side? one?

It's bloody awful and down to the whole side that we lack anything going forward not the one missed chance we have. Only positive we have had last few games is without Waterfall and Pollock in the side we look less likely to concede, but that's Hurst all over, defensive! We needed this 4 months ago, now we need an attacking mentality and we don't have it, and its too late if we find it.
I understand that, but we knew that was the case and signed him anyway.

I think Paul Hurst got his tactics right for this game, considering the shit hand of cards he was holding. Didn’t allow us any time on the ball 1st half and then when Tranmere were tiring, threw men forwards.
I don’t see it as a negative result. We’ve gained a point, kept a clean sheet and moved up the table. Glass is half full for me.
As for Grimsby, I just can’t see where they are going to get the goals from.

Good result for us after last night's disaster. Just need to beat Salford and a 0-0 between Cambridge and FGR and all will be looking rosy once again.

Yes, definitely a point gained. We were ok in the first half, very poor in the second, but the back four stayed strong and we ground out a result.

I thought Grimsby were more spirited and better organised than Southend last week.

Im not confident at all for this one. We’ve travelled to Southend and back midweek, then down to London and back followed by Grimsby and back where we won’t be back in Birkenhead until the early hours of Thursday before a Saturday game against you. Been a ruthless schedule for us the last 2 and a half months and on today’s showing, it’s starting to take its toll.
Yes, a terrible schedule. I think that is why we had to rest players tonight, and the display became predictably disjointed.

Agree, whilst we played very well at Roots Hall, Southend were full of schoolboy errors. Grimsby much more solid.

If there is room on Tranmere’s team bus, I think we should bring Stefan Payne back to Prenton park after tonight’s game. Think we would of kept him had we of Known Morgan Ferrier was about to spit his dummy out.
It's not like he has done that at every club he has been at

This week was our first Tuesday off in a while, we badly needed the rest. It could go in many different ways, no doubt your boys will be desperate to avenge the 5-0 and we will be looking to bounce back after a heartbreaking defeat last week.
Our injury list is getting better - I think Williams will still be out and Maxted but we haven't missed either lately.
Should be a good game

Wouldn’t be so sure, Menayese (who since playing with Hewitt at CB has been excellent) can’t play so everybody’s favourite circus clown Luke Waterfall comes back in. Given we conceded our only goal in the past 3 in the 2 mins he was on at Carlisle (directly his fault too) it’s rather

Honestly, can people please shut the fuck up with this kind of shite, it's really doing my head in. Every single week someone is like "oh well you're gonna get that win against us because we're so bad". Fuck offff.

Alright calm down, to be fair Mansfield are a very generous side against teams on a shocking run of form generally, I think a draw is most likely though.

Well, it's ridiculous. We had one of the Cheltenham fans telling us we're gonna beat them yesterday. It's not what you need to be reading every week when you're bottom of the league and slipping out of it for the second time in just over a decade.

Aye, tiring isn’t it. Every week we seem to have a different ‘woe me’ fan base looking for some attention, I’ll take it off Southend but it’s tiresome to read from everyone else.

Had a Liverpool supporting taxi driver do it to me on Tuesday, final straw

Yep, Southend fans are also officially allowed to complain.

He`s not the only one. I won`t have us in my top seven after that showing. Absolutely dreadful. I thought at one stage that Mickie Adams had come back. The only upside of that was that we didn`t lose. Thats nearly 2 hours out of my life and a tenner totally wasted
