As has been said already, a massive exaggeration.I’m fairly sure that I’ve just watched the worst Derby County performance in our 139 year history.
The Warne experience is done. He probably won’t be sacked just yet, but it’s done. The tides have turned. It’s a matter of time.
But you cant score if they have the ball, and you didnt. What's this obsession with certain teams in this league knocking it sideways and backwards constantly without actually getting anywhere? Blackpool were another example....do they just want to win possession stats? I can't abide that method of possession for possession sake.
I actually said the same in reverse. I am now pleased with the scrappy 1-0 win after seeing you drew with Wigan.Your win at Derby makes me feel that bit better about Saturdays defeat.
Really tough one to take. We dominated but with no cutting edge and then capitulated after Rovers first goal, they should have seen the game off there and then. We then really should have found a winner with May hitting the post before a certain red not being given allowing Rovers to push forward and grab the winner.
For us: no squad depth, shakey at the back and not clinical up top. Another season loitering around mid table unless things somehow drastically change
I get your point but then Leicester won the Premier league with possession well below 50% on average. I think possession has its place if it's progressive and actually gets you up the field into dangerous areas, but this knocking it around the back for half an hour is just pointless and wastes time. But you cant score if they have the ball, and you didnt.
I get what you are saying though, we do the same although there seems to be a purpose this season, and we have created a lot of space doing it which in turn leads to chances which we have (squandered) a lot so far.
I think you're holding your own to be honest and have started pretty well. In spite of a few bigger teams, the general standard is pretty similar to when we were last in the league (bearing in mind we nearly avoided relegation with one of our worst ever teams). The trouble is that those few big teams can afford 2 or 3 big money players that can get a cheap goal. And last season in particular there was probably 8-10 biggish teams. This league is tougher than I remember. or we're just no where near as good as we were when we were last comfortable in this league. Wigan were comfortably the best we've faced of the 3 teams so far, so last night was definitely a point gained.
Anyway, 3 games in the good signs are we're not conceding a lot of goals. We've conceded 1 in each game, and at least 2 of them have been really avoidable. If we can just get some better quality into the top end of the pitch we might be ok at this level.
Long way to go yet, some encouraging signs but also some concerning signs.
Yeah we played that way with no purpose last season but this season is looking better so its good as long as there is progression with it.I get your point but then Leicester won the Premier league with possession well below 50% on average. I think possession has its place if it's progressive and actually gets you up the field into dangerous areas, but this knocking it around the back for half an hour is just pointless and wastes time.
Last night, we had the 2 best chances of the game, so for all their possession of the ball, they actually did nothing with it. Crazy tactics in my view, particularly at this level where the quality is pretty poor.
He's not the first manager to do this and he won't be the last. Throwing together a load of experienced pros and hoping for the best. It invariably never works. You need to build a squad with a plan of how you intend to play.As has been said already, a massive exaggeration.
Derby weren't good but they aren't exactly relegation fodder. I quite like Paul Warne, yet Derby do look like they've just thrown together a load of experienced pros and are hoping that they'll all gel whilst hoping the quality and experience will shine.
I'm not convinced though based on 90 minutes it looks like a few supporters share a similar view...
???????Crikey theyre more obsessed than swindon fans. They will be on about selling car parks out next
It was part of a purposeful tactic last night. We let them knock it around until the donkey in the middle of their defence had it, who we then pressed and he invariably gave it away. Worked a treat first half and with a proper striker we'd have been at least 1 up.Yeah we played that way with no purpose last season but this season is looking better so its good as long as there is progression with it.
You have to press them into making mistakes if they just play it around the back?
Just look at your friends Cambridge, won both games this season with a small percentage of possession and the only game they lost they had the majority of the ball!
You’ve got a good team, your manager is the problem.
Yeah, no doubt. From what I read online, a real lack in depth? Can’t say I necessarily disagree to be honest with you.
We are still well short in the playing department though.
Its what teams do in L1. We deserved the win. Our crowd was bang up for it. I was impressed with your no 21 other than him if you'd played another half an hour you still wouldn't have scoredMeh, silly mistake for the goal and their keeper makes a worldie. Difficult to win without a decent striker
What poor decisions went against you then? I'm curious.Been like this all season, you can't talk back to the officials. Everyone knows that
(Though I thought waving imaginary cards was getting punished, but not tonight)
if youd won you'd be OK with it.What's this obsession with certain teams in this league knocking it sideways and backwards constantly without actually getting anywhere? Blackpool were another example....do they just want to win possession stats? I can't abide that method of possession for possession sake.
There was an imaginary card waved by one of your players (Pack?) when he claimed Trevitt dived. Other players have been carded for it.What poor decisions went against you then? I'm curious.
HA HA. you are deludedAbsolute fact you're one of those spanners who reckons Pompey are bigger than Southampton. Proper deluded.
PV fan. Why don't you grow up you really are pathetic. Cambridge are a good decent club. I'm pleased they stayed up last season unlike if you'd got relegated I'd be well pleased.schoolboy stuff at fortress abbey stadium. how dare stevenage turn up and take 3 points off of the invincible moneyballers.
joe ironside is the best striker in the league and he's not even in the league any more. a famous signing that the rest of us can only aspire to make.
Is that the best you can come up with. Was you there? There was an imaginary card waved by one of your players (Pack?) when he claimed Trevitt dived. Other players have been carded for it.
Not complaining about what happened, just seems like there is a lot of inconsistencies.
"To be Fair..." lmaoTo be fair Peter Atherton can fuck off. I still despise that bastard 23 years since he last played for us.
Some excellent points well made. He's not the first manager to do this and he won't be the last. Throwing together a load of experienced pros and hoping for the best. It invariably never works. You need to build a squad with a plan of how you intend to play.
Look at Bolton. They haven't got the very best player in each position in the league, but they've finely honed their squad year on year and have picked up players who suit their style and make their overall squad much stronger. Yes, they've got some real quality in there but they can also rotate the team and each replacement knows their job.
I think Derby will improve, but they've got rid of a core of really good players and I'm not sure what their long term plan is with the players they have signed.
I'll be honest mate the way you put your arguments across on here you seem like a 12 year old. Well pleased.PV fan. Why don't you grow up you really are pathetic. Cambridge are a good decent club. I'm pleased they stayed up last season unlike if you'd got relegated I'd be well pleased.
Na the league has no difference to league two according to some on here. They know who they are. This league is tougher than I remember. or we're just no where near as good as we were when we were last comfortable in this league. Wigan were comfortably the best we've faced of the 3 teams so far, so last night was definitely a point gained.

yeah the voices in your head know who they are. weird that youve given them a potteries accent thoughNa the league has no difference to league two according to some on here. They know who they are.
Yep we have been saying the same with all our missed chances. Good job you didn't sign Taylor as he seems to have gone downhill very quickly...It was part of a purposeful tactic last night. We let them knock it around until the donkey in the middle of their defence had it, who we then pressed and he invariably gave it away. Worked a treat first half and with a proper striker we'd have been at least 1 up.
There's more than one way to skin a cat of course, and I'm hoping we play a bit more aggressive and direct this season as I don't think we have the players to play any other way.

Pack is a proper shithouse so that doesnt surprise me, and that dirty cheating b*stard Morrell too. Both ex Bristol City which says it all reallyThere was an imaginary card waved by one of your players (Pack?) when he claimed Trevitt dived. Other players have been carded for it.
