Jake Eastwood has been confirmed to be out for at least 6 months with a severed patella tendon after ripping it on something hanging off the inside of the goalpost.

Horrible injury for him and just about sums up our luck in general with injuries.

Is it that bad? I've seen us win 4 or 5 times there, all be it since the turn of the Century and think we won 3 times in my first 3 visits there which probably pushes up the total!

Been thew last 10 times actually, W4 D1 L5 so not too bad. Had the infamous Micky Adams transfer listing the squad one though!

I didn't start going to away games, like week in, week out, until 2008, so I missed all those.

Seen us win there once and got a 0-0 if I remember rightly. Seen us lose 3-1 when Lee Hughes dicked us, 4-2 when Jamie Forrester took the piss one day, another 4-2 where we just couldn't handle Jamal Campbell-Ryce, the little shitebag, and Jimmy Spencer too! Jack Grealish played that day, I'm sure? I remember a 1-0 defeat after an horrendous penalty decision late on. Think Jon Stead scored it, if my memory serves me well?

Good challenge away to Walsall tomorrow. Fleetwood continue to steadily improve but need to be tested by the top teams. Losing Medley ( out all season ) and Holgate allows other players to step up to the mark so far their absence has not been too keenly felt. A draw tomorrow will be a really good result
Now a question for you Walsall fans. When we last played you which is a good few years ago,you had a top old fashioned centre forward who was real quality. I'm trying to remember his name, something like Potts ?? Who was it ?

Unfortunately not, I've been waiting on a pretty important medical procedure and the NHS deciding to book me in for the morning of one of the only two Town games within an hour of where I live which was nice of them so I had to choose between waking up in severe pain down in my nether regions and feeling somewhat confused and deflated...or missing watching Town and having the operation!
Hope the procedure goes well for you mate

Remember all those! My first ever Vale game was at Notts in 2001! Stevie Brooker won it late on during that mad unbeaten run we had.

Recall Grealish playing as Richard Duffy pretty much snapped him in half with a challenge and could of… probably should of seen red.

The 0-0 was our last visit, battered them and couldn’t find the winner though but it set the foundation for Askeys run which got us out of trouble as they went down. Proper mixed bag of memories there.

March 2019 the season we were relegated from League one so it was probably Andy Cook at a guess.

Hope it goes well SoC.

Over the last 20 years there have been many occasions when I have woken up confused and deflated after watching Town the previous day…

And I’m not there tomorrow, too much of a trek after work even from the East Mids.
I’ll be represented by my son, who is driving up from his army base by himself to be there. Born in Limerick, when I worked there, near where the original Limerick Mariner, the holy Joe Waters, started out on his football career. I’ve clearly brought him up well…or led him badly astray some might say…

I didn't think so. He took everything out and when you see the still photo you can see how his ankle was trapped as your man slid over it.
It happens, I thought you were a good team and think you'll go up in the automatics, being rugged is part of it but at the same time I've seen our players getting fouled constantly this season and I think the refs aren't differentiating between hard and fair and leaving something on the player.
Nothing wrong with the tackle. Jodi tried to shield the ball and wasn`t strong enough when the perfectly timed tackle came in. If it`s a fracture shouldn`t take long to heal 2months perhaps.

Fucking Yorkies. Well one of the last Yorkshire teams we beat was Harrogate, 3-5 back in April (our last away win), so possibly fate we will finally get an away win tonight…

Apparently no Lee Angol for Morecambe tonight - done his hamstring. I am absolutely shocked.

Lee Beevers did that playing for us in October 2016, albeit in difference circumstances i.e. landing awkwardly challenging for a header.

Outfield is perhaps slightly different to being a goalkeeper but he had to retire from FT football and didn't try playing again until 2018 and that was only regional level football in the Northern League. Luckily(?) for him, it was at the back end of his career but he said he lost all strength and power in it despite being fully recovered and could hardly jump, run, kick anymore. I think more people come back from ACL's than they do bad patella injuries.

This is going to be a horrible spectacle tonight isn't it. Away at Bromley, on a Tuesday night, in the pissing rain.

I keep hearing about Bromley being some team from hell to play against, but there has been nothing this season to suggest that.

If you're intimidated by a little non-league club from London then it's a sad day for you.

Maybe just maybe they are using past seasons to form this view. Maybe just maybe they support teams who have played against them.

But maybe just maybe the removal of the 4G pitch reduces the intimidation / fear. We didn't manage to win at their place until this season.

It was certainly a sad day when we lost there.

I know I've posted this before but hopefully the rain/shithousery isn't as bad as this second half...

...easily the most RATTLED I've ever been leaving a match. Still am to this day really.

Paul Cook rotation returns… very regular occurrence last season. A couple of forced changes tonight though with Araujo and Tanton injured. Dobra took a whack too so think we’re just being careful with that.

Looking forward to seeing Colclough from the start.

Would have liked to see Paton come in for this one. Also could have done with Benicio as an option on the bench as well but guess he might be saved for Notts on Saturday.

Yeah Hackford didn’t do anything Saturday so would have gone Paton or Curtis.

Not sure about Sang against these, they are better than Swindon going forward.

Couple of changes for us, Coleman and Williams in for Hutton and Lapslie, with McKenzie slotting into right back. Good to see Dieng back on the bench too.

No problems with that team, think I’d have gone with Tsaroulla over Austin but as much as I don’t rate Austin, he has a knack of producing in the final third which we’ve lacked recently

Be interested to see Robertson and Palmer in midfield for the first time. On paper that’s about as strong as we can get centrally with those two and Abbott

Back to 443/4141. Svanthorsson and Green back in for Tharme and Wilson. Could be foolish, could be genius but you have to admire how much of a fuck Artell does not give regarding setting up to stifle the opposition. Was forced to switch to 532 at the weekend due to lack of options, side put in a solid performance and got a great win. Should we stick with that more rigid system away at top of the table who have only conceded twice all season? Nah, bring the Icelandic winger and the headless chicken back into the fold.

Straight swap with Cass in for Warren at RB too. I'm okay with that. Warren was at fault for one of Carlisle's goals whereas Cass scored one of ours and offers a bit more protection/threat from set pieces. Less of a threat with the ball though admittedly. I still don't really know who is better defender so will be keeping an eye on Cass this evening.

Did you have to jump off the train and leg it to an offie or did you get on it with way too much booze in the first place? It's always a predicament trying to figure out how many train beers once you get over a few hours.
