Mostly Gills for the opening 20 on our match, but without really carving a chance out. We're looking solid and not afraid to get on the ball and come forward as opposed wide open and scatty. Rodgers and McJannett in for a busy night though I reckon.

Morecambe cutting through us at will whereas we look like we’ve had three players sent off going forward.
The Alexander out stuff is nonsense, 75% of the defence are loanees and the club hasn’t signed a centre mid partner for Smallwood in three seasons bar four months of Adam Clayton. The under recruitment of the summer is just playing out.

We’ve not been very good at all but holy moly Carlisle are bad

Proper ‘I’ve got 11 cloggers here and I’m asking them to play like Barcelona’ vibes

Beating Harrogate 0-1…Tommy Leigh’s first goal, Joe Tomlinson assist.

We might actually win away from home, a fairly dominant first half:woot:

This is a complete seal clubbing of a first half, 0-2 going on 0-5 and I’m not sure we’ve been at it at all, Carlisle are just that bad.

But it is us, so keep it going.

We're currently Gillinghamming Gillingham. Fantastic first half from us.

Weirdly that's exactly what Artell did with us when he first arrived but he managed to pass Williamson's MK Dons off the park in his very first 45 mins. And then we conceded 6 twice and 5 once at home.

I'll say one thing for Colchester. Absolute masterclass in anti-football. Never quite seen anything like it.

Not great from us, haven't got the intensity there tonight and it's not quite clicking. Had enough of the game to suggest we'll create in the second half, long way to go.

Not a great deal of subtlety about Colchester’s intent in this game. Retreating into a low block the instant we have the ball but to be fair they’ve worked to their gameplan perfectly. Of greater concern is Byers going off injured. We’ll await the inevitable Colchester breakaway goal.

Absolutely dominant that, it'll be 2-2 after 55 minutes but that was pretty much as one sided as a half gets.

Hard to criticise the tactic when we’re 2-0 up but you can tell we’ve got 4 central midfielders on the pitch, all dropping deep and passing 5 yards side to side.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to watch another 45 minutes of it and take the win, but feels like we need someone making a run somewhere - I don’t think Austin has attempted a run in behind their calamitous left back all half for some reason - Abbott looks knackered as well, think I’d get Martin on for him

Fucking hell it’s Christmas…

0-3 at HT. Joe White with his first goal and Alex Gilbey with another goal (with another Tommy Leigh assist).

Thank fuck Williamson left, best performance in ages, especially away from home. Lindsey is my hero.

We’ve played well down at Brom but for a few brain fart moments from Boot & Daley-Campbell.

Build up play and then cross from Naylor for Griggs first was class, and then top work from Grigg again being persistent in capitalising on Bromley’s own brain fart moment from their keeper who tried to let the ball roll into his box but didn’t quite make it and Grigg took it round him instead!

Dominated the game really but these lot are always in the game when they’re at home, so we need to get a 3rd as soon as possible to try and kill the game.

The madness of what our owners wanted

I sort e feel sorry for the new manager he has inherited an atrocious set of players and one of the worst back lines Carlisle have had for a while…… but dear god Carlisle needed desperately a rot stopper, a short-term fix to turn it about then look at a ‘project’

The biggest worry is that atmosphere is very sour two home games in and lots of boos and abuse……that isn’t going to help improve a p*ss poor set of players who have zero confidence.

The only slight hope is the f the owners give the new guy a chance to spend ‘another’ fortune on a third full squad of players this 12 months and this guy knowing what he’s bringing in.

We look tired and leggy, not totally surprising after the last seven days on the road. We are there for the taking, pleased it's 0-0 at half time but we need to be a lot better if we are gonna get any form of result.

What a terrible watch this has been. We've made six changes from the last couple of games, rested most of our better performing players of the season so far and tried to destroy this game from the off.

I think Cowley has an unfair reputation from his Lincoln days really, as I've very rarely seen the kind of 'anti-football' that he is often tarnished with and think we generally play enjoyable football to be honest. But tonight totally fits in with that reputation, utter dross.

This is frustrating, Colchester have been time wasting since the second minute, loads of “stoppages” for injuries and we’ve not been able to get any rhythm. Got one of those defeats like we used to endure against Stevenage written all over it

The big concern though is George Byers going off injured. Could really be a blow if out for a period of time.
