Wasn’t for the lack of effort tonight but maybe a little bit more composure in the final third was needed. Think for Portsmouth there’s enough to build off there even if they will feel a little disappointed with a point. Derby were ok, still think it’s a year of steadying the ship for them. From seeing them a few times now including against us Hourihane hasn’t quite been the dominant player at this level I thought he might have been for them.

I think from what I've seen of Portsmouth, they're quite functional rather than sparkling. I reckon enough for the top 7 but they haven't really got that flair and point of difference to go any higher in the league. Derby will score goals but I think it's a season of consolidation for them.

Yeah Portsmouth when I’ve seen them look efficient but not got the quality up top of the other big guns, fairly solid though so should make top 7.

Derby I just don’t know, they look fairly average whenever I have seen them and do wonder if the managerial change was the right one despite his record at Rotherham.

Nombe doesn't start again for us, which is interesting

Exeter look pretty poor in defense already. Edwards will cause them problems in the second half.

having just come out of hospital and not been able to watch a game for a while, I'm majorly looking forward to watching us at Cheltenham today (even if only on iFollow)...so I might as well congratulate CTFC on the win right now, as any time I have any sense of cheer or anticipation before a game, it never ends well. Oh well, we'll see.

Feared the worst after 20 minutes, Ipswich are a very good side, but we grew into it.
Still feel we can nick something here, bring Nombe on and the line of attack will change.
You'd have thought that they would put the best refs for the Sky games, that yellow card at the end was ridiculous

That was a poor first half from us imo. First touches from Harness and Ladapo are awful. (I know they created the goal but forget that, a game is 90 minutes, or 99 if you’re at The Valley )

Not sure that was a yellow either.

Agreed, poor after the opening 15 minutes. Hard to see how we won't be better than that in the second half. Camara and Edwards will be introduced around 70 I imagine and cause lots of problems for a static Exeter defence.

That stat that just showed up on screen that we are the highest scorers in the league off corners is a bit of an eye opener as I always feel we are rubbish at set pieces.

Same with us! It took us ages to score one from a corner last season.

Only tuned in for second half but already have seen Exeter dicking about with it in their own area trying to play out of trouble. Sometimes I think some of these teams need to be reminded it’s ok to play percentages as it will hurt them as admirable as it might be.

Davis must have one of the best deliveries in this league. Let's push on and get a couple more now.

Shocking booking for Burns there, for walking off the pitch the wrong way. EVERY game at Portman Road, away teams make subs and walk across the whole pitch like a tortoise and the ref does nothing…

So a more than comfortable day out in the South West in the end. We improved in the second half without ever pulling up any trees. Another away win though and we move on.

Eyes on Burton now, hopefully they can take a point.

Expecting you to win today - you always seem to beat us at our place.

Looking forward to the inevitable 7-7 draw when we play you at Adams Park though!

I think it’s a fair call on the consistency but if it’s going to be applied across the board am glad referees are going to dish out the yellows for that. Start applying the 6 second rule for keepers would be welcome as well.

Comfortable enough for Ipswich there, was a controlled performance I’d say. Exeter were alright but don’t think they ever threatened a comeback.

JW9 returns two weeks earlier, huge boost had a sneaky feeling about that though.

Otherwise fairly decent XI looks 4-3-3, Stevens back in goal, changes at the back with Hall in so very left sided focused! Benning after his horror show last week survives but Woz on the other side. Pett for Garrity is a slight concern as our midfield is more open without Pett!

I agree, if Burns was going the wrong way, fair enough.

But I’ve never seen it applied at Portman Road this season. Sometimes the refs would actually point them to go the incorrect way. Town players would normally go off correctly, even when we’re winning at home and walk passed SBR Stand and be applauded for their performance during the game.

Well beaten, no complaints. We are just a level below Ipswich. Difficult game for most, especially the forwards who didn't get a sniff all game.
And yes, we hate Sky too. Our record is dreadful.

Probably got fed up with the timewasting, which was completely unnecessary

Probably but as the guys say needs to be done consistently.

Pretty comfortable for Ipswich in the end .

Timewasting is also at PR and nothing done. Hence why it’s often embarrassing that our fans call clubs ‘boring, boring..)

We’re normally shocking on tv but been better on there recently

I don’t want to carry on the mega Ipswich Valiants love in that’s been over social media and forums galore since we faced off but I think they will win the league, they just look streets ahead of anyone else so far

*note we haven’t played Argyle yet!

Just seem to not only have quality but a solid side and character to get through games. Their superior buying power in January I imagine will push them on in a way Argyle couldn’t match possibly.

He was a TV ref so was probably keen to go by the book.
I thought the yellows for Sparkes and Harness were also harsh
