It's been a long 3 months, but 3 months hasn't been long enough for us by the signs of things.

This could be a whole different matchup this time next week, so won't make any predictions as of yet.

For anyone else not attending, it looks likely a stream will be available :)

Eeeep, can't believe this is only six days away already!!

The stream is excellent news for us exiles, means I can sit at home with a beer and watch the city!

Looking forward to this, unfortunately my brother has decided the best time to get married would be a 3oclock on the first game of the new season :bang::bang: so i won't be in attendance, sure somebody will take my ST's off my hands for the day though. Didn't bother with the St Mirren game but from what i've read people seem to think we are starting to look the part and im happy with our summer recruitment, lets just hope it turns into results on the pitch.

I'll go 3-0 Wednesday! (Nuhiu 2, Lopez)

We have a decent enough first 11 so not going to write off our chances. Can't say I'm looking forward to it as much as I thought I would though.

Damn myself for being so organised.

Doesn't take much to predict our starting lineup:

Fielding
Ayling Flint Williams
Little Pack Smith Bryan
Freeman
Wilbraham Kodjia

Slight doubts over Little coming back from a shoulder injury, but he's played 90 minutes in the last couple of friendlies so should be okay.

May be in a minority of City fans on here but I'm feeling optimistic about this one. Sheff Weds have made some impressive signings on paper and can see them doing well this season but I think this might be a good time to play them, before they all get a chance to settle in. Here's hoping anyway!

Just glad the wait is finally over and we're back playing Championship football again!

1-2 (Flint, Bryan)

Well looks like Fredericks will come straight into the first team in place of Little.

Did think of including a caveat 'barring any late signings', but I thought nah don't kid yourself

Good read that

Given it looks like only two new players will be involved we may be able to play some good stuff tomorrow, I think we will get chances and it will just come down to how clinical we are. Going with 2-1 Wednesday as I think it may take us a couple of games to find our feet at championship level, however I wouldn't be surprised for it to be 1-1 or 2-2.

Bristol City line-up: Fielding, Ayling, Flint, Williams, Fredericks, Smith, Freeman, Pack, Bryan, Wilbraham, Kodjia. Somehow Agard has made the bench xD!

Outplayed, didn't expect anything else with our current squad, and expect Wednesday to be right up there anyway. A few quality additions and we'll be ok but as it stands relegation is highly likely

Fair result really. Our passing was poor in the final third and we were just a bit slow in our play in general. Kodjia and Freeman barely got on the ball all game. And Weds were very well drilled defensively, noticeable how well they nullified the diagonal ball out to the opposite wing-back that was so effective for us last year. And at the other end they really exploited the space down our flanks, Wallace and Hunt gave us nightmares down the right.

Defensively a bit disappointing as well. Free header for the first and then scored from our corner, McGugan tapping home 20 seconds after clearing it off the line at the other end. Fine margins.

Bryan's injury played a part - that's a real worry. At the time it looked nasty and you feared he'd be out for a long time, but given he was able to play on for half an hour or so hopefully it's not too bad. He's the one player we can least afford to be injured.

Overall though, not too disheartened. Was always going to be a tough start and Weds look a pretty decent outfit - add a top no.9 and you're looking good there.

Bring on Brentford next Saturday!
