Yep, well done Brewers :10:

To this day, I still feel like I owe the Burton fans a couple of pints for the way we made Wembley at their expense back in 2008! Let's just say we had a little help from the ref, not that it mattered much in the end anyway as we didn't go up. But still.

Well done Burton fantastic achievement!

Doesn't seem long ago when we played Burton in our first league match at NYS in league 2 and now here we both are in the championship. Its a bigger achievement for your club though which would have been a smaller budget than anyone whos been promoted to championship before.

I can't believe that it's come to a point where Burton Albion are in a higher division than us. I remember going to Burton once with my dad about 15 years ago; I remember he took me to see their ground and I remember thinking they must be really tinpot in some non-league division.

Unbelievable.

Congrats Burton Albion, a hell of a rise through the leagues in recent years. Welcome to Molineux next season, another local game for us along with Villa :)

Another great footballing tale for this incredible season. Fantastic effort by the club as a whole and shows what can be done if the behind the scenes stuff is done right

I grew up in Wednesfield and was a Wolves fan until I moved to Burton in 1968. Went to watch Albion with a lad from school and been going ever since. Its been a fairy tale last few seasons and I can't quite believe that we will be competing with some of the teams we will be next season. Lots of midland derbies and the one Albion fans will be checking the fixtures for first will be the sheep if they blow it in the play offs.
Our stadium holds 6,912 and I think its safe to say it will be full every game next season.

A wonderful post TTM. To put how far you've come into perspective, we're not a big Championship club but have nearly finished 1 new stand that won't be far off double your whole grounds capacity at 11,000. It's an incredible rise! Well done, I tip my hat to you.

Never been to Burton, heard good things about it as an away day though.

Land a few good loan players and who knows, it's not a given they will go straight back down.

Very tough to tell how they'll do. Arguably the weakest squad that's come up in recent years, on a par with Yeovil probably, but there are a couple of clubs I thought would really struggle who did well (Rotherham a couple of years ago, Preston this year).

I think it'll probably be a step too far, but it wouldnt surprise me to see you here for 2-3 years

What on earth am I doing posting in here! Some facts about us:
In 2002 with Nigel Clough, we won the Northern Premier League to get promoted to the Conference at Vauxhall Motors FC, around 300 brewers made the trip up that day, me included. Our average gate at the time was 800. Still absolutely buzzing. I said to my 10 year old daughter (who is a big fan of the brewers), don't expect us to win many games in League One - it will be really tough. Actually, though next season surely it will be a step too far! As fans we all said we'd struggle in the conference...then league two. Our current side cost us £0 to my knowledge, our highest transfer fee paid is £25k about 5 years ago for Russell Penn. Our ground is new, but built for the conference/League Two - but does have the foundations already in place (from when it was built) to double the height of all 4 stands. The ground isn't big enough for the championship imo, so it will be interesting to see what the plans are to sort this. The only 2000 seats we have have been sold out every game in League one for a while - never mind the championship. The ground is only 10 years old, so the facilities are excellent despite its small size. If you do come to the Pirelli, imo the facilities are actually better when you stand. There is a full bar (more like a pub) behind each stand - not one of those concrete under the stand things either. You can sit down pre-match & at half time for a pint. I still haven't come across this anywhere else (other than hospitality). I'm not sure if you can do this in the away end - but you can pre-order and pay for a half time pint - it will be waiting for you with your name on it at half time.

Looking forward to coming to some huge grounds (for us) next season :)

Good away day Burton.

Buzzing they've come up, survival just became a whole lot easier and not because of their budget, size etc.. But because Nigel Clough is useless and he did his best to fuck them up this season.

"who are we" "who are we" thought I get that in in a turned about way !
The reality is beginning to sink in today. We are in the 2nd tier of English Football !
Just incredible for fans like me who have been supporting the club for nearly 50 years.
