I'll be voting green for my first election. I see them as the only real option .

Out of curiousity, what endears you so much to the Conservatives' credo that people like yourself and Spear become die-hard supporters?

Who said I was a die hard supporter? The choice between Labour or Tory is a no brainer really especially as the Tories are guaranteeing a referendum on Europe. Also I don't know why people can suffer 5 years of cuts and pay freezes only to allow Labour back in to throw it all away by spending.

Leaning towards Labour. Miliband isn't perfect but at least he acknowledges New Labour's failings and is talking about some of the issues a social democratic party should be concerned with.

Tory. Anything other than Conservative or Labour is a wasted vote and god help us if Labour stumble their way to power again.

Mind boggles that the polls are close.

Not really. Bearing in mind how similar the parties have been for several years, neck and neck is exactly what you'd expect.

If the Lib Dems hadn't backtracked on tuition fees last time, they could well have had my vote and a sizeable chunk of the youth vote as well. Pity.

I've maintained since 2010 that the Lib Dems made a mistake by getting into bed with the Conservatives. Had they been more patient, they would be a genuine choice now for so many people who are on the fence between Labour and Tory. Having said that, hind sight is a wonderful thing, and you can't really blame them for wanting a taste of Government that for so long seemed an unrealistic prospect at best.

In one respect you're right; I'm probably going to end up voting Labour and even I'm not convinced they should be trusted with the economy.

However, the other side of the coin is a Tory government; a Tory government that are going to make quite severe and deep cuts to public spending. If you're well off, and not overly reliant on public spending, then it makes sense to vote Tory. However, for millions of people the issue of public spending cuts is a much bigger concern than economic growth.

I know the two aren't distinct from one another, but for most people it's much easier to see the impact that public spending has on their day to day lives. With that in mind, it's no real surprise that many will favour Labour over Tory.

Regretfully I'll probably end up voting the Lib Dems again. I was one of those gullible students who got carried away last time out but they're still the party whose policies I'm most aligned to (education, NHS, mental health, even safe standing). I've toyed with the idea of voting Labour or Greens but it would take me a lot to persuade me.

Not that it matters, my constituency Sleaford and North Hykeham will always be a safe Tory seat - they won by a 20,000 margin in 2010 and Douglas Hogg held the seat for 30 odd years before the truth came out about his moat.

Just wondering if Red will be adding the option for a Hung Parliament, given they are the favourites?

Labour over Tory.

And if you don't have a conscious?

I've added a 'none' option for you and the likes of Dessie.

Appreciated, although I chose 'other' at the time of posting previously :D

I'll just leave this here:

the Lib Dems had very little choice and I do feel sorry for them even if my views are way off them as a party.

People need to realize the country was in a terrible state and one thing It did not need was 1-2 years of collapsed governments, decisions not going through due to minority governments, no direction, no plans, no ideas..............we'd been absolutely and utterly f*cked.

I'd be sure the Lib Dems would have wanted to go with Labour but they were such a leaderless disaster back then, Brown had no idea and we'd all lost any confidence in him since he had the financial strings which caused the problems, plus they gave out no plan, no reason we are here 5 full years later and I still have no real confidence Labour know what to do.

so they were pretty much between an rock and a hard place and I guess had to go with who they assumed they could work with better regardless of the consequences.

but with alot of student voters it will hurt them badly this time me thinks.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.

The problems that the conservatives have is that they have shafted the poor, but the oiks are allowed to vote too and might not be quite so happy to be stuck on zero hours contracts and using food banks while those in power cut taxes for the richest.

This is why I won't bother voting. There are things I'm strongly for and against in pretty much every policy set.

Exactly.

I couldn't click 'I wouldn't consider these policies' on any of those.

Labour, although a complete waste of a vote in Mid Bedfordshire. Voted Liberal Democrat in the Ceredigion constituency in 2010 and I stand by my choice, Mark Williams serves the constituency well and was one of a small minority of Lib Dem MPs who voted against the rise in tuition fees.

Either UKIP or Tories. Tories got very close in my rural Doncaster seat (don Valley) last time out. Anyone but the Marxists.
