Whilst I agree that he comes across as a decent, down to Earth kind of guy, I'm sure that any one of the other party leaders could give an equally convincing performance if all they were being asked about were topics on their own personal interests.

Don't disagree, just that it went against his public image.

Absolutely, and I think it will do him the world of good considering that a lot of people's objections seem to be about him as a person as much as his politics.

Just checked who's running in Sherwood. No UKIP listed atm but I could go for the Class War candidate, or someone from Justice for Men and Boys, although their official site being a free wordpress.com blog doesn't inspire much confidence. :err:

Probably Labour. Greens are closest to my beliefs, but I live in a Labour/Tory marginal seat so it's the least bad realistic option.

What is it exactly that Labour offer that the Greens or Lib Dems don't?

No wonder Labour are so right wing then if they can count on people thinking like that.

I'm not telling you how to think, I'm just saying that Labour have very little incentive to lean further to the left if they can count on people voting for them purely because they're less right wing than the Conservatives and can actually win the thing. I don't see the point voting for someone because they can win, I think your vote carries more weight when it's given to the people who actually represent you, in the long run at least.

If I lived in a safe seat, or a seat where the Green party had a chance of winning, then I would vote for them. It's not ideal to be voting based on who other people are going to vote for, but I think it would be stupid to ignore it.

Just got a second UKIP leaflet through the door. This one urging me to vote UKIP to 'save Broadland's children'. Didn't really have a lot else on it.
