I was just jesting. Villa do draw a lot of their support from Staffordshire, north Birmingham is a Villa stronghold. Ours is largely concentrated around south Birmingham and Solihull.
What's the most popular side in Handsworth?

The Villa are in a mess, but are still the team every teams in the Midlands wants to beat. I am looking forward to visiting old grounds like Wolves, Forest, Derby, hoping Coventry can pull it together and get up through the play-offs. Can bet your bottom dollar all those teams mentioned will sellout against the Villa.

Every non-tinpot Championship club will most likely sell out when we visit. Most haven't played us for years, the others will want to beat us, as we will unfortunately be the big boys in the league. Something I'd rather avoid tbh, as it makes our season far more difficult.

Of course they will, will be their cup final.

Yeahhh, I can see that arrogance biting us on the arse, but there we go. We're going there because we deserve to be there, just as much as Rotherham (if they stay up) do. No need for the arrogance mate, we're in the same pond as everyone else in the second tier next season, fair enough we may be a larger fish than the rest, that doesn't mean we swim any better.

You're not wrong to be fair. If we stay up I'm excited at the prospect of playing Villa - big club who we haven't played for a few years and a new ground to tick off where we can hopefully get a huge allocation to sell.

That is of course, if we stay up - but the potential days out next season at Villa and Newcastle are looking particularly tasty.

As half the division has been in the top flight in the not too distant past, I don't think it'll be quite that unanimous a 'cup final'. It obviously will for a fair few clubs, and there's no shame in that.

However, I just can't get over the idea of Burton Albion hosting Aston Villa and their parent club next season in league fixtures.

It's just...so utterly farfetched.

If Newcastle drop they'll be on a par with Villa as the big boys so you won't be on your own.

Newcastle have just been down there though, we haven't for a damned long time, I'd argue we'll be a slightly bigger scalp.

Did it take anyone else ages to see anything except a weird Jar Jar Binks in that lion photo?

Gives the new manager time to think about who to clear out ready for next season - or keep.

Sean Dyche linked. Would be a backwards move for him though so I can't see it.
Burnley look like coming up, obviously Dyche shouldn't even consider the move.

Pearson seems like a realistic option. Moyes otherwise, but I doubt he fancies the Championship.

I'd think both of those would be too smart to take a job like Villa, with little investment, a squad full of shit players and what's left of their fans at war with everyone involved with the club. Really don't think they'll be anywhere near promotion next season.

Probably similar to Fulham since relegation.

I don't think Villa are in a great position to come straight back up, but they should still be one of the most attractive Championship sides to managers. They've got a few decent players, are a big club and will have that parachute money. Some of these managers who are supposedly waiting for a PL job would be better off taking a job in the Championship, they'll be waiting for ever before they know it.

Meh. Moyes and Pearson are favourites, I'll be happy with either.

Seems strange timing, the arse end of an international break. Steve Bruce seems to be the name on everyone's lips round here, can't see it myself, he'd be mad to even consider it.

I'd love a fucking silly one, is Paul Ince working?

No arrogance, its true.

As for the new gaffer, it wont be Moyes or Pearson as the board are clueless, and wont spend money which either would expect to build. It will be somebody involved with the club as a cheap option, IE - McDonald, Little. Another puppet.
