Moving to a bigger club, who could blame her?

Give over

it seems a bit of a nonsense but how often do you get a non league club being discussed on the Jimmy Fallon show? we don't need to get a very big following in America for it to be worthwhile. We have been selling shirts overseas for the first time in ages, possibly ever. Celebrity pull is huge.

Jimmy Fallon? Come on! They don’t give a shit mate, the focus needs to be locally.

Any US Market opportunity for Wrexham is negligible, let’s not be delusional, gotta focus on what’s realistic.

The money side of things is great I'm sure and if they put a good team out on the pitch, winning games, promotion etc I'm sure the Wrexham fans will be happy. But there is a gimmicky feel to this so far. It's "look at us Hollywood stars owning this little club in North Wales hahaha"

Americans can't do anything understated and classy. Hollywood stars even less so I imagine.

Feel your pain! But of course you can still enjoy the ride make Wrexham your second team and you can enjoy all the excitement with us

Nah l'll just sit back and watch us implode at some point in the not too distant future. Cheers for the kind offer anyway.

It definitely feels like a bit of a circus at times, but there is a lot of substance to what they are actually doing that probably isnt reported beyond Wrexham- Rob McElhenney in particular seems absolutely committed. Ryan Reynolds markets all his stuff (Aviation Gin, Mint Mobile) in that sort of jokey way- but it works!

Gimmicky?
They have already spent monies on renovations in disabled Wrexham fans houses.Donated bottle of Gins to local public houses. The 100k grant we recieved from the WG has already been committed to Community projects.
Disability and Womans teams will be developed as a priority and a pace
Assume your chairman does this?

The development of the womens team is really interesting and something I didn't think about initially. Quite an easy route to European competition as they play in the Welsh pyramid, and you'd think that would be the element of the club to market in the US given how big Womens football is over there

Essentially every football club at this level does fantastic community work, to be fair.

Our owner donated a fair bit to the NHS during the pandemic. He's local to the area and has donated plenty to community projects over the years and will continue doing so.

I'm sure some Wrexham fans will love being on Jimmy Fallon etc, it's a matter of opinion. Personally, I think it's gimmicky and crass. But then again I'm not a Wrexham fan so Wrexham fans would be right to say it has nothing to do with me. Just offering my opinion on it.

Ultimately as I said, it will boil down to what is on the pitch. It always does with football fans.

To be fair football is about opinions .I think most Wrexham fans will expect a more competitive team next season and one good enough for promotion.
The excitement level for Wrexham fans is very high at the moment and long may it last.

Fair share of bitterness in here.

We were on Jimmy Kimmel by the way, not Jimmy Fallon.

Its a big summer for us, with the new CEO starting 1st June she should be setting her stall out early doors and it will be interesting to see if we will be involved in the playoffs when she starts and we 'do a Tranmere' and bin him off.

My guess is no, and whilst I do not rate him as a manager my current thoughts are that I think we will end up sticking with him next season.

the pedigree of players that we bring in as well as release will be interesting.

There are a hell of a lot of improvements that the club can do to the ground in this downtime prior to fans being able to attend again for the upcoming season, Humphrey Ker has been very transparent as to the goings on in the stadium and what improvements they are proposing.

R&R may actually get to visit the stadium over the summer too, which would create another massive media buzz.

I don't see how exposure on a TV show watched by more people than the number who live in Wales can be anything but a good thing for us. Trying to pretend that you wouldn't like it at your club just isn't going to wash.

And yes, with one of the biggest stars in Hollywood buying us along with the creator of a highly popular TV show, and with the likes of Chris Hadfield supporting us and Beckham talking about us we are going to grow some sort of fanbase over in the States. To laugh at that suggestion just makes you come across as a bit bitter.

Definitely not one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. Incredibly famous person yeah but he's not like Tom Hanks, Samuel L Jackson, Julia Roberts, etc. level.

I'm not talking about one of the biggest ever, I'm talking about one of the biggest now. He was the 2nd highest paid actor in 2020.

People these days don't want to watch the actors you mentioned on the big screen anymore, they want superheroes and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

You can’t beat a multi-million pound takeover. Ours turned out to be a load of bollocks but was still tremendous fun.

They don't want to watch Reynolds on the big screen either, seen as other than Deadpool he hasn't done much on the big screen.

Second highest paid actor as you put it came from Netflix throwing money at him not big screen films.
