Hope that the change of ownership works out, it will be good to play one of our localish rivals in the FL again.

It will be interesting to see who replaces Keates. Suspect the Cowleys won’t be showing. They’ve been linked with Rovers and don’t think that’s realistic either.
Lord Cowley will if he knows a camera is likely to be following him around. He’ll be sweeping up and carrying some Mr Muscle at all times.

How rapid and sheepish was the Wrexham fan high horse dismount? Distinctly remember any side that wasn't fan owned being the spawn of the devil for a few seasons while they held hands and swayed in the meadow to the beat of their own drum.

In all seriousness, I hope they come back up and stagnate in 15th to 22nd place in League Two like all the best BELTs do. Grimsby fans definitely more excited about the prospect of Shaun Pearson returning to Blundell Park than they are about Ryan Reynolds.

As has been stated many times, when a Proper Club is considered to be Going For It™, this has always been accepted.

It's the pure evil of Fleetwood, Crawley, Salford etc that must be stopped at all costs. It's all detailed in the Natural Order Constitution.

Natural Order Constitution? Wow you guys have been unionising these last few seasons, it seems. Where do Halifax stand in all of this?

You won't have time for all this nonsense when you get promoted, you'll be too busy scrabbling around for single points at home to Stevenage.

Unfortunately Halifax Town AFC went bust.

We stand apart from it all, as the ONLY authority in these matters. Mickey Mousers Wrexham and Hahahahartlepool have unsuccessfully attempted to set up an unofficial, quasi committee style thing but nobody takes them seriously. How could they? :ds:

Amazing gesture from Rob.
Quality. 6 hours ago, I wonder if he's seen it yet? What a great way to wake up.

Suspect we will see a lot of this stuff. I know it’s all for their PR really but still a nice thing to do. I hope we don’t get loads of people trying to get money out of them for stuff though.

It is PR you're right, but again as you say it's nice to focus on the change that that brings for that guy with cerebral palsy rather than that.

Any news on how the £2m is being invested? Loans? Split equally between budget, maintenance, academy? One investment or done over 'x' years?

£2m injected straight into the account they say (not a loan to the club) and it'll be a combination of things like that I imagine. I reckon we might get about 500k added to the transfer budget for January if it's completed by then. Ground is a bit of a mess so needs improvements. We also need to sort a proper training ground, some of it might be used to pay-to-play at Colliers Park. It is a joke we have a world-class facility like that on the doorstep and we don't train there yet the academy does.

We also need to pay the CEO that will be hired which could be a hefty salary if it's someone high-profile. Plus other wages of behind the scenes staff I imagine.

And the rest to pay off Keates and his cronies. £2m doesn't stretch too far when you think about it....

You lot had Jumping John and Adam Stag in fine form all season though.

What about the noncey county fan who convinced loads of people in the old TFF non-league section JR was skint and we were under constant threat of liquidation

I remember us signing George Pilkington who just left Luton and everyone went beserk, we did sign about 15 extra players so rivals could not sign them mind haha!

Yeah but back then we were fan-owned so it all was about monitoring the dodgy Johns. Radford overspending then banishing about 20 players to the reserves and buying a whole new squad after a few defeats and then Fenty going for it by SPLASHING OUT big money for Ross Hannah after he’d scored a couple on loan.

They even had TWO managers for a while, they were that cash-rich.

We were never on par with the Luton, Mansfield, Crawley, Fleetwood, FGR and Bristol Rovers...never had the top budget. Us fans had to raise the Bogle money ourselves remember and it came with #hashtags.

Luton were king shitbags, trying to steal all the best loan players from all the other clubs in the January window.

Mansfield never had the top budget, just a solid 2nd behind Luton!

How ridiculously competitive was it down here back then!

It was definitely way more fun than being in the bottom half of League 2, in my opinion.

Peak competitiveness has to be when Wrexham got, what was it...98 or 99 points? And finished 2nd behind Fleetwood and then lost in the playoffs.

Think Kiddy also got something mad like 95 points and didn’t go up due to big-spending Mansfield.

That’s the season you made up the ‘Year of the Stag’ profile picture because we were like 14th at Christmas and ended up winning the title

You signed Jake Speight off us. That wasn't very brotherly.

Martin Riley too.

Definitely a Wrexham fan, and my memory of Padge is he was way too depressed about being a wank non-league team to do anything like that

Speight was a waste of time, too busy being a agent. Riley was at Mansfield before Wrexham, Speight too actually!
