I was rather looking forward to my teatime football fix yesterday, but the shiny New Wrexham couldn't get the game on. Still Tin Pot, huh. :dk:

Unfortunately Brexit has caused delays in the weather machine delivery.

They will present their plan next Sunday and the result of the vote will be revealed a week later.
Thought this was all done and dusted last week! :fl:

This will soon be taking on our takeover that rolled on for 2 years and saw us go bust before it went through....... :woot:

We are the Goodies. The anti-Chesterfield.

HUMPHREY KER revealed that players and staff at The Racecourse who did not receive their full-wages after being furloughed will get money back.

The government's furlough scheme was introduced for people who could not work due to the coronavirus pandemic, paying employees placed on leave up to 80 per cent of their salary, and up to a maximum of £2,500 a month.

The scheme helped football clubs survive when the 2020-21 season was suspended in March but Kerr, who has been appointed executive director following Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's takeover of Wrexham, says those employees who were affected will not be left out of pocket.

"The club is going to be paying all the furlough money that members of staff and players had surrendered to help the club last season because our feeling is that was done to help the club when the club was in a tough time," said Ker.

"Now that the club is in less tough time, we appreciate that support from the people that gave it to us.

"It just seemed like the right thing to do on our side of things, and we will aim to be guided by that as a principle.

"These were sacrifices that were made by members of staff and players without any expectation of necessarily getting that money back.

"Most of this stuff was agreed and happened long before we were in the picture but our mantra is we want to turn this place back into a positive environment where we all work together to head in the same direction.

"That was just a little gesture that we could make that said to everybody that we were serious about doing that as well as just saying we were serous about doing it."

Bit surprised, would have made sense to have *some* representation on there - something I think all Club's should have.
We'll have a separate community board, which will have input on non-footballing matters but thankfully will have no power to actually make decisions.

I don't see why we should have the need for fan representation on the board. You do understand that under our previous fan board we nearly went down last season right?

so our pitch heaters and covers are only effective down to -7 degrees, and temperatures reached -10 on Friday

Groundsmen are confident the game will be on Tuesday though

Not at all -- You are probably right as Luton Town have been quite successful in their history. And as you say have had a better history than us. But gate wise when we are playing in the same division and on a par. We do get better crowds both home and away.
On what time span are you basing this off? We have consistently got a larger attendance than you at home recently and I’d hazard a guess away as well but I’ve not checked that as lockdown boredom only extended to checking home averages. The last 2 season last where were at the same level, 15/16 in league 2 and 18/19, where one of us got promoted in each season we got higher average home attendance in both in a smaller stadium

15/16: 8554 / 8096
18/19: 9516 / 8320

Apologies to all but thought you’d like some Luton Willy waving for old time sake.

Aye he does like a camera does our Dan. Fair play to him, I think he’s a great pundit, and actually does point out things about a game that the average fan may not notice.

The bigness in the league debate. Yes I’d say Luton are the only club bigger than us to have ended up down here, but unlike us, they needed the help of a points deduction. Rovers aren’t far off, but they’re Bristol fucking Rovers, who cares about them?
Rovers are a great club who showed real class in the season they spent here. Their visit to The Shay saw the local pubs overtaken by an invasion of good humoured pirates (which attire, none of them could account for :fl: ) and hearing the crowd sing Goodnight Irene down at Bristol was a memorable highlight. A few of them even turned up at The Shay for the England C international (is that team still going?) because one of their players had been selected.

This is proper beef though. Expensive stuff.

Not like that Lidl beef Halifax think they’ve got with us.
Where does the Chesterfield BEEF with us rank?

They should, but ultimately some dictatorships do not want (or require) interference.

Thank you - you lot seem to have some sensible discussions.....

I assume that's a joke.

Good to see another Red here, we need to all band together to stand against the evil of Chesterfield.

This isn't a bad place, when we go up I'll miss it. Mostly because the League Two board is DREADFUL.

We don't think we have a beef with Wrexham. We don't have beefs with anybody, we're everybody's favourite other club. :ds:

DSL is only a mod because he's desperate to be relevant. Nobody even remembers who he supports anymore. I think it's one of those Mickey Mouse affairs that buy a place here, pretend they're heading for the Football League by talking vaguely about it, stay until the money runs out and are never heard of again. There's loads of them, now slowly dying in the regional leagues.:ds:
