Unreal that a thread on Wrexham has brought about Luton & Bristol Rovers BEEF.
Sorry for that. But hopefully it may bring back happy memories for you.

We'll have a separate community board, which will have input on non-footballing matters but thankfully will have no power to actually make decisions.

I don't see why we should have the need for fan representation on the board. You do understand that under our previous fan board we nearly went down last season right?
You were fan run at that point so it's not really comparable?

The biggest problem with Supporter Trusts/Supporter Boards is people get too comfy and get ideas above their stations, which is why people should be elected every 'x' years to keep things fresh.

They're not necessarily there to make decisions, they're there to voice opinions and feedback, communicating from the Board down, and supporters up.

I think there’ll be enough engagement with supporter groups anyway, no need for an “official” voice as it were.

They are on top of everything, their research and PR has been flawless.

In that case, we will have a separate board with fan representation which will advise the main board on all community matters. That was one of the things Ryan & Rob put forward.

Yep. Last night the club donated £5k towards Carl Darlington's cause: Carl's Running 80k by 28th Feb 2021

What a lovely thing to do.

We're also installing LED advertising boards. Does that make us big time?

Blimey. Whats happened in here?
1. I am no longer a mod
2. I might be from Derbyshire but I dont support Chesterfield...
3. Despite what BT2F says for a club the size and Fan base of Alfreton to be at Step 2 is a very good effort.
The majority of us have BT2F on ignore. Join us.

This isn't a bad place, when we go up I'll miss it. Mostly because the League Two board is DREADFUL.
Just been reading a bit, I'd rather stay down here. You've mainly got that oddball Vanni making post after post calling us the new Salford, saying Reynolds is in it to make money from a documentary

There's also a Crawley fan (I think) who for some reason puts his name at the bottom of every post, an absolutely nailed-on deviant. Then there's the annoying combination of Mansfield fans and Chris FGR.

Don't forget the weird Carlisle lot , that Bolton fan, the Bradford guy who thinks they're bigger than Bayern. List is endless. Then you've got Chipmunx and his goal updates.

At least here we only have OneDecentLester who'll be gone once Chesterfield lose a game and B2TF, but he's at his probation meetings half the time.

Probably is when you've been outside with your nose pressed up against the glass like a poor little orphan child for a decade. It's a decent forum though, the League One forum is where it starts to get crap.

Gonna be hilarious when we come down and jump the queue by pissing this tinpot league. We're getting the band back together. Hursty, check. Lennell John-Lewis, check. Shaun Pearson's only played twice this season, we'll have him back.

Vanni, Mansfield and Chris FGR are all sound. It's Bradford, Bolton and Port Vale that you need to be watching out for. Also you definitely are gonna be the new Salford. I'm guessing you're just trying to deflect this? This will crumble at some point and you'll start calling everyone jealous, happens with all the moneybags teams.

I haven't really been following all this Wrexham stuff on here, so I'm not sure if you've been doing this "we're actually still a nice club guys" schtick for a while or what.

I dont accept that ChrisFGR is OK now, not unless he's had a lobotomy in the meantime. I suppose his players goal return predictions were pretty funny.

Is there not a difference between the likes of Salford and clubs with an actual history in the football league as well as decent supporter backing? Do you all hate Bournemouth?

Just to be clear I'm more than fine with every other club hating on us if we rise up the leagues. We've never had money behind us so it'll make for a nice change.

I don't like Bournemouth no. Hate is a strong word though. Bournemouth sucked up a points deduction and then immediately started spending again. Same with Rotherham, same with Bolton this season. The likes of Salford, Crawley, Fleetwood have histories too. Whether that's Football League or Non-League is irrelevant to me. For what it's worth, I don't like Salford because of their Class of 92 connection more than the money thing. The money adds to it, but it's not always the main factor. There are always multiple things to consider. FGR were much derided for years after Vince came in, but I've changed my opinion of them over time and I can see that they're trying to do things in quite an admirable way now. Eastleigh were another one, it's easy to dismiss clubs that are Going For It™, but when we played them in the playoffs their fans and the club in general were class.

I get the feeling our reception into League Two is going to be very warm.

It probably will be, you're the club that most L2 fans want to see come back. And rightly so probably. Personally, I'd choose Stockport, but Wrexham's a great away day and people have fond memories of playing you.

I doubt we'll go up within the next few years, there's definitely going to be some random team suddenly getting 127 points next season.

I guess we will only really know how much we are Going For It™ come the summer and we see what sort of players are coming in.

I hate Bournemouth. Not because of when they because a bankrolled team, but because of the 6 nil win in 2004 and James Hayters 2 minute hattrick.

I've never forgiven nor forgotten.

I can't stand Bournemouth and Fulham.

Met a Fulham fan out here the other day, he's from Wimbledon and one of the poshest football fans I've ever met. Eventually told him I don't like Fulham 'Oh, you're the first person I've met who doesn't like Fulham'. Fuck off. I bet there's loads of people who don't like 'em. Ripping us off for our YTS players, Al Fayed, no atmosphere, most pointless promoted side to the Prem ever, every time they go up they are just a pointless waste of time. 'But we were only in the 4th division a year or two' haha. They all forget don't they once they get some cash behind them. Wankers.

Bournemouth, just a Russian oligarch's plaything. Too small for the Prem, just wasn't right seeing them there. Again fans who forget where they came from. But we will never forget. No way.

Just like we'll never forget Wrexham, they will always be one of us even when they defeat Forest Green in the Champions League final in 2028. Nothing changes the DNA.

Proper Bournemouth fans, the ones who supported them when they were kicking around in Division 3 and 4, couldn't get tickets anymore when they made the Premiership, for all the local Southampton and Portsmouth fans who suddenly realised they'd been "lifelong" Bournemouth fans all along. :ds:

All seems very promising for Wrexham fans this I must say... Just wondered who’s actually going to be identifying / Negotiating with / signing these players that your planning on bringing in with your mega-bills?

Have you got a decent scouting network/infrastructure set up already? Or is this something R&R plan to address by appointing people of expertise in this area?

Plenty of examples of clubs at every level of the pyramid that have big finances in place, but ended up pissing the budget up the wall on ill-thought out signings who end up flattering to deceive!

Goes without saying that if you get that part right, along with a decent manager who’s philosophy/style of play fits the profile of players you’re going to be bringing in... then you’ll take some stopping. However, much easier said than done!
