A stadium that has to share with a retail park will never be a nice stadium. Its well known for being called the breezeblock.
What's your stadium like bucket shaker?

The ground they're sharing next season holds 4,000 so they'll probably be playing in front of a full stadium at home for the vast majority of it.

Not a chance, they'll be lucky to get half of that, plus they haven't been accepted into a league as yet

I'd assume they'd average almost what they used to, but maybe you're right and they won't get up to a 4,000 average. I'd hazard a guess that their average will be closer to 4,000 than 2,000 though.

They've been accepted into the North West Counties Division One according to Wiki?

Not received confirmation as of 9th July, don't believe all you read on wiki :)

Never claimed it to be a nice stadium. Not everyone needs whack their tiny dick out to show off to a forum full of men. "Ooo, look at me and our HUGE stadium" forgetting you're in the bottom division :woo:

Fear not League 2 fans, our forum suggests we've got one of the relegation places sewn up after we made a couple of signings this evening.

I was putting across my point of view why a move to Bolton would be attractive to lge 1/2 players.
The stadium was one of many reasons why .

There again i should no better than be riled by a Bucket Shaker

No, we pretty much break even every single season nowadays. We're a plc so the financial records are on the Town website for all to download and read.

before the lockdown I seem to remember a article saying Grimsby signed off their biggest L2 budget yet, does that suggest Fenty was willing to put in some funds again?

Yes, but there are now strong rumours around that it was Fenty that released the bat soup in Wuhan so that he wouldn't have to follow through with that. Serious answer though, yeah that had been speculated but never confirmed...I don't know if it was Fenty that was supposed to be putting money in, or if was coming from a different revenue stream/board member(s) or something though. It's the kind of thing our board would play up and then only end up being 50k extra on the wage budget. An easy assumption to make would be that if we were going to chuck a little bit of extra money in then this season would be the wisest time to do so with Holloway in charge and with a summer window. I think COVID will have put a stop to that now.

How can you afford to pay Doyle big bucks but tell the EFL you can’t afford to start the season with Covid restrictions?

However, the bigger issue is the testing and biosecurity protocol that has made football’s return possible.

Aside from those clubs involved in the end of season play-offs, Leagues One and Two are yet to function under the current strict and regular COVID-19 testing. At least a dozen clubs, including Bolton and Ipswich, have told the EFL they will not restart as they cannot afford the costs involved.

It means the EFL faces the threat of clubs refusing to play unless the testing rules are relaxed by updated government advice, which seems most likely, or the EFL can find a more cost-effective way for the biosecurity rules surrounding post-COVID football to be met.

Either way, how to make football in England’s third and fourth tiers viable remains a live discussion.

Either old news or bollocks. Club officials went to the recent Blackburn match to see how they set up on match days, so that we could copy and implement for when the season starts

never seen Vale this fancied by oppo fans, well unsettling. It's hard to know how representative our good run before lockdown was of our actual quality, but before then we were 10th for about 3 months for a reason. Pope's another year past his prime, Cullen will still probably struggle for fitness and Scott Brown will probably make an extra couple of costly mistakes as will Legge as much as I love 'em. Equally though we've got a few players coming closer to their prime in Conlon, Smith, Gibbons, Burgess and who knows, we may get near a full season out of our best player Oyeleke.

We basically need to sign at least 15 goals worth of players when Askey gets his centre mid and striker in for us to finish where everyone's saying.

can’t wait to put Mansfield in the play-offs this time without having to put in a potential shite manager disclaimer.

I think the worst possibility with GC is mediocre.

We seemed to finally click after Christmas and arguably the Man City game hindered us as we had a couple of poor games straight after.

We didn’t lose games often and seemed solid enough and had started scoring more goals, my main gripe is the points we dropped from winning positions (often late on!) which was something like 25 points! We got ourselves into positions to have done far far better last season but be it mentally or whatever we just had that mistake in us to switch off. I’d personally like another centre half as an option although if Manny can get fit that would improve our midfield which was impressive enough last season even further.

Main reason we were better than the previous few years was we finally sorted that central midfield which had been slow and lacked any bite with the likes of Tonge, Kay and Pugh running It with a combined age of 740.

we lost 14 points from winning positions in the 1st 8 games of last season and were in the bottom 4 after 9 matches... it's just a matter of getting your act together quicker....

Its something that crept back in, two of the last 3 saw 4 dropped and in the end cost us a spot in the top 7 but it’s a fault and one we need to rectify. That said Notts Co and Mansfield shown that being a favourite doesn’t always translate on the field when the time comes.

Yes really. But that's only if you ask me right now. The new season's a long way off and there's still plenty of time left for me to change my mind.

Here are some of my worries about next season.

1. We have an inexperienced manager in Mark Bonner and I fear for us if we get off to a poor start. And we've had quite a few of those since winning promotion back to the FL.

2. Taylor and Darling will (in all likelihood) be the two CB's. I've never been a fan of Taylor's and IMO he's no better than your average conference CB. And he still can't pass the ball after I don't know how many years in the game. And another thing about the back four - I pray to god that Bonner doesn't give the LB slot to Dunk.

3. As yet, I'm not sold on either of the two goalies at the club.

4. Finally, and this is my biggest concern, I hope that any loan signings we make are on a par with the ones we had this year. Smith, El Mizouni and Carruthers were all quality players for this level and we are going to miss them. A lot.

Inexperienced manager is all it takes, think about the squad we had and what Dempster did to it. Thank god for Maynard.

I take all your points and agree with most of them. I would have binned Taylor and O'Neil offer but given Dunk another year because he's versatile and a good impact player. He also played well from Jan onwards.

Agree on the Keepers - they are a worry. Both no.2's in my opinion.

I was not a fan on Bonner taking over but I think he got the group together and the performances/points tally improved but that was done without Smith, Carruthers and El Mizouni as they were all injured so I can't agree on point 4.

The first two signings are encouraging and everyone in the game has high hopes for Bonner as a manager but you're right, he must get a good start.

Cant be bothered will a full table but possibly
Bradford champions, FGR and Notts County to go up.
Vale, Bolton, Mansfield and Salford for the playoffs
Stevenage and Morecambe to go down. We will be 15th
