Huge chance for us now tomorrow, after that Bradford vs MK result.

I'm not suggesting MK are out of it, I'm just saying we have a huge chance to pull clear, and hope we take advantage. Hard to see anyone catching 8 points on us at this stage, especially as we don't have to play them again - but, not taking anything for granted, we have 3 tough games now, let's get the job done.

Looking good for you now - if you can follow it up.

It's weird, but I reckon MK will get beat by Gills as well - so in a matter of a week you (and, I suppose us, to a lesser extent), could be well clear of them.

And you've got to take into account now that the number of games left is dwindling.

No doubt we'll both screw it up!

As long as Bristol turn up thus not forfeiting the game like Estonia did against Scotland in the 90s you'll be clear tomorrow night. Can't see why there's all the ifs and buts about it. Some of our better players will be on the bench, failing players who are pals of Page will start and we will park the bus which considering we don't keep clean sheets is pointless.

I really hope you lose to Oldham Athletic.

The only hope is that our run in is way better than yours, especially April.

Parking the bus means we will struggle. Ask Crawley!

This has got 'cock up' written all over it. We have hammered Vale in our last meetings and posters are predicting an easy win.
I'm genuinely worried now.

Last time you played as at a good time with Micky doomed and the lads devoid of any confidence after 5 straight defeats in all competitions, this time its slightly better but we haven't put in a top performance since battering Yeovil in Page's early games, the only chink of light is Achille Campion looks like finally starting who will be unknown to Bristol City and appears to know where the goal is given half a chance after his reserve form and scoring Saturday so he might the form he's on take any chances we get in decent positions (if we even create any).

Overall we can't keep clean sheets, only a poor Rochdale attack have been kept out this season when theres 11 opponents on the field so we are at least a goal down before we start. I can only see us winning potentially by a 1-0 scoreline in a smash and grab but if we cant keep them out it simply wont happen.

As I said id play the reserves to rest the key players for a huge match at Walsall Saturday rather than risk injury or suspension and write this off.

City in the past maybe. This current lot are a complete different kettle of fish. Should be comfortable tonight.

I agree with this.

I really don't think this team has it in them to let all the good work so far this season go to waste. I expect a fully committed, professional performance that will be too good for Port Vale.

2-0

You'd think so with two strikers on 14k and 8k (no idea if Agard is fit) and a budget probably 5x Vale's.

Pretty much this, with the advantage they have financially then I've no issue with us losing this.

And how the fuck have you came to the conclusion that we are paying our players that much?

We aren't. Fulham might be but we certainly aren't. Agard may have turned down £8K at Leeds but it's been stated he has come to us on lower money so it's total bollocks!
Why everyone seems to bang on about us having a massive budget is beyond me, we certainly do NOT and it's hardly our fault if other clubs have less fans. You don't see our lot moaning that the Blades have a higher budget than us.

Every bloody match thread we get this crap! Get some more supporters and you can spend a bit more (not aimed at you Hurrikeen). Stop moaning about it and try putting some effort into adding to your support. It's boring as fook!! We have to comply with FFP, just the same as everyone else.

It stinks off not knowing what they're talking about. In transfer fees we are in profit this summer, and in comparison to wages with off loading our championship wages we are actually financially better. Off course we are going to be able afford better players, we generate more income through attendances ect. Maybe we should just sign players on a free ( we done a lot of that this summer) and not offer decent wages, just give the rest of them a chance?

It's ignorance and jealousy David. We have to comply with the rules and it's hardly our fault if we get better crowds than those that moan. The fact our owner is minted seems to make people forget about FFP!

Fact. Source - our chairman. His source, the Football League handed out financial records last week. If Kaiser's reading, don't worry mate, he wasn't moaning about it - just using it as an example. He said your budget it over 6x ours.

I repeat, he wasn't moaning about it. Nor am I, if you've got the money then spend it, there's no salary cap or owt. I was merely saying you *should* be winning with those types of figures in the same way big teams with more expensive squads should win cup ties.

So he said it and that makes it fact. We are not paying Smith 14k. I think anyone with half a brain could come to that conclusion.

He'd be a bit fucking stupid to lie considering the stuff is publicly available to all football league clubs - someone could just come out and say 'look, no they're not'. I said on TFF weeks ago that Smith was on £14k (paid by you) and we had this whole thing then...weeks later and the same exact figure is quoted by someone else. You're paying him £14k - no need to get pissy about it, I'd probs pay him 14k if I had it lying around.

By the way, not one person on here has moaned about it. I wish we had that type of money and spent that type of money so of course I'm jealous.

Why are you all getting so defensive. Roles reversed and I'd just be posting loads of gifs of people throwing money and linking you to Shane McMahon's entrance theme.

Isn't it funny how every OTHER chairman knows how much we are paying OUR players but WE don't? #BULLSHIT!
Our club have openly stated we don't do the big wages anymore. We used to, that I will admit, but those days are gone.
Smith might well be on £14K but it's definitely NOT all being paid by us, a percentage maybe but not all of it.

What's your source then? I've provided two that state that exact figure and each time there's just been dummies spat out and 'NONONONONONO WE'RE NOOOOOTTTTTTT'

You have lots of money...you're paying your players lots of money. Why are you reacting like someone being told their mum got to where she is by handing out blowies?
