Excluding Sheffield United, their budget pretty much blows everyone else out of the water.

The key for Bristol City though, is that they are living up to lofty expectations whereas Sheff U are underachieving.
I reckon Orient's budget would be up there with Bristol City and the Blades.

What's your source then? I've provided two that state that exact figure and each time there's just been dummies spat out and 'NONONONONONO WE'RE NOOOOOTTTTTTT'
I'm just quoting the club I support who state that we aren't paying those sorts of wages anymore.
I will ask you the same question as the roundabout dweller as you both seem to know all about our finances, how are we getting away with it with the current FFP rules?

Cash investments obviously. Fuck me, thought that was pretty fucking obvious.

How are we getting away with it re FFP then?
Yours
Deluded.
You have a small squad for one. Wouldn't put it past Mr Lansdown to be injecting money in some mysterious way ala Bournemouth and Man City either.

Kieran Agard turned down Championship clubs to join League 1 Bristol City. Surely you have to ask yourself why?

Doesn't have to be mysterious as long as he's investing liquid assets of his rather than loaning the money. Which is how we covered our losses under Curle, and why we had to reduce it not to fall foul of FFP when it was brought in.

I wouldn't hold your breath Jon. Just because SL is minted, we are obviously buying promotion.

You say that like there'd be something wrong with that, we did it in League 2 and I didn't give a shit when people said 'you bought the league' (ironically Cotterill was our manager there too and he did a good job even considering we had the best team in the league easily). You're acting proper fucking weird about this.

So you're saying that OUR club representatives who have stated we do NOT pay very high wages are lying then?

Link please. Also what does 'very high wages' mean? It's all relative. What are the actual figures? Get me those.

Why are you reacting like someone being told their mum got to where she is by handing out blowies?
Because we get the same shit levelled at us in every thread. 'Moneybags BCFC' blah, blah, blah.
By the way, my dear old mum has been dead for 11 years, thanks for that!

'like someone being told their mum' - it was a fucking simile, a literary device ffs.

I really don't know what you want from me, you're spending lots of money. That's a fact. Don't be a fanny about it. Embrace it.

I don't doubt that we are spending quite a bit more than most as our crowds are quite a bit bigger but we aren't paying all of Smiths' alleged £14K.
I will find the document Bish, give me a chance and I will find it. WTGR, I will believe my own club rather than those from somewhere else. You believe whatever you want TBH but I WILL find the press release, eventually.
There's no way I can get actual players wages in figures, can you?

If you think your attendances are enough to fund that squad then as TCM said...deluded.

Seeing as another one of our threads is littered with obsessions about our budget, I'll leave this thread alone until after the game.

This is all I have found thus far stating we will NOT be paying the high wages paid previously.

There are more but you have your opinion yet we are complying with FFP but our owners wealth is seriously clouding your understanding of that fact.
Now, back to the game.

In all fairness to those bemoaning our "wealth" and buying power", there's no denying the fact that since Steve Lansdown has been in charge we have spent more than other clubs of a similar size to ourselves.

The difference at the moment is that this time it would seem the money has been well spent.

Wow this thread exploded.

Shock horror, the club with higher crowds has a bigger budget than those with half/third/quarter the fans. Notts County fans moaning about our budget is equivalent to us moaning about Tottenham's. After all Tottenham's attendances are triple ours and likewise ours are triple County's.

We are hardly in a false position compared to where a club our size should be, unlike say Bournemouth.

My guess:

Fielding
Ayling Flint Williams
Tavernier Saville Smith Cunningham
Freeman
Smith Agard
I would agree with that, especially as Cott's said Wilbs had a 'reaction' after the MK game. Give JET a rest on the bench and he's there if we need him. It keeps a good few fresh for the Blades on Saturday too.

We need to take advantage of last nights result so 3 points is a must.

As for the budget can't it all just go in a thread 'budgets of league 1 clubs'....?

Personally feel he might keep Freeman on the bench. Let him & JET come on for the last 10/15 minutes to liven up the ending :)

Waggy to start perhaps?
