Well another defeat and whilst apparently a little unlucky at times surely the pressure should crank up on Page. Sounds like the defence has really let us down again yet he persists with weak links and playing his pals.

Relegation battle looming by the looks of it.

I guess 3-1 isn't too bad considering the opposition and the weakness of the starting XI tonight. Hopefully he will finally make the changes and settle for a strongest starting XI at Walsall. Our bench is stronger than our first team at the moment!

Vale looked a half decent side first half tbf, niggly, difficult to play against and played it about nicely at times. It's just as their fans predicted their heads dropped after the first goal went in

We need to sign that Marshall up. Not sure how vale would create much without him?

I had it at 2-0 so imagine my disappointment when Smith scored our 3rd..

He's been poor the last few weeks carrying a knock it seemed but easily been our best player overall bar Neal. Hopefully signing a new deal soon. We'd struggle a bit without him all be it attacking isn't our problem it's the other end!

To be honest although divisive we've missed Williamson the last couple of games, top scorer and adds pace to the attack, not helped either by Colin Daniels injury which got fatty Birchall back in!

Was Williamson the guy who picked up 2 stupid bookings within a minute when we beat you 5-0 last season?

No that was Dickinson our captain and left back tonight. How he won promotion to the Premier League no one knows.

That's standard Dickinson... Yet he still gets picked!

Page is livid with the defending and performance and promised changes! Crickey after his positive spin on recent dreadful performances we might see changes!

That was probably our worst home performance I've seen this season. The win was the main thing though!

Onto the Blunts!

Odd sorta game. We were crap first half, partly because Vale played well and partly because uncharacteristically our control let us down.

Smith held it together for us allowing JET to work his magic out of absolutely nothing. That's why Smith is our best player and should have been man of the match. Also why JET should have had more game time in the first half of the season.

Second half Vale gave us two goals, JET hit the inside of post and created other good chances whilst simultaneously playing pretty poorly. Then we fell asleep and were lucky it wasn't 3-2 before the end.

Awful crowd, they can't all have been babysitting or wifewatching. Not sure that over-hyped Campion touched the ball to be honest?

JET was not poor in any way. Had a great game and unlucky not to win MOTM. Scored, hit the post and set-up numerous attacks. Sure he will occasionally give the ball away but what attacking player doesn't?

Well we could of had 8 and it was still one of our poorer performances. We struggled with Port vales shape. They pushed three forward which meant our full backs couldn't push on and close down. This meant we didn't have as much of the ball as we liked. And when we did we gave it away so many times, alot of the time in dangerous positions .We were surprisingly very shakey at the back which has been unlike us . A Shame we conceded ( 1FF at fault), but I'd save they deserved it.
Standouts Bryan, JET, Smith and Freeman. A strange performance but a massive three points.

I'm not allowed to praise him too highly, nor discuss anything negative about the bloke who someone won man of the match by not doing an awful lot.

JET was okay, took his goal well but he gave the ball away far too many times.

You can do what you want?

For the recond to say Freeman didn't do an awful lot is ridiculous :)

Missed this one as I had my own game to play. Big 3 points, healthy lead, happy days. Sheffield Utd a big one on Sat, definitely have the capability to beat us

I really don't get Sheff Utd. Got lots of good players and seem capable of big wins yet lose 2-0 at Gillingham.

Sheff Utd game sold out already, wonder what attendance that actually means these days.

It struck me tonight what a shame one of our best ever seasons is being played out at a building site.

They were dreadful at our place Boxing Day. Way they play means if you don't attack them much as most in this league won't then they struggle.
