I was at that Man Utd game, managed to get two tickets through Jewell. 78 min it was 0-0, ended up losing 4-0 after they brought on Cole and Yorke as a double sub (it was about 6 months after they’d won the treble). Anyway, I’d much rather we were a mid table L2 side getting pumped by Harrogate twice a season…
5-0 must have been the season after, I seem to remember we had a symmetrical record over them over the 2 years with an aggregate of 16-0. Can remember the home game where we got to about the 70th minute and Gary Walsh bottled it and we collapsed.

Still be grateful we aren’t Bury, Oldham etc. or something…

That's not the attitude, we need your fans all keyed up and doing your best to make the lads on the pitch nervous.
Well its a sellout for home fans ,so there will be a couple of hundred fgr fans sat in the north stand which means probably 1300empty seats ,shame really

someone has pointed out on our forum that Northampton were partly responsible for us losing our League status in 1972 - as they were the team that Hereford beat in round 1 of the FA Cup that season on their way to beating Newcastle.... even more reason to beat Northampton this weekend.....

Do you really want to be responsible for Joey Barton being happy?

and, as I have mentioned before, do Bristol Rovers fans deep deep down, want to be promoted under him? The anniversary dinners with him as guest of honour? I wouldn't want it, but then I wouldn't be going to games if he was my teams manager. I expect better of Bristol as a city.

Very tenuous. I thought it was all our fault

I'm sure the current Barrow players probably don't know or care what happened in 1972. Neither would they consider whether or not Joey Barton will be happy.

They'll just do their best to finish the season with a good result. Whether they're good enough to take anything off Northampton I'm not sure.

Everything points towards an away win.

1) Northampton will want it more.
2) Northampton are 3rd in L2, Barrow are 21st.
3) Northampton are 7th in the away L2 table, could be as high as 3rd after Saturday.
4) Barrow are 23rd in the home L2 table.
5) Northampton have won their last 2 away, including an impressive 4-2 at a much improved Orient.
6) Odds, Barrow win 5/1, Northampton win 4/7.

Although Barrow have lost their last 2 games, they have won their last 2 at home and won at Sixfields in February, so there is a glimmer of hope.

You'd be surprised, we've got a Ronnie Radford dartboard in the clubhouse.

This is a wind-up right?
I don't care if Ian Huntley got us promoted with Rose West as his assistant.
All you have to do is win, and what we do won't really matter.
Players dont like losing games and I cant imagine Barrow will particularly like seeing Northampton celebrating in front of them on their own pitch.

Heard from a mate that we apparently don't have a proper physio or any kind of medical treatment available and that's one reason the players have been putting in half arsed shifts. Add that to the fact most of them are leaving and it would explain a lot.

Ironically I have a physio appointment around the time of the game so I'll join the players and not bother either.

Im not so sure that’ll be Barrow’s motivation

That would surely not be allowed,

We've been borrowing one but apparently he's absolutely useless.

We got rid of our permanent one once the club decided to sack off the season and cut costs

It will be a bit of a dilemma for your manager as to whether he goes for it from the off, or approaches it more cautiously...

We didn’t under Smurf at one point, we had only the club doctor so had to ask the opposition if we could use their physio as the club doctor wasn’t qualified to treat injuries!

What a mess we were.

The answer to the first two questions are Yes. Anniversary dinners ??? So you would'nt go if he was your manager -- Fair enough thats your prerogative . But living in Cardiff and seeing the team you support is Northampton . I would suggest you probably don't get to many games anyway.

I think we tend to play the same way regardless of who we play. Its not like we are particularly expansive anyway but we will press from the front from the outset.

Heard this from a player last week, who uses our company gym.
Said the 'physio' treats all injuries with cold water & the good old magic sponge.

We've binned off our physio? Is that the ex egg chaser?

Best bring the first aid box with me on Saturday just in case.

Hearing that Walsall, bless ‘em are moving yet more of their ST holders to give us an extra 500 tickets - 4000 in total!
