Scored 3 against Braintree again.

8 wins on the bounce against them now I think?

Disappointing collapse, but we can't be expecting miracles from the off.

Would be interested to hear some Chester views of the game.

Our forum and facebook is predictably suicidal.

Won 1-0, thanks to a deflected O'Connor goal right on half time. Scrappy at times, but some better football second half against a decent Welling side.

Good start to the season 6/6 points gutted to not get a clean sheet but the squad will be sky high with confidence bring on Braintree.

FC U of Man 1-2 FC County of Stockport. Came from behind, too.

Gutted I couldn't be there, no chance of a ticket though. If it was up to me there'd have been a free one for everyone who went to that game at Grimsby, grumble grumble

0-0 draw with Aldershot. Fair result overall although feel a bit unlucky having hit the post 3 times and having 2 disallowed!

I can't actually remember the last time we won two games in a row. I think the world might implode on Saturday if we manage to win a third!

Dominated the entire game, played some proper football and just the merest hint of some Mills 'arms up' action on show at the end just to whet the appetite.

Dominic Vose is a class player, MOTM tonight by some distance. I know people on here at the time were saying it could be a good signing but I didn't know much about him to be honest but it's obvious that he is very good. Jennings also finally produced something with a quality goal and he is now also our captain, bizarrely. Torquay offered nothing at all, 1 corner in the first half which they scored from and they looked really poor the whole of the second although some big players were missing meaning a lot of youngsters in the side apparently. If they had actually gone at us more I am convinced they'd have scored again as unsurprisingly we look really weak at the back. Penalty near the end looked pretty soft but would have to see it again, we deserved the win for sure though.

Our captain Luke Young is injured for the whole season, also our best CM, our only RB is injured and Louis Briscoe is out injured.

So glad we got that win tonight with what happened to Rendell, Johnny Goddard stepping up to the plate from midfield, Bromley never really troubled us to be honest.

Yeah, that. Goddard was excellent and Daniel and Andrade both looked good on the wing, still feel like we need a striker or two for sure although Gez looked decent up top on his own in fairness. If Garry can pull another Marriott or Stockley we could be in for a very promising season.

Good start though! Gateshead away never easy. Although saying that I've no idea if they're worse than they have been in previous seasons.
Yes, to be fair you can't really grumble with 2 wins out of 2. But I'm not getting carried away - we were apparently pretty good tonight but we were pretty lucky to beat Woking. I'll just take 1 game at a time and see how it does. To be honest, I'd forgotten you could actually take 3 points from 1 game, so 6 from 2 has sort of thrown me out of sync.

Glad to see you bounced back from that horrific news over the weekend. You looked a solid side on Saturday and I was really impressed with your number 3. You looked a goal shy of a good side and obviously that goal has occurred tonight.

Yeah we are missing 2/3 players who would be in the starting XI Cox would prefer to play. Our captain and best player, Luke Young, is one of them.

That starting XI played together for the first time on Saturday so tonight wasn't going to be a fluid performance. Anyway, I'm sure Cox would have taken a lot from it and we go on to Saturday at the Shay.

Sounds from all accounts it would have been a steal if we'd even held on for a point, even if the third goal sounds a poor call from the ref. No complaints here - 3-1 isn't a complete hammering, even if the performance was extremely one-sided. I've backed you guys to get promoted this year too, so it's no disgrace in my book.

Oh dear, gonna be a long season for us unless Crosby has some aces up his sleeve. Gone is our passing game, replaced with long ball shite and a powder puff midfield who need to be taken to one side and introduced to each other. Although Tranmere can count themselves a bit lucky with their first two goals, both deflected in off static defenders, there was only one team in it really and their fourth was a peach of goal. They were first to every loose ball and wanted it much more than we did and thoroughly deserved their win. Very impressive turn out from their fans as well. I'm really really hoping that tonight was just a bad day at the office, but.........................

Cheers for Monkhouse

Another two goals tonight! He's a very good player at Conf level, we haven't properly replaced him yet either which is frustrating. He wanted to be up north though which is understandable given the family were still up there, unfortunately we couldn't offer a good enough deal to warrant him staying. Grimsby seems like a good fit for him, hoping you lot join us this year! (As long as we don't make an immediate return...)

Great result tonight. The players could have easily felt sorry for themselves after the Rendell injury so that's a testament to Garry Hill and Steve Thompson for getting them up for it. Saah and Yakubu are looking like they could be one of the league's best centre-back partnerships. One or two new faces in before Saturday I think.
