"After discussions with Chairman Bob Dorrian, Chris Moyses has announced that he will be stepping down as manager of Lincoln City Football Club once the current campaign has come to a conclusion.

"It is my intention to stand down at the end of the season," says Chris.

"I made this decision last week and it's not one I've made lightly but managing a football club as well as running my own business has led to me working over 80 hours a week and that is simply not sustainable.

"The Club is in a good place and there has been a complete overhaul of the playing side. Like the foundations of a house, you can't see where the strength is and whoever takes the reins will inherit a strong, decent group of players ready to challenge next season."

Useless twat. Cost me money this season backing his shambles of a team to make the top 5. Good riddance.

Ridiculous that he assumed he could juggle being a full-time manager and business director.

Worried that Lincoln might actually become a threat in the league next season.

Great news! Hopefully now Lincoln can start challenging for promotion for once. Imperative they get this appointment rightly though and dont make a "Dave Hocaday type appointment

Anyway, correct decision really on the balance of things. Record wise, I think he fell just behind Simpson.

In the second half of last season, we lost nearly every week and the excuse was that he was playing players he couldn't trust. The second half of this season has gone exactly the same after a very good first 3 or 4 months. Can't hide from the fact we've only won 4 in our last 22, haven't won away since November (and our performances away from home have generally been poor) and haven't been great defensively bar a 10 game spell earlier in the season.

He's done his bit, though. In McCombe, Wood, Hawkridge, Muldoon and Rhead we've got a half decent core. Not necessarily a top 5 one, but we've had worse over the seasons. He also moved us to a new training base (left our other one on relegation - now a school) and paid for it all to be sorted apparently as well as doing his bit for the youth team.

In that respect, you can't really be too harsh on him like previous managers. It certainly wasn't through lack of trying, it's just ended as most thought it would do when the appointment was made, which, on one hand, is a shame because he's a Lincoln fan like the rest of us.

Will be interesting to see what happens with Grant Brown now. Every new manager we've had over the last 8-10 years has been given him and seemingly not allowed to get rid of him. That needs to change.

Being serious, in terms of the core of the side Lincoln already have in place, they ought to do well next season. There has been signs this year that even under an qualified manager they can compete with most teams, so a good appointment could well turn them into strong contenders.

If I was a conference club chairman looking for a new manager my first call would be to my opposite number at Braintree to seek permission to speak to theirs.

My name is Steve Thompson. I love Lincoln City, they're always in my heart. My record stands up against anyone.

(And you all thought Mills was the first with the hands in the air celebration - unless it's actually the start of the YMCA dance)

Halle-fucking-lujah.

No clue as to who is next. Seeing Richard Money fall out with our more moronic fans would be superb though, popcorn at the ready.

There's no way Cowley will come this far north.

I have mixed feelings with this news, granted CM is city through and through but sentiment doesn't buy you success and it is a results business. 4 wins out of the last 22 speaks volumes for what is happening at SB. I think the next appt will be the most important since our latest tenure down here. We have definitely made some big strides on and off the field this last 18 months or so and financially we can compete more with the top half budgets, that doesn't guarantee you success though, we could easily be in a much worse situation on the field this time next year. I just hope we get the right guy(s) in and can actually make an assault on at least the play offs.

He might walk though?

No win in 12, budget cuts and boardroom uncertainty. An ambitious manager like Hill might fancy a crack at a better funded job, as if things carry on like this your in trouble next season and he wont want a relegation on his cv.

Can see a move to someone like Ebbsfleet or Eastleigh on the cards.

Ah, I see. Then fair enough. We'll only have ourselves THE BOARD to blame.

Jim Harvey? Bags of experience and has done a great job in turning Halifax around (granted job isn't finished) also out of contract at the end of the season.
